"Yejoon is such a fuck boy." Well. He was. Ten didn't know what to feel about any of this, he just gave away a lot and Cheon would probably kill him for it. And if his dad found out, he'd kill him in a heartbeat. It wasn't like they were overly close. He just protected Ten out of PR and honour. And apparently that didn't mean a lot to his dad.
"You said if it was good, I got to go up." He hoped that Yoongi meant it. If he didn't then he knew it for a fact, his word was bullshit. "And I want dessert. And a bed tonight, it's cold here and the floor hurts!"
"You'll get to go up," Yoongi agreed, bending down to undo the straps of the straight jacket and pull it off Ten, then he used his knife to cut through the tape. "Stretch a little first, that will lessen the cramping a little." There wasn't really that much hurry. At least not for Ten, he definitely had reason to talk to Hobi and Namjoon as soon as possible. "Are you going to try running?" Might as well ask him, maybe it'd make a difference.
"That's a stupid question." Eventually, yeah. He wanted to haul ass out of here and try to get to freedom but what he'd just told Yoongi could get him killed so he didn't even know any more. Maybe he could hide in the woods. How hard could it be to live in the woods? They had berries and stuff.
Stretching a little first to try and stop the pain, he stood up and braced himself on the wall. His legs were wobbly and his arms ached. "I won't run if I get dessert." That was his deal. "I want ice cream mochi."
"I've no idea what we have, but you can try and ask. Politely." Yoongi debated blindfolding or handcuffing him, but then decided against it, instead just unlocking the door and then heading up the stairs, waiting for Ten to follow him. He opened the door as soon as he reached him, calling out to the others. "I have Ten with me. He's been very helpful, so he gets some freedom and dessert."
And, no, he didn't want to have an argument about that.
"... Seriously, hyung?" Oh God. He didn't want to even look at that brat. Jungkook got up and glared darkly as Ten came stumbling up the stairs, dressed in the same clothes and looking ruffled. He covered his eyes at how bright the lights were up here, wincing and lowering his head.
"We don't have dessert." Namjoon frowned. "We have ... toast. I guess. And a candy bar."
"That's not dessert." Ten reminded Yoongi, knowing that they made a deal. "You made a big fucking deal about your word and you can't even get me dessert." God, Jungkook wanted to punch him in the face.
"Attitude, Ten." Yoongi was more concerned with how Jungkook might be feeling than Ten's unhappiness, but he still called out to Jimin, who had to be around somewhere. "Jiminie! You have something sweet somewhere." He knew him well enough to be able to guess that.
Tae came up behind Jungkook, putting a hand on his shoulder and frowning at the look on his face. "Hey..." He kept his voice low, mostly just concerned with his mental state.
"Yeah but they're mine." Jimin didn't want to share but he knew that Yoongi was kinda desperate and he called him Jiminie so... he was a good friend. He hurried up to his room to get something sweet for their hostage, sliding by Jungkook with an edge of unease. He was so tense right now.
"Hey." Jungkook turned his head back, trying to look at Tae and be relaxed but he was just angry. He hated this kid, he hated all he represented and Yoongi had to deal with him. How was that fair?
Ten licked his lips and turned to Yoongi, casually touching him like it was all fine and they were old friends. Mostly, he just wanted his attention. "Water. And I get to go outside."
"Yes, yes. Give me a minute." Yoongi wasn't sure what issue to deal with first, so in the end he simply grabbed Ten by the wrist and pulled him along so he couldn't provoke Jungkook more with his entire demeanour and his existence. He trusted Tae to calm him down, because he had to talk to Namjoon.
He leaned down next to him, still holding on to Ten. "The Dark Dragon leader has cancer. His son wants to take over and oust out Ten's father. Overstepping, if you ask me, but it definitely explains some activity we've seen."
Tae wrapped his arms around Jungkook and kissed his cheek, trying to understand what was going on inside him. It wasn't always easy. "You okay?"
"Wait, what? Woah. That's huge. Are you sure?" Namjoon turned his head, looking at Ten with a baffled expression. "No one knows he's sick. I mean, no one has seen him for a while but how do you know?"
"I'm fucking his son." Did he really have to point that out? "He can't really go out. It's brain cancer, I think. He forgets stuff and fucks up a lot. Everyone is backing Cheon to come in, even before he's dead." Well, he was in this situation, everyone knew now. Was there any going back? He may as well share. "I know more but I'm not telling." It was his secret until he knew he'd get to stay alive and well fed.
"No." He wrapped one arm around Tae and pulled him in close. Tae was always so good to him, so sweet and kind. "That kid is a monster. I wish he'd just die." Cruel, perhaps, but he didn't care what Yoongi said. That kid was bad news. He was a product of his dad.
"Fuck." He had wanted the Dark Dragon leader aware when he took him out, there was a familiar feeling of anger at the realisation that he'd not be able to do that. But Yoongi was good at stomping down on that by now, he had had a lot of reason to learn how to deal with his emotions. "I believe him. He's a bad liar and it fits what we know." Finally the pattern made sense.
