"No. Nothing about this. Just that he's been sick, since he looked so pale and I asked about it. I think his back was hurt? I don't know. I didn't think about it at the time." Just in retrospect he was trying to put things together. "He's... I know he's basically been abused by someone without even being aware of it, I guess that asshole got back to him."
Cheon, of course.
Yoongi finished typing, hating how he was back to having nothing to do right now. He had to find Jimin, he knew that Jimin would believe that he was going to save him. He just had to, there was no alternative. "Tae had his gun and he's not bad at using it, so since we've heard nothing so far, I'm guessing they got drugged. Cheon likes using drugs, we know that. That drug he always used takes a while to wake up from, doesn't it?" He looked at Namjoon for confirmation. "They might still be out of it."
"If they're drugged, yeah. They'd have been our for forty-five minutes to an hour? So we're looking at whenever they set off to party. Tae stopped texting me around eight thirty so I'd say about nine. We're still in a safe space of time in theory." If their theory was right, anyway. Which meant the next two hours were important. The more time passed, the less likely they were to find them.
Jungkook's phone went off and he pulled it out, stepping off to the side to talk to someone.
Namjoon turned to Hobi and sighed, wishing he could comfort him and Yoongi. He just knew there was no way to. He didn't know how they felt but he knew how horrible it was to think of Tae in that position. "Cheon is a horrible fucker, he knows how to manipulate someone. He probably found out that Ten had an in and came at him. It's no one's fault."
Hurrying back over to Yoongi, Jungkook set his phone down. "I sent some guys on ahead to the clubs the girls flagged before I left. They just got there and the bartender recognised seeing Jimin there."
"It's everyone's fault," Yoongi stated, whether just to be contrary or because he actually felt it. He wasn't even sure himself. "So we are going to fix it."
He looked at Jungkook, taking the information in and nodding. "We're heading over there. Are you armed, Hobi?"
J-Hope nodded and Yoongi headed for the door, seeing no need to ask the others. They all tended to never go anywhere unarmed. Hobi was the one who rarely went out into the field like this, but he didn't argue with Yoongi right now. Of course not. Instead he followed behind the boss, swallowing as he tried to focus. He didn't do that well with close action, but he wanted to do well tonight.
"Give the driver the address, Jungkook." Yoongi got into the car, looking calm as he checked his own gun, only glancing up when Namjoon entered. "Might be a set-up."
Jungkook gave the address to the driver and climbed into the back, trying his best to do everything he was told and be the most productive assistance he could be. He knew how delicate this was going to be. He got out his gun and looked it over, loading it up just in case and hoping he didn't get shot again. Since that hit, he'd been a bit nervous in the field.
Namjoon had no idea if Tae had his phone on him or not, if it had been smashed beyond repair or if Cheon was holding it. He wanted to send him a message, to tell him to hang in there and don't do anything stupid.
Like Yoongi, he always tried to get the focus on him. Always had to pick fights. He couldn't stand the idea of the kid getting hurt again.
"If they were at the club, there will be CCTV. We can probably get a license plate. I doubt they moved them without transport."
"Probably not. We have contacts, we can run the license plate." Obviously Namjoon knew that, Yoongi was just voicing it out loud as he stayed as calm as he possibly could. Which, at least outwardly, was very. Yoongi didn't earn his reputation for nothing. "I want you on the roof once we know where they might be, J-Hope. Avoid head-shots. I still want Cheon alive, if there's any chance."
J-Hope nodded and considered asking about Ten, but then decided against it. Maybe it was best not to bring him up.
"How's your pain level today, Kookie?" Yoongi looked at him, frowning. "I know you want to help, but if you are not up for it, you could do more harm than good."
"No, I'm up for it. I want to make that fucker pay. I can do this." Jungkook might have been nervous and on edge at the idea of doing this again but he had to get over it and he had to do this. Besides, it wasn't like he was in too much pain. It was more a nagging feeling these days than agony. "They're my friends... I want to be there to help."
If he had a chance to save them, he would save them.
Namjoon eyed up Hobi and considered the situation, he wanted to ask if they were keeping Ten or killing him but he'd ask Yoongi that when Hobi wasn't sitting right next to him. "Everyone keep an eye on each other, yeah? Cheon could be acting alone or this could be an ambush, it's hard to say. We just need to be smart."
"Then stay right behind me. You'll do great." Yoongi put a hand on Jungkook's for just a moment, wishing they already had an address. He needed to do things, but he also had to be smart about it. He needed to think strategic. "He's unlikely to have many allies, but he is probably waiting for us. He's not stupid, he has to know he can't survive this. This is about taking people down with him."
"...please, don't kill Ten." Hobi finally made himself speak up, bowing his head and keeping it bowed. "It's not his fault. He's in a bad situation, he probably felt he had no other choice. Please, Suga. I'll answer for him."
"What, you want me to kill you instead?" Hey, Yoongi was just asking.
