"I think we all would." Namjoon smiled, relieved to see them getting on so nicely. He set down the tray and slid it to the middle, getting out Tae's kids meal and sprite, setting them in front of him and offering him a spoon and fork. They were still working on mastering chop sticks. "The Rabbit on the moon must be so busy."
Making Mochi all day. That wasn't really an easy thing to achieve.
"TaeTae, eat as much as you can, yeah? Fighting!" Making sure his boy stayed well fed was always number one but sometimes Tae got distracted by the world and his little daydreams that he didn't eat. "I bet you can eat more than Yoongi-hyung. Do you think you can?"
Looking at Yoongi, he smiled a little. "We ate a lot last time we hung out. Eventually. Sushi for breakfast was great."
"I should have made you breakfast instead. Next time." Because he definitely wanted there to be a next time of that. He wanted there to be a lot of next times and first times and getting along with Tae was definitely key to that. Luckily the kid was adorable.
"How are you gonna eat?" Tae eyed Yoongi thoughtfully and then nodded in approval when he pulled down the face mask so his mouth was free. "Don't worry. If anyone sees you, I'll run over to the other corner and point at someone and yell that it's Agust D and while everyone checks, you can escape."
"That's a great plan. You are smart like your brother, huh?" Yoongi ate, hoping that no one would recognise him.
"Oh, he's a fellow genius." Namjoon teased with a smile as he shoved a load of noodles eagerly into his mouth. He skipped lunch today so this was all he'd been waiting for all day. He was seriously just wolfing it all down. Well, he never pretended to be better than this. "So, hyung, we all set for Tokyo?"
He had his passport and Tae's too, he'd talked to his personal assistant and all seemed okay but he wanted to really make sure.
"Oh yeah, all is set. You have a room next to mine, so we can hang a lot." Yoongi went through what he remembered of the Japan preparations for himself and most of it had little to do with Namjoon and Tae, so he just nodded again. We'll sit with each other on the flight.
"Can I sit in the middle?" Tae didn't want to not sit next to Namjoon, but he also really wanted to sit next to his idol.
"Yeah, of course you can. It's your birthday trip, right? Whatever you want."
"I want to go to Disneyland! Namjoon-hyung said we can."
"We'll make it happen," Yoongi promised, "I'll probably be too busy for that, but I'll spend time with you whenever I can. And you'll come to the concerts?"
"Do we really get to?" It seemed like a dream come true. But Tae frowned, looking at Namjoon. "Do we have enough money? We never had money for tickets..."
"We don't have money for tickets but Yoongi-hyung is gonna be sooooo nice and let us come by paying for us. I'm gonna see if I can swing Disneyland, yeah?" God. That was gonna be pricey. He'd started saving way back but he was unsure if he could use all of it and if it's work. He was confident... but wary.
He wished he had more money for Tae but he also had life, bills and his own commuting needs. He would find a way to do Disneyland, he wouldn't let him down.
"We'll go to Disneyland, maybe get you a little Stitch and we can get a gift for Yoongi. That'll pay for the tickets." Pfft. As if it'd even be close to the cost.
Looking up at Yoongi, he shrugged his shoulders a little. He would get paid there, he might have enough to at least get him something neat. "It's gonna be great to be next to each other. We can always hang out... we'll have so much time." It was exciting. Too bad he had Tae or he'd suggest they got laid more. "Thanks again. For everything/"
"You know, my assistant, she really likes Disneyland. She's been before, she knows all the tricks. I'll ask her if she can't take you and then it will be a lot cheaper." And obviously he intended to pay for all of it, but he could discuss that with Namjoon later. He didn't want him to feel uncomfortable about accepting money, especially around Tae.
"It's okay, I know you're really rich. But presents are nice, even when you have a lot of money! And also we watch your videos all the time so we made you a lot of money." Tae was very happy with his reasoning, even more so when Yoongi smiled and nodded in agreement.
He reached over so he could hold Namjoon's hand again. "I want you there. You don't have to thank me. Thank you for coming. Besides, I hear you did a really good job on the translation thing they sent you, so my staff is happy with you already too."
"Kookie made you so much money. He watched the video non stop all Saturday because he had a very important job. Then he sang the song too." He was a cute kid, he was around more and more these days, the busier his mom was getting - he really loved to just watch Agust D videos and amuse himself. What an easy to handle kid.
He didn't talk more about Disneyland, he settled for a nod. After all, he knew that it could be an issue to talk money in front of Tae.
"I'm glad, I like language. I always did. I used to watch Friends all the time back when we were at home. I used to go to my room, put netflix on my phone and make TaeTae behave while we watched." That was pretty much how he learned. Not from school or anything like that. Just a love of a sitcom.