"I'm sure Suga can deal with him." Tae wasn't quite sure what to do when Jungkook's dark side came out, but he just hugged him and let him know that he was here for him. "He's a brat, I know that much. But hey, looks like Suga has a plan again. It's all going to work out. And your father will be avenged."
"I got these, Yoongi-hyung!" Jimin came in and held out his pack of mochi, giving them to Yoongi and not to Ten. He didn't like Ten, he was such a brat. "You can have one of them but the rest are mine."
Ten eyed them up excitedly. He knew that no one in this room liked him, he could feel the glares and the hate, he could hear Jungkook whispering about him and no, he didn't think he had a future here. Not even a little. First chance he got, he was running. But first, he wanted dessert.
"Yoongi can deal but he doesn't have to deal alone. One wrong move and I'll shoot him." He wasn't dicking around. If that little brat gave him a reason, he was ending it. "I need some fresh air. Wanna come?"
Yoongi reached for the mochi and took one out, handing it to Ten. He gave the package back to Jimin right away, his eyes on Ten. "Thanks, Jiminie. I'll repay the favour." Obviously not just repaying him for a single mochi, that would be pretty pointless. "Enjoy, Ten."
"Yes!" Tae was excited, he actually really loved being in an actual forest. He had never been this far outside the city before and it was beautiful. The air smelled fresh and the trees looked amazing and he had to hold back to not just go and explore excitedly when they'd first arrived, since he wanted to be cooler than that. He was pretty sure Yoongi could walk past all seven world wonders without ever reacting and he knew Jungkook admired his brother a lot, but, yeah. He had broken down so quickly the first day, just dragging Jungkook outside and then sitting around watching ants for two hours.
The excitement had waned a little since then, but he was still happy to go outside and happier still to go much of anywhere with Jungkook, so he took his hand and headed for the door.
"This is big, Yoongi. We need to rethink our plans." Namjoon was already pondering, gesturing Hobi to come over.
"Yeah." It wasn't ice cream mochi. Or fresh. Or really worth his big secret. He idly looked at it and accepted the fact that he just sold out his boyfriend for this. And a bunch of other stuff he might not even get. Shit. He wasn't hungry now. "I'm good not hungry." He set the mochi aside and looked tentatively over at Jungkook and Tae, hurrying outside to get some air.
That kid was going to kill him.
"I'm not watching boring insects walk in lines again." Jungkook told him as he held the door open for him, wandering outside with a lot of indifference. It was nice, yeah, but was it worth how much Tae was freaking out?
Hobi had overheard most of it, sitting down next to Namjoon now and looking at Yoongi seriously. "That actually makes the targets we talked about yesterday more viable again." Which he liked, he already knew how to approach them.
Yoongi nodded in agreement. "Fill Namjoon in on that. I'll take Ten outside, I promised." And they knew that he kept his promises. "Hobi, you got handcuffs on you?"
Hobi nodded and handed the pair to Yoongi, who closed one cuff around his wrist and then the other around Ten, not even giving him time to process what was happening. "Ready to go out?"
"You can watch me," Tae suggested, spreading out his arms and posing, although that mostly meant turning his head toward the sun and smiling. It was nice. The sun never felt like this in the city, he had someone who liked him, he had a bed to sleep in, he had a roof over his head, life was pretty good right now. "I'm so interesting to watch!"
"Oh yeah, can't wait." This was not freedom. He watched Namjoon tell Hobi what he'd told Yoongi and idly considered how fucked he was. If Yoongi died, he was dead and odds are, they would die if Cheon had his way. And he usually did. He hurried after Yoongi and stepped outside, frowning as he looked around.
Shit. This really was the middle of nowhere. "I'm not running away." He tugged at the cuff. "I got nowhere to run to. I guess. I dunno." He shrugged. "I don't like nature." It was icky.
Jungkook sat down on a nearby tree stump and watched as Tae ran around like an idiot, posing for him. He huffed out a playful laugh and shook his head, it was hard not to smile around Tae. That's why he liked him. "So interesting! You're like a sunflower, turning to the light."
"I'm not the biggest fan either. Hate having to sleep outside." He could do it, obviously, he had done it, but he had never enjoyed it. Yoongi looked around to scan their surroundings, then looked at Ten again at long last. "A lot of the people that follow your father will follow me, once they believe I've survived."
He knew that for a fact. Most who grew up with his clan wouldn't be happy under the Dark Dragons. "I know what I'm doing. I've been working on this for a long time. I will win."
Tae turned around himself until he got a little dizzy, so he sat down next to Jungkook and laughed quietly, wrapping both arms around him. "I'll be all tan. You'll still like me then, right?"
"I know. Then you kill my dad and my boyfriend. I'm thrilled for you." What was he supposed to say? Yay, congratulations! He didn't like it. He wasn't even sure if he liked Yoongi. He just felt a moment of desperate fear and caved. He just didn't want the hood again. "Those people that abandon my father won't want me alive. I'm a problem."