"Hey, we don't know the situation in full. We're going by hearsay and what we vaguely know about Ten and Cheon. Let's make our decisions when we understand it all." Namjoon gave Yoongi a look. He got it, he was concerned, they both were. For all he knew, Ten was a manipulative little shit who was using Hobi to do Cheon's dirty work - or he was an innocent kid wrapped up in a nightmare situation.
Judgement should be held off. It was only fair.
"If he hurt Tae and Jimin, he should die for it." Jungkook shrugged, he wasn't really pro that kid to begin with and now it was even worse. "Come on, Hobi-hyung. Don't get too attached."
"You know, I will say this." Namjoon put a hand on Hobi's arm, reassuring and trying to have his back. Someone had to. And maybe he had to remind them what kind of guy Cheon was. "Ten is fucking Cheon. No matter how you swing it, something is wrong with that. And let's face it, if we hadn't been lucky enough to get to them, Tae and Jimin could be in the same position as that kid. So. Like I said. We'll judge later."
"He's my responsibility." Hobi really wanted Yoongi to stop being cold, but he knew there was little chance of that happening, especially in the current situation. "If he deserves punishment for this, then it will be given by me." He looked up at Yoongi again, wishing he could read his face. Things had been so much simpler when they'd been young. "Please, Suga."
Yoongi finally just nodded. "Fair enough. He stays alive, if possible." If he was even still alive. There was no way to tell. Would he be able to be lenient if Tae was dead? If Jimin was? He wondered how lenient Namjoon would feel if he had to see Tae's corpse today.
But here was hoping it wouldn't come to that. They stopped by the club, one of their people already waiting outside. Yoongi had sent men everywhere after all. "Jungkook, check if they have a license plate yet."
Jungkook ran inside to get the CCTV while Namjoon went ahead to talk to the staff. There wasn't much to gather overall but the CCTV did show Cheon lugging Jimin and Ten stumbling along with Tae, both boys looked totally limp and out of it. He supposed from the outside looking in, it looked like two guys helping their drink friend get home. Bastards.
Scribbling down the license plate, Jungkook started to call around for it while Namjoon rewatched the tape again and again, just trying to see where the car was heading.
He came back out to Yoongi and gestured left down the road, a small frown on his face. "Ignore me if I'm wrong but down there ... wasn't that a dumping area for the Dark Dragons? They kept their cars there and sometimes bodies. I'm sure of it. And the car went that way so..." Maybe.
"There's a chance," Yoongi agreed, trying to recall what that dumping area looked like. "I still don't see him having backup. His assets are cut off, anyone would know this is a suicide mission. None of his people were all that loyal to begin with."
He had to formulate a plan, but it was difficult. "If they are still alive, he might kill them when he knows we're coming."
So what was the best way to handle this? "If I show willingness to negotiate, he might come out. He's full of himself and overly confident."
Just meant he had to show that much weakness to gain the tactical advantage. Potentially.
"If he had backup, he wouldn't have used Ten. He must have been desperate to rope a kid into this and he took someone young that he's abused. It's easier to control him." It was pretty obvious that he was alone in this and yeah, he wanted to take people down with him before he went. And that didn't leave him much confidence that Tae was alive.
"We could bait him out. If we're willing to lower ourselves and boost his ego. He'd love to gloat and make a show. If we got him outside, Hobi could neutralise him from a high point."
That was the only thing he could think of. He frowned and turned his head to the side, it was all so risky. "He might use Jimin as a shield."
"Probably." Yoongi leaned back, thinking it over. It was likely the only way, at least on short notice, and he knew they had no time to waste. Not knowing how much damage Cheon could do to people. Maybe Jimin was the most likely to be alive, but that didn't mean he was safe by any measure. He looked at Hobi, who was staring off at nothing.
"...we'll do it." He could risk his rep for this and he could trust Hobi's aim. Wouldn't be the first time and he didn't see how he had any other choice, not given circumstances. "Namjoon, we need to contact Cheon. The faster the better. Without setting him off. Any ideas?"
"I think we should try texting the kids phones. Let's just ... see what happens." Leaning against the wall, Namjoon pulled out his phone and texted Tae, knowing the kid never muted his phone. It was always so fucking loud.
Tae, are you okay? Someone respond to me helllllllllllllllllllloooo
He supposed they could try calling Jimin's phone next but this at least gave him some peace of mind. Jungkook came out not long after, shrugging his shoulders hopelessly. "I couldn't get a read on the car. Sorry."
"Ten's phone is turned off. I already tried." Still, Hobi tried to ring it again, just in case.
nO
Not the world's deepest response, but at least it was a response. Yoongi looked at Jungkook and waved him to sit down in the car again. "It's fine. We have a plan." Something close to one at least. They just had to do what they could to set it into motion quickly. "Is Tae actually replying? That's even more tenacious than I'd have thought."
He wasn't sure which so he just asked. He sat down in the back between J-Hope and Jungkook, wondering idly if Tae was able to text properly or not. He might be tied up or tortured, he wasn't sure. Maybe he was still drugged. His replies might not be the best. "Let's go ahead. At the very least, we have someone on the line."
