Maybe the fact that Yoongi opened the door with his hair doing something weird, sleep lines on his face and a yawn would help. He was wearing a bathrobe and he held the door open for Ten, already looking apologetic. "Sorry. I fell asleep after showering."
And now Ten was dressed nicely and looked amazing and he looked like shit. He groaned, rubbing his face. "Sorry. Sorry, I look awful." Why was this happening to him?
"You look cute, don't worry. You always look cute. I've told you that like a billion times." Rolling his eyes, Ten let himself in and then reached up, slightly amused, and ruffled Yoongi's sleep tussled hair. "You know, people spend hours in the mirror trying to get this look. You just wake up with it."
Tasking lightly, Ten came in and looked around - nothing had been moved up the bed sheets and the bathroom door so he probably really did just shower and sleep. Seemed about right. "Your bandmates are having a very loud dinner downstairs.."
"I know. They've been texting. And they are always very loud." Which was just fine, Yoongi didn't mind, as long as they left him alone sometimes. Especially right now. He tightened the bathrobe a little around himself and then walked into the room, gesturing to one of the chairs by the table. "Sit down. I ordered dinner for about now, so I'm guessing it's gonna be here in a minute."
And he really wished he was at least wearing boxers. Damn it, he should have set an alarm. "I like to post selfies from there." He gestured to the bed. "Like. Wear a bathrobe, be in bed, post a selfie. All the teenage girls freak out."
"I can imagine And it's not just teenage girls. I know a guy downstairs who does it too. He's sweet, he's my friend's boyfriend and he's a big fan." Ten smiled a little as he walked across the room and looked out of his window, enjoying the view. "Do you want to put pants on? I can't imagine you feel comfortable right now so go ahead and do it. I won't mind."
He could stay out of his way. "I can also get the door for food." After all, he knew the people involved and he was kind of excited for them to expect Min Yoongi and get him instead. Heh. Funny.
"Good to know I can get boys horny too." Yoongi said it drily, but also with a small smile. And, yeah, he moved over to open up his suitcase, given that he had the opportunity. He definitely couldn't make it through this knowing that Ten knew that he was naked under this. "I'll be right back."
Maybe he should have spent more time figuring out an outfit, but ultimately he just walked into the bathroom carrying black sweatpants and an oversized shirt and emerged shortly after, wearing just that. It was designer stuff, sure, but it really wasn't all that different from what he might have worn years ago. "I heard food come."
And now he could see and smell it, so he sat down with a grin. "Good. I haven't eaten all day."
"Yeah, that sounds like you. Some things never change, huh?"
Though he guess now he ate less because of work and not cause of lack of funds. Not that he worked less now, he probably worked the same. Yoongi was always working. He sat down at the table in his room, the food already arranged either side and he gestured at what he assumed was his plate. "I figured this was mine cause it has a dressing I know you hate. Unless you really changed, in which case? Scary."
Playfully, he stuck out his tongue at Yoongi. "They do really good Thai food here."
"I should hope so. I think they told me that we are flying to Thailand." Yoongi said it with a slight smile, before starting to eat. "I don't eat Thai food often now. It makes me think of you though."
Maybe that was why he didn't eat it often. Although looking at Ten now, it didn't seem as terrifying as it could be. Was it even terrifying at all? Ten seemed to be in a good mood. Seemed to like him. Seemed to be doing well. "I never thought I'd see you again. Guess your taste in food hasn't changed. I still know you well."
He sighed and then looked down at his plate, unsure if he could really just do this all night - play around and keep a distance. He knew it was his old behaviour coming up again. And he couldn't just do that. He was a different person these days.
"I gotta be honest with you. Before I came here, my friend Team, he showed me a song of yours." He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at Yoongi. "I never listened to your solo stuff. I didn't know... you wrote about me."