He could rise up any day and get power. Or at least, idiots who didn't know him. He pouted lightly and looked down at his feet. "Keeping me alive is just dragging it out." He'd get every scrap of info from him before he shot him.
"I'd like you any way you are." Jungkook took his hat off and slipped it onto Tae's hair, figuring he needed some sun protection. As little as he could offer. "Keep the sun off your face, you'll burn." With a fond smile, he let Tae cling to him, watching a squirrel run around ahead.
"Not if you took my side. It would strengthen my position. Taking over the enemy, turning his own son into my friend." Yoongi thought that logic was sound, it should discourage dissent. "Especially since you aren't interested in the business. That would actually work in your favour here."
He doubted that Ten's disinterest was a secret. Such things never were.
Tae glanced up at the hat and grinned, resting his head against Jungkook's shoulder. "That boy, he really bothers you, yeah?" He was piecing it all together. "I'm sorry. I know you miss your father."
"I don't trust you." May as well be upfront. "It's hard to trust someone who would happily kidnap and torture you. I see no reason to stand by your side. Cheon isn't perfect but he's always good to me and my father, he doesn't have much to do with me but he would save me and protect me. All you do is hurt me. And use me." It didn't seem like a great partnership. He got it, he was a hostage but it sucked when Yoongi spoke to him like they were going to be rulers or partners.
"You're kinda a shitty guy and you're gonna get me killed." What else was new? "I guess I deserve it. I deserve a guy like you." He turned his head, smiling playfully. "Big dick."
Jungkook sighed, not sure if he wanted to really think about it all. "I do. I just ... I don't hate him, I hate what he represents and he's a constant threat as long as he lives."
"I haven't hurt you. I could." He had not treated him kindly, but why would he? It had worked out well enough the way he'd handled it. Yoongi was good at interrogation, one of his talents. He had been right to handle it the way he had, but of course it meant that Ten was far from broken. "You think you deserve me?" Yoongi flashed a smirk for a moment, shaking his head. "Oh, you wish."
"I understand." Tae sighed and just rested his head against Jungkook. "Don't worry, Kookie. I'll keep you safe." Well, he certainly intended to, even if he was very much still learning.
"Your thug slapped my face and I've been sleeping on a stone floor for a day in a straight jacket. I can barely feel my arms. It hurts." Yoongi always tried so hard to make him feel like a wuss, talking down to him and acting like it wasn't a big deal. He didn't have to get a beating to be in pain. Lowering his head, he huffed in annoyance. "I wanna go back inside now." The fresh air and birds were annoying him. Time to go back to hell. It was easier there.
"Oh please, I'll be the one protecting you." Jungkook had to laugh, wrapping an arm protectively around Tae and keeping him close. "I'll always protect you. Always have, always will. I got your back. Whatever happens here, I'll keep you safe."
"I guess. So I did hurt you, I'll admit it." He didn't apologise, but at least he didn't argue against it. He glanced over at Jungkook and Tae to make sure that they were being cute, then turned around to head inside. He'd have to figure out what to do about Ten for now, then he could think about what to do with him later. If he had to kill him, so be it. But maybe there was a better way. "Hobi?"
Yoongi held his wrist up and Hobi came over, unlocking the cuff on Yoongi's side. "Where do we put this?" 'This' being Ten.
"I want to stay upstairs. It's cold down there and it hurts."
"You don't get to make demands. You're a hostage. Just shut up and let the grown ups talk." Namjoon didn't even look up from his laptop, unsure when Ten would stop making demands and just do what he was told. Ten gritted his teeth. He didn't like being called 'this', he didn't like that he wasn't getting to stay upstairs and he eyed the door that was still open outside. His legs were free, technically his hands were free. He could bolt. He could try it.
He edged back and then he just went for it. He bolted back out the door and ran as fast as his legs could carry him. He wasn't much of a runner though.
Yoongi exchanged one look with Hobi and then just set out after Ten, since he was a little closer. Obviously any of them could have caught them, even Namjoon sitting in the other room, but Yoongi wanted to make sure he got to him before Jungkook could shoot him. He tackled him to the ground and immediately forced his hands behind himself, using the handcuff dangling off Ten's wrist to lock it to the other wrist and pressing his knee down hard against the small of his back, one hand on his neck to keep him down. He leaned down so he could whisper near his ear.
"Are you insane? My brother could have shot you, you idiot."
"I want to go! I hate you, you fucking bastard. You said if I helped you, you'd reward me but you talk about me like I'm nothing." Ten wriggled and flailed, not seeming to care that behind him, Jungkook literally had his gun trained on the area Ten had just been. Desperately, Ten tried to get out from under Yoongi.
"I'm glad my father wiped you out. You're a clan of cowards. You're pathetic." His eyes watered and he didn't want to cry but he was so fed up of this. "It's not my fault that your dad sucked at his job."