"I heard how he sang 'So far away'. He needs to sing for me again some time. And you, TaeTae, I've heard all about how much you like it. Rapping too."
Tae's eyes widened, because this was Agust D and he was still wrapping his mind around that sometimes, so he nodded happily, smiling as he focused on his food. He didn't even know what to say.
"I'm not that good in English. I don't really want to speak it. I should work on learning it, but eh." He had so much else to do.
"It's not so hard to learn, I promise. I can tutor you. I have students all the time who tell me they aren't good at English and they're always better than they think. Tae is good at English. Aren't you, bud?" Well, he could say his name, age and introduce himself pretty basically but that was still really good for a kid his age. He kept trying to encourage him to learn more and more.
Language was a great skill and the earlier it's learned, always the better.
"My Japanese is less good but it's not bad, you know?"
"My Japanese is so-so. But I guess you could tutor me... That'd take a lot of time though." Yoongi laughed and looked at Tae, who swallowed and was now eager to show off, failing at volume control and pretty much yelling.
"My name is Tae and I'm very good! I like alien. Hello, alien!" Tae ended with a wave and then proudly looked from his brother to Yoongi, thinking that he'd done a really good job.
"The aliens are gonna be happy to meet someone as smart and polite as you."
"Tae, volume. Little quieter. I know the aliens are in space but like I said before, they have tech. You don't gotta yell, they're listening." Namjoon grinned and then decided to switch, just to play with Tae and Yoongi. He always had a lot of fun talking English. "You're both pretty good but English can be tricky. It's all about confidence and willingness, I guess. Tae has a lot of confidence. Too much sometimes. He yells. I'm sure even the rabbit on the moon can hear."
Laughing in amusement, he reached out to playfully flick his brothers nose.
"You're getting so good, Tae. What are your hobbies? Can you tell Yoongi? What do you like to do?" He mimed a little, hoping he'd get it. It was a good excuse to educate him.
Tae didn't understand most of what Namjoon had said, so he simply didn't listen till he said his name again. Hobbies? He could do that. "Panda Express!" That could be a hobby. "Rapping." There was a certain safety in sticking to words that were the same in both languages.
"Look at that, TaeTae, you and me have the same hobbies." Yoongi smiled, notinc some people glancing his way and choosing to put the face mask on properly again. "Hey, Mr Teacher? Wait with the lesson until we're in the classroom, I'm on a date here."
"Sorry, always on teacher mode. We can have a stroll now, if you feel like it? Lemme clean this up." He stacked the plates up on the tray again and took Tae's empty bowl, pushing his can of sprite closer in the hopes he'd drink it now and not take it with him. Cause when he took stuff with him, it meant Namjoon had to hold it. And that always sucked so much.
He liked to have free hands. He cleaned up, passed his plates along to the counter and came back over, holding his hands out to his boys. "Yoongi-hyung, you wanna hold my hand? Tae says he's too cool to do it now." It came and went but this morning, he was too cool.
"I could hold Yoongi-hyung's hand." Tae was just saying. That was pretty cool. He finished off his sprite and got up, bouncing a little and, yeah, he was probably too energetic to hold anybody's hand. "Can we buy clothes?!"
"I thought you'd be more excited about toys." Yoongi got up, his face once more hidden, but he very readily reached for Namjoon's hand, true to his declaration that he didn't want to hide this. "We can walk and stop if we see a shop we like."
"We won't get far, I think the sugar hyped kid is gonna lead us everywhere and -- Tae! Get out of that store and stay close!" The energetic boy had bounced his way right into a ladies lingerie shop. Bless his tiny heart, what was he doing? "Clothes are this way. I guess we can check some out. I haven't gone clothes shopping in a while... is that obvious?"
Cause Hobi kept telling him it was. "I dunno, man, it's either I buy clothes or I buy a coffee and sandwich on the way to work... and I really like my cheap sandwich and coffee, you know?"
"Food was on you, Joon-ah, but shopping is on me. So stop worrying about the price." Yoongi moved a little as they walked, so he could brush his body against Namjoon's, smirking at Tae just hopping right back out of the shop with unbroken enthusiasm. "What, that outside the box place you occupy doesn't have lingerie?"
"Shut up." He playfully punched Yoongi, laughing a little and dragging them into a store that sold kids clothes. Brand kid clothes. As in pictures of cartoons, anime and fun things were on the front. Dinosaurs, Pokemon, pirates, disney, whatever. It looked like a great place to get Tae something.
"What do you want from here, bud? Go look around." Namjoon let go of Yoongi's hand so he pick put up an adorable shirt with an octopus on, showing Yoongi. "That's so damn adorable. I want stuff like this for adults!"