Yoongi gave a nod, giving his okay. There wasn't much else to do right now, so he leaned forward to try and see the screen, unable not to at least look and see. The tension was getting to him too.
tae
The response had taken a while for someone who texted as fast as Tae usually texted. a few seconds later, a picture came through, but it pretty much only showed the ceiling. The next one did manage to show parts of Tae's face, even if it was bloodied, bruised and swollen. Yoongi frowned, indicating the hand visible in the corner.
"Looks like a dislocated thumb. Might have gotten out of cuffs. I've done that, hurts like a bitch."
hang in there, kid, i'm going to get you. i'm on my way rn with y, j and jh.
is jimin okay? ten? everyone alive? a simple yes works
He didn't want to overdo it and drive the kid nuts trying to respond. He just wanted to know if they were alive and well. He was worried that maybe someone wasn't but Tae hadn't mentioned it yet. Jungkook leaned forward and frowned, feeling kind of sick seeing Tae like that. It wasn't fun any more, not like it once was. "Poor bastard."
"That's a lot of horror for ten letters," Yoongi observed, putting a hand on Jungkook's knee. "Relax. If he can still text, he's probably not dying." Although it looked like a bad beating, if the bit of his face they'd seen was any indication.
J-Hope had gone very pale, just staring at the texts and wishing he couldn't guess what they might mean. "It's happening right now, right?" That was what was going on.
Another picture came through, clearly wobbly since Tae had to pick the phone up for it, but it showed Jimin, chained to a bed, with blood on his face and down his neck.
Holy shit. What did he even say to them? God. That poor kid. Was he being raped or... probably that but he didn't even want to know. Namjoon tried to keep his cool, giving Jungkook a wary look. He was young, should he be seeing this kind of thing. He knew that was stupid but at the same time, Kookie felt young. Too young. He didn't want him involved any more than he wanted Tae, Jimin and Ten.
At the picture of Jimin, he winced. The boys pants were around his knees but at least his underwear was still on. It didn't really confirm anything but it was not a pretty sight. He clicked off it quickly so Yoongi didn't have to see it for long.
stay calm we are coming we need cheon's attention. where is he rn?
Well, that sounded like a nice nightmare, certainly painted a picture. Hobi swallowed, looking at Yoongi briefly. Once more the man's face was unreadable, but he saw death in those eyes. Cheon had made so many mistakes. "Are you planning on telling Tae to alert Cheon to the phone, Namjoon?" J-Hope was just asking. "Seems risky."
"Nope, I'm not that stupid. I think the best method is to either text him and get the alert to make a sound when Cheon is in the room or we just approach him. He's not in the room with Jimin and Tae, they're safe but..." He didn't want to say anything about Ten with Hobi right there but he was the only one with Cheon right now. They stood a good chance of stopping him before he got to Jimin.
"It's your call, Yoongi."
how long have they been out there? any ideas? it's okay if you don't know.
Of course it was his call. It would always be his call. Yoongi knew he couldn't show any weakness right now, even knowing that J-Hope was staring at him, knowing that it meant that it was entirely on him if he made the wrong call. One move might be riskier for Ten, but he supposed nothing much could be done there and since he was supposedly something of an ally, he might survive. The other move was very likely to get Tae hurt or worse.
"We'll approach." No hesitation, outwardly, which left no room for argument. "I'll head out alone to negotiate. J-Hope, you need to get into position fast."
"Me and Jungkook will scale the place, we'll try and find another exit. If we can't, we'll be at the front and we'll wait for your signal." They had to get in to Tae and Jimin, it was top priority. He just hoped they could save Ten, he really didn't like the look on J-Hope's face right now. As they pulled up, Namjoon tried to keep cool, wishing he could assure Hobi it'd be okay.
Tae figured that if he was about to die - and he certainly felt like it - he at least went out with something positive. He wanted to say something else to Jimin, but in the end all he managed was a smile before passing out again.
Hobi put his rifle together, looking around before even leaving the car. He had t find a good vantage point quickly and he had to somehow keep his nerves. This was so much easier when there was more preparation time and when there wasn't... Well, Ten. He didn't know why, but this hadn't even felt like this when it had been about Namjoon all that time back. Maybe because he saw Ten as his to protect and he already felt as if he'd failed him.
He started his ascend and Yoongi walked up to the building, exuding confidence he didn't feel. Nothing new there. He walked right up to the door, knocking it with his fist, but only three times.
"Ko Cheon?! This is Min Yoongi. I believe you have something that's mine. We should negotiate!"
Cheon let go of Ten almost immediately, pushing him aside as he did his pants up. Min Yoongi, here? That was kind of as planned, but it seemed too fast. He cursed under his breath, trying to refocus his mind. "Who's with you?!"

Cheon, of course.
Yoongi finished typing, hating how he was back to having nothing to do right now. He had to find Jimin, he knew that Jimin would believe that he was going to save him.
