"That's quite the dream," Yoongi mused while taking another sip from this cocktail. Whatever, he could get used to it. This one was less sweet, he noted that Jimin seemed to try and look for what his preferences might be and that alone was adorable to him. Everything about Jimin tended to be adorable to him anyway. "I never have dreams that make that much sense, at least I can't remember afterwards."
he reached inside his jacket and got a small box out, although bigger than the one that had held the earrings. He handed it to Jimin, giving a nod. "You can have that."
Maybe he could say it a bit nicer this time. "I want you to have that."
Inside was a pendant in the shape of a gun, hanging off a silver chain. Of course it was real white gold and set with black and white diamonds and worth a lot, but that didn't matter. He had thought of Jimin seeing it, probably because he'd given his gun to Namjoon yesterday.
"Oh, woah. It already looks pretty." The box alone looked expensive. He reached out and took it, pulling it in close with wonder in his eyes. He slowly unwrapped the bow and opened it up, looking over the gift with a small smile. It was a gun. Heh, it looked like a real one too. Only smaller, prettier and shiny. He liked this one more than the real ones. "Oh! It's beautiful!"
He swiftly put it on, doing it up at the back and adjusting it proudly. He loved it!
"This is the best gun. I never like holding the guns. Namjoon-hyung and Tae always try to get me too but I don't think I want one." He liked this one. He playfully held it like a real gun and pretended to use the mini thing to shoot his fellow work mate. He was such an ass.
"Glad you're putting it to good use." Yoongi was amused more than anything, putting a hand on Jimin's thigh because no one could see that anyway and he wanted to touch him. "I'll get you things that are more you next time. But I wanted you to have something that's me."
He took the gun into his hand, letting it rest on his palm as he looked at it. "Those are black diamonds. I'm partial to them, if I wear any diamonds at all. There's white ones too, obviously. Whole thing is white gold."
"This is me. Cause it's you. We are together so ... whatever you like, I like." Jimin smiled and playfully, he poked Yoongi under the table with his foot. He liked the way he touched him, every touch was a further confirmation that they had something. Even if they couldn't be open about the something, it was there. He felt it.
Looking down, he went somewhat wide eyed when he heard the specifics. "That's must have been expensive! How did you afford it?-- Wait, no, that's dumb." Through crime, dumbass. "You spoil me."
"I have a lot of money." Well, that was hardly a secret, but it was adorable how Jimin asked him anyway. Yoongi resisted the urge to kiss him, but it was already a struggle. Damn. He'd have to figure out how to best get some private time. "I want to spoil you." Might as well be open about that. "Do you like that? Do you like expensive things?"
He wasn't sure whether Jimin cared, but he suspected that he might learn to care. Most people did, sooner or later.
"I don't care either way if it's expensive but I really like getting things from you. They remind me of you." Jimin looked at the necklace and stroked his fingers along the diamonds. He did like how fancy it was, he never had anything like this before. "It's cool to have fancy things, makes me feel like I'm special. Even though I'm not all that special."
He giggled excitedly and looked up at Yoongi, beaming at him. "Oh! I got you something. Can I give it to you? It's really good!" Oh yeah, he totally forgot - he had something waiting just in case Yoongi came by today.
"You are special." Yoongi said it quietly, but without hesitation, while tightening his hold on Jimin's thigh for just a moment. "That's why I'm with you."
Not openly, of course, but here he was. He wanted to keep Jimin safe, but he didn't want him to think that he wasn't amazing. Yoongi was still not quite sure how Jimin managed to keep charming him, but he certainly did. "You got me something? Huh." He had not been expecting that. "Of course, you can give me whatever you want."
"I'm glad you think I'm special." Jimin wanted to kiss him but he resisted, getting to his feet instead and missing his warm touch against his thigh. Jimin hurried off in his usual peppy way, stopping only to grab what he'd gotten Yoongi.
When he returned, he just had a brown paper bag. He opened it up and inside was a blueberry muffin. It wasn't much but he had wanted to get it for him. "It's not much but I figured people don't often get you baked goods and it's always nice to get a muffin."
