"You think? I'm cold. And hungry. And my arms hurt because I can't move them. You're being a temperamental dick!" He was nice to him then he wasn't, he offered him food and then screwed him over. He was so done with this awkward bastard. Why couldn't he just be into him like most other boys were? It was so much easier when boys liked him. Then he could use them. "You're not nice to me. If you were nice, I'd be going home!"
He didn't know why he was yelling, it was a mix of fear, pain and rejection that just made him lose his temper. "I'm not telling you anything. Not again."
Perhaps it was time to let him understand the situation he was in, because somehow Ten kept clinging on to his childish way of interacting with the world, entirely ignoring what was actually happening. So Yoongi looked down at him, glad to feel his erection going down again. Good. He needed a clear head.
"I'm going to kill your father. I'm going to kill Cheon's father. I'm going to kill Cheon. I'm going to keep killing until I've reached my goal, Ten. This city deserves a lot better than what your family has done to it and I'll right that wrong. That's what's going to happen."
Ten didn't know what to feel. It didn't seem possible. He pulled his bounce legs up against his chest and looked at Yoongi, unsure what to say. He didn't have enough men to take down his dad. And Cheon was so close to being more powerful than his father. He lowered his head and huffed.
"Then I'm dead either way, aren't I? So what's the point of me telling you anything?" He was his son, he'd be dead. Whether Yoongi did it or if the traitors who would turn came at him. It was hard to say. "Who are you? Why do you hate my dad? He never did anything to you."
"I'm Min Yoongi." Which he supposed should answer all of the other questions Ten might have as well, although there would be a lot more. He knew that both him and Jungkook were thought to be dead, he had arranged for that after all. It seemed forever ago now, so much had happened since then. But he had never forgotten where he came from and he was so close to returning where he belonged. "My word means something."
Oh God, seriously? These impostors and wannabes were pathetic. "Min Yoongi died. So did all that family. They're ancient, old news. My dad got rid of the Min clad." That's what he always said. "Natural selection." They were weak. Losers. And his dad crushed them because of that. He eyed up this guy who claimed to be Yoongi, unsure if he was serious or not. Could he be? "The word means something to the Min clan. That clan doesn't exist any more."
"Have you ever wanted your word to mean something too?" Yoongi decided to ignore the dismissal. Honestly, he was used to it and it was due to his own efforts, so he couldn't even complain. It was the 'natural selection' comment that got to him. The only reason their clan had been taken down had been backstabbing and cowardly moves that they would have never had considered. Still, he had seen his father die with honour, he had been prepared to do the same. Perhaps he might have, if it hadn't been for Jungkook. "I'm curious. Do you think that having honour is ancient too? Old news?"
"I don't think about it. I don't make promises. I don't handle business by myself, I don't get involved. So I don't have honour, I guess. I don't care either." He couldn't mess what he didn't have. He didn't know what to say but Yoongi's eyes were burrowing into him and he felt weird under his glare. "Maybe it's not old news but you're not on top, if you are who you say you are, so your honour means nothing."
He licked his lips and eyed the food. "I'll never be in charge, you know? It's pointless taking it out on me."
"Honour always means something. It means the most when you have nothing else." Yoongi looked at him for a few moments more and then crouched down by him, reaching for the bowl again. This time he kept feeding Ten, not even acknowledging the statement about taking it out on him. He wasn't taking anything out on him or Ten would be bleeding by now. Perhaps dying.
Maybe he had just outgrown his rage. He knew Jungkook would be less likely to hold back. Yoongi finally let him drink again, just watching.
"I will be on top. And maybe you could join me there."
Ten finished his food and he was quiet for a while, not sure about what to feel over any of this. He hated everything about this. "I-- I can tell you something." Whatever. This guy was going to kill him, no matter what he said. He was the son of the man that wiped out his clan, he doubted he'd last long. And even if he did, Cheon would doubt him and his father too.
"It's important. And you'll want to hear it." Of course, he wasn't an idiot. "I'll tell you if you promise to let me out of the straight jacket and you take me upstairs. And I'm allowed to have water and go outside." It was worth going big and then bargaining down.
"If what you tell me is worthwhile, then yes. Not alone, no chance of escape, but yes." Yoongi left it at that, unsure what Ten would offer him at this point. But who knew, maybe it would be worth it. So far, Ten had managed to surprise him a couple of times. He looked at him expectantly, waiting for what he had to say, head tilted to the side.
