"I feel like a loser every time I do anything." Jungkook joked, unable to help himself. Even though he got told that he was a talent and a triple threat or whatever, he didn't feel like it. He felt like he always had to prove that he wasn't a total loser. "I watch some guys on youtube who sings songs or rap like this and it helps in the moment so I'm sure this one is going to be a good comfort."
"You are a perfectionist, Jungkook. I get that. I am too. Workaholic, perfectionist, and I know that it doesn't matter what other people say, good or bad, it's my own standards I struggle to live up to." Minjun wasn't sure how encouraging all of this was, so he tried to at least bond over it. "I think what you need to perfect is believing in yourself. I believe in you!"
"I should love myself. That's what my favourite rapper always says. Favourite outside of you, of course. Loving yourself is just important. Learning to. No one does it easily but you have to learn it." And he was trying. He wanted to love himself and get better at enjoying things he did and believing that he was doing it well - even if it wasn't always easy.
"You like Agust D, huh? Yeah, that guy's a lot better at those quotes than I am. I ramble too much." Not that he envied it hugely, it wasn't as if he didn't have enough things to print on stuff even without the great inspirational quotes. "It's hard to love yourself sometimes, because you know yourself so well, but, hey. I think you're pretty lovable, so take it easy on yourself. And also, don't drink as much as hyung. Bad idea."
"Nevermind is a really good song." He felt like it was a good way to think but he was angrier than Jungkook ever really felt. He didn't get angry easily, he more got upset and cried - more wussy but he couldn't help it. He got out his youtube app and slid his chair closer to Minjun so he could show him his subscription list. "See, that's Agust D's channel, he has a lot of cool stuff. You should listen to it. These two are good too. Oh! And this one."
He just idly scrolled through, excited to share his music with the music God that was GD.
It was so cute that Minjun didn't find it in him to discourage him. Besides, it wasn't as if he was going to get much done anyway, might as well see what the kids listened to these days. "He's got the skills, yeah." Not that he hadn't already known that, but he didn't have the time to listen to all releases for anyone right now, so it wasn't really stuff he already knew. "I saw some PA spill water on him and then hug him, that was fun."
"Why did they hug him?" That was weird. It sounded weird. Jungkook raised an eyebrow before smiling a little and opening up twitter, searching for what he wanted to find before showing Minjun a picture of Agust D and the guy who threw water at him. "It's this guy, right? He was trending yesterday cause people wanted to know who he was. People think it might be a secret collab or something cause they look like they know each other and apparently the guy has a youtube channel of his own. It's old but he was like a rapper or something."
He typed it into youtube and then showed Minjun the channel. "Rap Monster."
"That's a fun name." Pretty ridiculous, but hey. Somewhere Minjun had a whole notebook full of potential stage names, he didn't think less of anyone for that, it was just entertaining. "Show me how good he is. Or was, I guess, those were all uploaded a while ago." He was curious. "He did step on my shoe and I told him I'm his fan, so I should know his work."
"I don't know if he's good, hyung. I just know he was on here. He stopped ages ago, he looks young in the videos." He opened one up and propped his phone against some candy bars on the table, turning up the volume and watching curiously. He was pretty good, actually. He didn't always understand his lyrics, he moved too fast and the words were complicated, often in English, it was a bit tricky but it seemed good. Of course he wasn't a rapper so he wasn't about to say either way, he waited for Minjun to judge it.
"He is good. Good English, good wordplay, good tempo and flow. Pretty impressive, for someone that age." Minjun frowned, scrolling down to the comments just to see, then going back up so he could give it a like. Jungkook's phone, but still. "It's got promise. Wonder if he'd be willing to join an idol group. How's your rap line doing, Kookie?"
"Erm... we don't have one. All our potential rappers were better singers and our coach is still trying to work with some to change them but -- it's hard." Their potential group was supposed to be hiphop but so far, Jungkook was the best rapper of the group and it just wasn't a passion of his. He hoped he didn't get put in as a rapper. "I think we have two potential rappers. Maybe. You should talk to Jiho-nim, he knows better."
He looked at Namjoon and then frowned. "Do you think he could be in a group?"
"Why not? He's not that much older than you, I'd guess, but I could set Jiho on it. Maybe invite him over. If you had someone who can produce and write songs on this level, it'd give your group a leg up on the competition." Which he'd love, he wanted to see his juniors succeed. "I may look into it. I always like a project when we do album releases, keeps me from obsessing too much. More work."
"Probably smart. Speaking of, hyung. We should probably go home and sleep before we get into trouble." If they were still here at 6am, they were bound to be scolded. Or, at least, Jungkook would be. He got up slowly and bowed to his hyung, curious if he really would look up this guy. He picked up his phone and sent the link of the channel to GD hyung. "There you go, that's the rap monster channel. He has like 10 videos on there."
"Thanks. I'll give him a heart attack when I hit him up." That was, admittedly, fun to think about. Minjun grinned and then started turning off the various devices, figuring that he should really head home too. He was chilly, he wanted to go and sleep with Gyungho. "I'll be anticipating your debut, Kookie. Fighting."