"...that's really nice of you." That was adorable. Yoongi looked into the bag again and then felt himself smiling in spite of himself, his heart hurting a little. How was Jimin so cute? He should never let him near Min Holly, both of them in one room might not be something he was able to survive. "Thank you so much. I didn't really eat lunch yet, so this is perfect." It was dinner time, but whatever. He had a muffin, he was happy.
"When do you finish work, Jimin?" The hell with this. He wanted to kiss him.
"You should eat the muffin then. It's a good one, that bakery is great. I get my breakfast there and I saw this muffin, I wanted to get it for you." Jimin beamed at how well received his little gift was and hell, that smile. Every time Yoongi smiled, as rare as it was, it hurt him. In a good way. It was the most beautiful smile. "I love to make you happy."
Looking over at the clock, he frowned at it before shrugging. "About an hour. It's dead though so it's really dragging."
"I have to go handle some business..." Yoongi looked at his watch, debating how long he'd be. It was hard to predict. "I'll send a car for you, after work. They'll take you to my place. I'll send one of my guards, you'll recognise him." He trusted them to be discreet, so it seemed like the best solution on the whole.
"I don't know when I'll get home, but you can just make yourself comfortable. I have a television, I have a kitchen, whatever. Help yourself." That was not the ideal way to set up what he supposed could count as their first date, but he didn't have the patience to wait for a better opportunity. "Min Holly likes people, so he won't mind you being there. He's not allowed on the furniture and he always goes on the furniture, so you might as well let him. I can't say no."
Something else they had in common, his dog and Jimin. Strange thought to have, but true. "Does that sound okay for you?"
He frowned and leaned forward, brushing some hair out of Jimin's face. "I want to kiss you tonight and there's no other way, so I'll just have to kidnap you."
"You can always kidnap me." Jimin told him, easily melting into his light touch. God, he'd go anywhere for him right now. This is the kind of love he daydreamed about, the kind of love he wanted when he was sitting around the hospital. Admittedly, it was less secret but there was a boy who loved him, who wanted to be with him. That was enough in many ways.
"I'm sure I can make myself at home. There's a puppy to pet, I'll be happy."
He really wanted to lean in, to kiss his cheek and fall into his arms but he stayed strong. He knew how to behave. "I'll be good for you and I'll wait. Just don't leave me waiting too long."
"I'll try my best. Trust me, Jimin, if I had the choice I'd be taking you home with me right the fuck now." With that Yoongi got up, picking up the cocktail for one last sip. Hey, he had almost finished it. He reached for the brown bag, holding it up as he looked at Jimin. "I'm going to finish this in the car."
He paused before turning around, just looking at Jimin and hoping he could relay at least a fraction of what he was feeling with his gaze. "You look beautiful, Jimin. You are beautiful." Inside and out.
"Thank you. You have the most beautiful smile I've ever seen."
He just felt like Yoongi should know that. He didn't want him to leave but he say there, smiling and knowing he'd get him later. He just had to be patient. Too bad that he wasn't the best about being patient, he was going to have a restless day. "Enjoy your muffin!"
In the end it was almost two hours after Jimin arrived that Yoongi came home, as much as he had tried to hurry things along. He hadn't forgotten about Jimin, of course, but he still frowned when Min Holly didn't come to greet him by the door. Yoongi took his shoes off, then hung up his jacket, already looking much more casual in just a t-shirt and jeans when he walked further into his place, calling out.
Jimin was on the floor, sprawled out with Min Holly lying on his chest, contently licking his face. He didn't even notice Yoongi entering until Yoongi spoke, and then Min Holly flew across the room, jumping excitedly at his owner. Jimin giggled and pulled himself upright, beaming brightly at Yoongi and doing the same without thinking about it. He really did have a lot of dog like traits himself.
He ran over to Yoongi and threw his arms around him, assuming that since they were alone, he could touch him. "I missed you!"
Yoongi smiled and wrapped his arms around Jimin in turn, although he bent down for a moment to pet Min Holly, since it didn't seem right to neglect one for the other. He wanted to tell Jimin that it was ridiculous to claim to have missed him when they'd just been together a few hours ago, but instead he looked right into his eyes and smiled. "I missed you too."
Honestly, it was true. "Did you make yourself at home?"