"Cheon's father is dying. He has cancer. Give it six months, if that, and he's over with. You don't even need to take him out." He bit his lower lip and then turned his head to the side, feeling a bit guilty overall about what he was about to say. Maybe he had no honour, he couldn't help it. He didn't want to do this. "Cheon wants to take over. Everything. So he said ... that I should oust my father and become the leader myself. Then he can run it and I'll be the figure head."
He didn't think he could do that to his father and he assumed that Cheon would just get him out of the way pretty fast. "I said I didn't want to rule and he said he'd help me but I didn't think it'd hurt my dad!" That was what happened when kids were that shelters. No consequences.
Yoongi frowned, thinking immediately. He had to talk to Namjoon, this was huge. It would explain so much of the activity they had found and it painted a very clear target on Cheon's back. Good, because he was already itching to take him out anyway. He looked at Ten finally, giving a slight nod. "That was good information."
He had to give him that. "Cheon is a selfish, controlling dick. He's been like that all his life. Do you know Yejoon? A long, long time ago, I had something going on with Yejoon. I know Cheon. I know the Dark Dragons. And I know how to take them out."
"Yejoon is such a fuck boy." Well. He was. Ten didn't know what to feel about any of this, he just gave away a lot and Cheon would probably kill him for it. And if his dad found out, he'd kill him in a heartbeat. It wasn't like they were overly close. He just protected Ten out of PR and honour. And apparently that didn't mean a lot to his dad.
"You said if it was good, I got to go up." He hoped that Yoongi meant it. If he didn't then he knew it for a fact, his word was bullshit. "And I want dessert. And a bed tonight, it's cold here and the floor hurts!"
"You'll get to go up," Yoongi agreed, bending down to undo the straps of the straight jacket and pull it off Ten, then he used his knife to cut through the tape. "Stretch a little first, that will lessen the cramping a little." There wasn't really that much hurry. At least not for Ten, he definitely had reason to talk to Hobi and Namjoon as soon as possible. "Are you going to try running?" Might as well ask him, maybe it'd make a difference.
"That's a stupid question." Eventually, yeah. He wanted to haul ass out of here and try to get to freedom but what he'd just told Yoongi could get him killed so he didn't even know any more. Maybe he could hide in the woods. How hard could it be to live in the woods? They had berries and stuff.
Stretching a little first to try and stop the pain, he stood up and braced himself on the wall. His legs were wobbly and his arms ached. "I won't run if I get dessert." That was his deal. "I want ice cream mochi."
"I've no idea what we have, but you can try and ask. Politely." Yoongi debated blindfolding or handcuffing him, but then decided against it, instead just unlocking the door and then heading up the stairs, waiting for Ten to follow him. He opened the door as soon as he reached him, calling out to the others. "I have Ten with me. He's been very helpful, so he gets some freedom and dessert."
And, no, he didn't want to have an argument about that.
"... Seriously, hyung?" Oh God. He didn't want to even look at that brat. Jungkook got up and glared darkly as Ten came stumbling up the stairs, dressed in the same clothes and looking ruffled. He covered his eyes at how bright the lights were up here, wincing and lowering his head.
"We don't have dessert." Namjoon frowned. "We have ... toast. I guess. And a candy bar."
"That's not dessert." Ten reminded Yoongi, knowing that they made a deal. "You made a big fucking deal about your word and you can't even get me dessert." God, Jungkook wanted to punch him in the face.
"Attitude, Ten." Yoongi was more concerned with how Jungkook might be feeling than Ten's unhappiness, but he still called out to Jimin, who had to be around somewhere. "Jiminie! You have something sweet somewhere." He knew him well enough to be able to guess that.
Tae came up behind Jungkook, putting a hand on his shoulder and frowning at the look on his face. "Hey..." He kept his voice low, mostly just concerned with his mental state.
"Yeah but they're mine." Jimin didn't want to share but he knew that Yoongi was kinda desperate and he called him Jiminie so... he was a good friend. He hurried up to his room to get something sweet for their hostage, sliding by Jungkook with an edge of unease. He was so tense right now.
"Hey." Jungkook turned his head back, trying to look at Tae and be relaxed but he was just angry. He hated this kid, he hated all he represented and Yoongi had to deal with him. How was that fair?