"...they're not all about you. Seesaw has nothing to do with you!" Yoongi wasn't sure what he was even hoping to achieve with that defence, but he hadn't really expected that. He knew the old Ten, he hadn't thought Ten would be the one to talk serious and to talk about what they were avoiding. He had thought that he'd have to take it there, eventually.
He swallowed and looked up, shrugging his shoulder. "I write about my life. I didn't really... It's just, you know. Emotions."
"It's okay. If you wanted to write about me, I guess you were allowed. It's just a bit of a shock, you know?" He smiled faintly and then looked down, unsure what else to say. He did frown though, looking up. "I didn't hear Seesaw but now I am going to have to listen to that too. Team keeps texting me things that may be about me. I swore him to secrecy, don't worry."
Leaning forward, Ten tried to catch Yoongi's eyes. "You have every right to be pissed at me in songs and to write about me like that cause I sucked. I intentionally sucked. I just -- I didn't expect you to be as nice as you were."
Yeah, he said hate but it was an empty word that was always contradicted.
"What do you mean?" Yoongi could maybe hazard a guess, but this wasn't a time for guessing. He reached out and held on to Ten's hand once more. It just felt more real and more secure when they were holding hands, like it couldn't just all vanish again or turn bad. If they were holding on to each other, than they had to talk this through properly. "I was trying not to think about you and I never really managed that. Dear My Friend, that song? Is that the one? That was supposed to be the last one."
"That's the one I heard. You were pretty nice, given what I did. You also kept saying you missed me and I just -- I miss you too. A lot, actually. Never stopped." He knew he was an idiot to chase Yoongi away but he didn't think he had any choice back then, he wasn't a good friend and he didn't deserve Yoongi. He reached out, holding his hand and smiling sadly at Yoongi. "I wanted to self destruct and I did. For years. And I hated it but that was kind of the point. It was a life I wanted because I was... I was scared. It was never a life I wanted for you."
He swallowed and held onto Yoongi's hand tighter. "I don't regret what I did. I just regret who I was."
"I hate what you did. I'll always hate what you did." And that certainly came out in a lot of songs, even once that weren't really connected to Ten. Yoongi supposed that Ten might learn of that soon enough, given that friend he had who was Army. Saved him the time, he supposed. "I always miss you. You're-- I don't really..."
He sighed, leaning his head forward and staring at the table. "It's lonely. I miss you."
"Of course it is. It's lonely at the top, especially if you don't have friends outside of work. I should have been there for you. I know how much you always needed me... not that I think you needed me that much, I mean look at all you did but... I mean, it was easier for both of us when we had each other." They balanced each other well. Yoongi was his reason and control, he was Yoongi's confidence and positivity.
Leaning forward, he reached out and daringly, he touched Yoongi's face and lightly stroked his cheek. "I know that we have to work on this but I want to be friends again. It'd be nice. We could text and -- you know, it'd be cool to be able to talk again."
"Yeah." Yoongi leaned into Ten's touch and wondered whether Ten had any idea of how much he wanted to pull him up and walk him over to the bed, already kissing, push him down and ravage him. Ravage him, that actual term. That was what he was thinking right now.
He huffed out a breath and shook his head, looking up to look at Ten. What was he supposed to do or say? He was an adult, he was a star. He was supposed to have confidence. "Just friends?"
"Yeah. I mean, unless I get really lucky and you still like a loser like me, probably best we stay friends. I mean I don't know how good my life is these days. It's waaaay better but I'm still paying off a lot of debts and all." He shrugged his shoulders, still embarrassed by his old life because how could he not be? He really did self destruct as planned. "I'm on a good payment plan with the bank and I got new headphones yesterday so things are picking up."
They were wireless and everything. Though they barely fucking worked so there was that. "Win really helped me get my life together."
"...show me your headphones." Honestly, he also just wanted to offer to pay off all his debts for him - he had money after all - but he knew that would be coming on too strong, might make Ten feel embarrassed and a whole host of other effects he'd rather avoid. But Ten having shitty headphones? He could do something about that. Surely that was within an acceptable range for gift-giving. "Win is the owner, right? Your friend." He was just keeping it all straight in his head. "Guess he really is a win for you."