Tae had a lot of ideas for what he wanted and Hobi had told him that he should get everything, and make sure that Namjoon got a lot of stuff too. He liked that Hobi had said that and he looked around very seriously, picking up a lot of stuff and holding it up against himself thoughtfully, often only to keep looking. A lot of scrutiny was needed here, but he had a gradual pile of stuff he really wanted.
The shirt made Yoongi smile, as he pulled the face mask down so his smile could actually be visible. "You'd look cute in that." Well, he would. "Make your brother wear it? He can be cute for you to look at." Seemed like a good compromise.
And there was Tae, talking to the woman by the checkout to ask her where Gucci was.
"I-- I should stop him." Namjoon burst into laughter as he hurried over, smiling apologetically at the lady. "Sorry, bad advise from a friend." Lifting his boy up, he held him in his arms and walked back over to Yoongi. "I don't care what Hobi said, you don't need Gucci. Just pick cute things or things you like. Cool things."
And not the most expensive stuff, just because they had money.
"Look at this, it's a rabbit." It was a cheap piece of clothing compared to some of the brands here but it was also adorable and the rabbit looked an odd colour, definitely appealing for Tae. "It's a green bunny... it's an alien. Also I'm pretty sure Kookie would die to see you in that."
Turning his head, he smiled at Yoongi. "As you well know, Kookie loves bunnies."
"So I've heard. Get two of that shirt, they have it in tinier. You can give that to your friend, TaeTae." Tae looked at Yoongi with big, grateful eyes and then spontaneously hugged him, less because he was giving him stuff and more because he was giving him stuff to buy for his friends. For Kookie and he was sure he could get something for Jimin as well.
Because he was making Namjoon happy and he just had to hold him and then he was crying a little and Yoongi noticed, kneeling down so he could hug him back properly.
"Everything okay? Are you hurting?" He wasn't sure where that mood swing had come from and Tae just shook his head, turning to look at Namjoon and explain.
Namjoon crouched down with him and gently stroked his hair, looking at Yoongi with a small smile, sad and full of emotion. Good emotion. "No one has ever been this nice to us, you know? I mean Hobi and Jin, they do their best but they're not like this, yeah? They don't just get us stuff. Stuff for our friends. Kookie doesn't get a lot of treats, he's gonna be so happy. Isn't he, Tae?"
He sensed that his brother was overwhelmed so he wrapped his arms around him from behind, pulling him back and into his lap, sitting on the shop floor. Whatever, they were gonna spend a lot of cash here.
They could sit on the floor if they wanted.
"It's a happy crying. We're so grateful, Yoongi. Thank you so much for everything." He couldn't have been more lucky. "We both love you. It's just -- crazy!"
"I see." They were so precious. Yoongi wondered what it'd take for Namjoon to start crying too. He smiled and watched as Tae slowly pulled himself together again, having nodded at his brother's explanations. "We can go shopping a lot, TaeTae, when I can make the time. You can buy gifts for all your friends. And for Joon-ah."
Tae smiled and hugged Namjoon, then pulled him down so he could whisper in his ear. "I really, really like him."
"I really like him too." He whispered it back, kissing Tae on the forehead and hugging him close. Oh yeah, he teared up a little. Maybe a lot. Maybe he cried. He got up and lifted Tae with him, holding him close and walking away a little so he could pull himself together and man up. He was not going to cry in front of his boyfriend! "Lets, uh, let's see what TaeTae got to buy today, yeah?"
Anything to take the attention off his potential crying.
He looked at the pile that Tae had selected and studied them, nodding in approval and sniffing a little. "Tae, your brother isn't cool, help me stop being a dork." Crying was not an option, he needed Tae to have his back. "Help me pretend I'm cooler."
"Maybe you need sunglasses..." Hiding his face seemed like a good start. Tae was smiling again, hugging Namjoon tightly. "You have to make sure he gets you cool stuff, then you'll look cool!" Seemed simple enough. "Get those shoes you like!" They had discussed this before, after all.
Yoongi left the two brothers to their moment, not wanting to interfere, so he looked at the adorable kids stuff instead and wished they made more of that in his size too. He'd have to look around for some cute stuff, maybe he'd have an opportunity to wear it. At least for a music video or something. "Are you ready to pay and move on to the next store, Kim brothers?"
"We are ready." Namjoon managed to get his shit together, placing all the clothes on the counter and looking sheepishly at the total. He wanted to protest more but Yoongi seemed so confident and to him, this was probably nothing. He didn't want Tae to feel bad for his purchases so he just smiled and bounced him a little. "You're gonna look so cool, TaeTae."
He took one of the bags and let Yoongi take the others, still holding Tae close... well, they had to hug right now. They were kind of melt downy and that meant sticking close. As they walked along, Namjoon looked around. "Where next, Tae? Any ideas?" Namjoon was so bad buying for himself, he'd let these two handle it.