Ten licked his lips and turned to Yoongi, casually touching him like it was all fine and they were old friends. Mostly, he just wanted his attention. "Water. And I get to go outside."
"Yes, yes. Give me a minute." Yoongi wasn't sure what issue to deal with first, so in the end he simply grabbed Ten by the wrist and pulled him along so he couldn't provoke Jungkook more with his entire demeanour and his existence. He trusted Tae to calm him down, because he had to talk to Namjoon.
He leaned down next to him, still holding on to Ten. "The Dark Dragon leader has cancer. His son wants to take over and oust out Ten's father. Overstepping, if you ask me, but it definitely explains some activity we've seen."
Tae wrapped his arms around Jungkook and kissed his cheek, trying to understand what was going on inside him. It wasn't always easy. "You okay?"
"Wait, what? Woah. That's huge. Are you sure?" Namjoon turned his head, looking at Ten with a baffled expression. "No one knows he's sick. I mean, no one has seen him for a while but how do you know?"
"I'm fucking his son." Did he really have to point that out? "He can't really go out. It's brain cancer, I think. He forgets stuff and fucks up a lot. Everyone is backing Cheon to come in, even before he's dead." Well, he was in this situation, everyone knew now. Was there any going back? He may as well share. "I know more but I'm not telling." It was his secret until he knew he'd get to stay alive and well fed.
"No." He wrapped one arm around Tae and pulled him in close. Tae was always so good to him, so sweet and kind. "That kid is a monster. I wish he'd just die." Cruel, perhaps, but he didn't care what Yoongi said. That kid was bad news. He was a product of his dad.
"Fuck." He had wanted the Dark Dragon leader aware when he took him out, there was a familiar feeling of anger at the realisation that he'd not be able to do that. But Yoongi was good at stomping down on that by now, he had had a lot of reason to learn how to deal with his emotions. "I believe him. He's a bad liar and it fits what we know." Finally the pattern made sense.
"I'm sure Suga can deal with him." Tae wasn't quite sure what to do when Jungkook's dark side came out, but he just hugged him and let him know that he was here for him. "He's a brat, I know that much. But hey, looks like Suga has a plan again. It's all going to work out. And your father will be avenged."
"I got these, Yoongi-hyung!" Jimin came in and held out his pack of mochi, giving them to Yoongi and not to Ten. He didn't like Ten, he was such a brat. "You can have one of them but the rest are mine."
Ten eyed them up excitedly. He knew that no one in this room liked him, he could feel the glares and the hate, he could hear Jungkook whispering about him and no, he didn't think he had a future here. Not even a little. First chance he got, he was running. But first, he wanted dessert.
"Yoongi can deal but he doesn't have to deal alone. One wrong move and I'll shoot him." He wasn't dicking around. If that little brat gave him a reason, he was ending it. "I need some fresh air. Wanna come?"
Yoongi reached for the mochi and took one out, handing it to Ten. He gave the package back to Jimin right away, his eyes on Ten. "Thanks, Jiminie. I'll repay the favour." Obviously not just repaying him for a single mochi, that would be pretty pointless. "Enjoy, Ten."
"Yes!" Tae was excited, he actually really loved being in an actual forest. He had never been this far outside the city before and it was beautiful. The air smelled fresh and the trees looked amazing and he had to hold back to not just go and explore excitedly when they'd first arrived, since he wanted to be cooler than that. He was pretty sure Yoongi could walk past all seven world wonders without ever reacting and he knew Jungkook admired his brother a lot, but, yeah. He had broken down so quickly the first day, just dragging Jungkook outside and then sitting around watching ants for two hours.
The excitement had waned a little since then, but he was still happy to go outside and happier still to go much of anywhere with Jungkook, so he took his hand and headed for the door.
"This is big, Yoongi. We need to rethink our plans." Namjoon was already pondering, gesturing Hobi to come over.
"Yeah." It wasn't ice cream mochi. Or fresh. Or really worth his big secret. He idly looked at it and accepted the fact that he just sold out his boyfriend for this. And a bunch of other stuff he might not even get. Shit. He wasn't hungry now. "I'm good not hungry." He set the mochi aside and looked tentatively over at Jungkook and Tae, hurrying outside to get some air.
That kid was going to kill him.
"I'm not watching boring insects walk in lines again." Jungkook told him as he held the door open for him, wandering outside with a lot of indifference. It was nice, yeah, but was it worth how much Tae was freaking out?