"He's my best friend but you know, I helped him out too. I took him and his boyfriend to an amazing drag club and now his boyfriend has unleashed the side of him that loves crossdressing. It's cute. He works as a drag artist now." It was really precious to see Team grow and embrace parts of himself he didn't before. As he spoke, he looked for his headphones and then pulled them out. They were cheap knock offs of Beats, in-ear ones that looped around his neck. "They sometimes fuck up on bluetooth but for the price, not bad."
"Uh-huh." Damn, these were shit. He supposed he was going to continue the trend of buying his crushes expensive audio equipment. Although, this time, fans were less likely to find out about it. Looking up at Ten again, he smirked. "You know, the new Samsung phone is purple and comes with purple headphones."
And was advertised as the phone for Army, so hey. Although, really, he was thinking something even better for Ten. He wanted the best for him. "I'm glad you have Win. And that Win has a happy crossdressing boyfriend."
And that Win's boyfriend wasn't Ten. All good things. "Glad you have friends. I... I guess you know them, my members. They are good people. Like family."
"I met them briefly. Mostly just you and the hunk. That dude was handsome as fuck. Glad he got to see me crawling around the floor." Ten joked as he pulled out his shitty broken Huawei phone and showed it to Yoongi, it had a large crack and one of the button caps on the side had come off. "I got this like three years ago, it's not great. I'm saving for a Samsung so I can have a good phone."
He was close too but he kept having to buy food. Stupid need to eat. What a bitch it was! "So you and your members do everything together? Reality TV as well. I would never have believed you as the sort to do that."
"It's part of the job. We get more free time these days. More right to tell them to fuck off too. Used to be hell. First show we did, all the young ones collapsed at some point." That had just not been the best time of their lives in a number of ways, but it was in the past now. It was in the past and, damn, was he going to get Ten a new phone as soon as possible. Maybe he could get one by tomorrow, should be doable.
"I don't know what sort I am. This has got to end one day though. Probably soon. I'm getting old." He smirked, not bothered by that. "Then I'll produce. Although performing is-- Full stadiums, you know? I never thought it'd happen."
"You did so well. I'm so proud of you. I know this is what you always wanted and you got it. And I'm so pleased. I mean, I always knew you'd so well but you did so well." He laughed a little and then looked around the room, eyeing up his luggage - expensive brand, that one. "You have a lot of money and a lot of success but you worked hard for it. I remember how much you struggled."
Not eating, walking miles a day, having to deal with being screwed over and God, worst of all - the shoulder pain. "Does your shoulder still hurt these days?"
"Sometimes. If I overexert, but it's not that bad." It was touching, Ten talking about his shoulder with concern. At the time when it had happened, Ten had already been pulling away from him, so logically concern hadn't been the prevailing emotion he showed then.
Yoongi felt something inside him break, but in a good way, if that made any sense. His heart hurt, but he had to smile. "You're gonna make me cry. I'll have to show you the times I crossdressed, then you can make fun of me instead of being sweet."
"I'm not that sweet, I'm still awful. I bet you're still sweet." Ten moved his chair along the table so he could be closer to Yoongi, sliding his food with him as he started to eat some before it got cold, watching him curiously. "Show me you as a girl. I want to see if I'm still attracted to you or not. Sometimes I am. You know, I'm very gay but some of these men when they crossdress?"
Ten whistled and then leaned over to see what Yoongi was going to find him.
"Right. I think I just looked like my aunt." Yoongi searched a video compilation on YouTube and clicked on it, full screening the video for Ten and letting him hold the phone, so he had some time to focus on eating again as well. "Hot, aren't I?" Something like that. "I did like playing with the gun. There is so much fanart of that."
Which he mostly knew because members had shown him before, but hey. He thought it was funny.
