"Come on, it'll be good for you and besides, like I said, I'll pay you." Gyungho basically walked Yoongi down the corridor towards the theatre, determined to get his little buddy out into the world and, of course, get him some social time. That and Minjun had sound issues and he kind of figured Yoongi might be able to solve it. He was a music guy.
"You can let go of my arm, hyung," Yoongi muttered, because he was pretty sure people were staring. They looked weird. "What am I gonna do, make a run for it?"
Sure, he kind of wanted to. Today had been a nightmare, having to go head to head with Jiho. Yoongi didn't mind competition, but this was different. Being pitted directly against someone while their teacher was unrelentingly watching and judging? Stuff of nightmares. He wanted to curl up under his covers and hide, but here he was instead.
"I have ties there." His boyfriend was putting on a play so yeah, he was kind of 'tied' in a very meaningful way. "Besides, it's art, isn't it? Moving art. You just have to be open minded. Besides, it's nice there. So loud and -- they usually have bottled water."
It wasn't that nice there. It was a lot of loud theatre kids yelling, Sangwoo glaring at him and no one ever knew their lines. It was a hot mess of drama.
"Er... I have fixed speakers before. I don't know if I can fix those, I'm not an electrician or anything." He was decently handy, he had fiddled around with equipment like that. But yeah, things were starting to become clearer now, which oddly helped him relax. Yoongi felt he knew a bit more about where he was being marched to now. "So you have actor friends? Yeah, that sounds about right."
Art types. All right, he knew he was one of those too, but the classical musicians were always a bit separate. For better or worse. Usually for worse. The level of competitiveness was insane. "What is their play about?"
"Erm, I don't know. Abusive parents... and I think there's pirates. And I saw someone dressed as a cow." Honestly, he had no idea. He knew Minjun told him but hell if he remembered the plot. He waffled on a lot about concepts and ideas, usually Gyungho just zoned out. He had a beautiful voice, it was hard not to just listen to the tone and not the words.
As he held the theatre door open, he was hit with the sound of yelling. Good start. "You'll be fine, hyung is here. You won't get yelled at."
"Uh-huh..." Yoongi stayed back so he was at least mostly hidden behind Gyungho, looking around. He felt a familiar tightness in his chest, just from seeing the stage. Not surprising, because even though this wasn't much like the concert hall, it was still a similar principle. Not helping with the whole meeting new people thing.
And there was Minjun, smiling brightly at Gyungho and coming up to them, waving, but not touching. Minjun tried to stick to a two steps distance rule with Gyungho in public. He didn't always keep to it, but hey, an effort was made. "Hey, Gyungho. Who's your friend?"
Yoongi bowed his head slightly. No 'hyung' for Gyungho, so he assumed this guy was about Gyungho's age. "Min Yoongi." He didn't want to be all formal with someone who so obviously seemed laid back, but when nervous formality seemed easiest to fall back on.