"I mostly just played with Min Holly. I kind of forgot about anything else." He shrugged his shoulders before he bent down, picking up Min Holly so they could both get pets at the same time. It kind of worked. "I played fetch a little and then we just cuddled. Your place is so nice. So big! I got a little lost when I tried to explore so I stopped doing it."
He was joking, he'd never tried to explore but this place was big. Swanky too. He supposed crime really did pay. "You have a great view."
"I do. Though I've no idea what I have it for, all I ever do is play with Min Holly too." And now Jimin, apparently. Yoongi smiled and kissed the top of Min Holly's head, then turned his head so he could kiss Jimin's cheek. "All right, I need dinner and I need a shower, then we can hang out."
He almost invited Jimin to join him in the shower, but for one thing he just wanted to feel clean and for another, it seemed as if they should do this slower. More special. That's what he wanted, anyway. "Are you hungry?"
"I'm kind of hungry. Can you cook? That's so cool. I always wanted to learn how to cook but Tae didn't know and neither did I. We just ate ramen and whatever was cheap at the street stands." They really didn't have a kitchen area either so it was whatever they could get their hands on. Jimin sat back on the floor, cuddling Min Holly close to his person.
"I didn't get to ever really have a kitchen so I never had any choice. Not that I really like food but it seems interesting." He liked to watch people cook, even if he wasn't all that into eating it.
"I can cook. When..." Yoongi wasn't sure how much of his life story was really relevant here, so he just took a shortcut, focusing on the important bit. "I've worked at a restaurant for a while. I'm not the best, but good enough."
With that he headed into the kitchen, luckily right adjoined to where Jimin was sitting anyway. He started chopping an onion roughly, not really feeling like anything fancy. "You can use a rice cooker, right?"
He pointed the rice cooker out, waiting for Jimin to make a move. "So you don't really like food, huh? Anything you don't eat?"
"That sounds like fun. Working in a restaurant is nothing like what you do now though, it's kind of weird." He moved into the kitchen and lurked around the rice cooker, he'd only ever used one a few times growing up so it had been a while but it wasn't exactly tricky. "I can work on. Gimme a sec." He made sure it was plugged it, got the rice and started making two cups.
"I'll eat anything but sometimes I just don't like to. I have a lot of problems with food for a while." One of the reasons he had to go into the hospital. He was getting over it these days, thanks to Tae. Food bothered him less.
He even enjoyed some of it. "I think in some ways, I just stopped liking it to spite people."
"My position is inherited. The Min family has been running things for generations. But my father wanted me to earn my spot, so I essentially got kicked out when I was a teen, with Namjoon. We lived on the streets for a while, like you and Tae. I got a job at a restaurant around that time. It was a good gig, got free food there too. Namjoon got kicked out, because he can't hold things without dropping them."
It was like a curse. Yoongi threw the onions into a pan and added some carrots he'd found in the fridge, then he leaned next to the stove, turning so he could look at Jimin. "I hope you won't want to spite me then. I don't want to worry about you." That talk about food was definitely worrying to him.
"I've seen him drop a lot of stuff, you're not wrong. It's nice though, to have a friend like that. Tae is like your Namjoon, he's so important to me because he's always been there when I needed him. He's my best friend." He leaned over the top of the rice cooker, watching the rice slowly start to cook with a small, curious look. It was fun to do stuff like this, it was kind of homey and felt normal.
"As long as you don't stop me living a life, I won't spite you." Jimin warned him with a hint of playfulness. "A lot of my problems are better now I'm just living. They wanted to keep me locked up and I hated it. You can't be happy if you're trapped." He turned and nudged his body gently against Yoongi. "You make me happy."
"I'm glad." Yoongi frowned a little in spite of his words, looking at Jimin thoughtfully. He finally pulled him against himself, wrapping both arms around him so he could keep him close while looking into his eyes. "There's many ways of being trapped, you know?"
He was sure that Jimin knew, perhaps better than most. Still, they should probably discuss this. "If you and me is going to last... If that's what you want, then eventually people will know. I'll want people to know. That doesn't mean I'd make out with you in public, but they'd know you're mine. You could be by my side sometimes." If his intense need to be with Jimin continued like this, he saw it become inevitable. "But if you are with me officially, that'd come with safety precautions for you. With some obligations."
