"Hard to say. Probably because he thinks I want to undermine him, set him up to fail and possibly kill him. You know. Sibling stuff." Or at least it was sibling stuff within their family. Minjun supposed it wouldn't translate much outside their circle. "Can't really fault them for that. Any relationship is unlikely to be what it seems around here. I'm sure you know that already, that's why you think my money's gonna bite you."
He pondered that. "Namjoon isn't cut out for it. But it doesn't matter, life will cut him out."
"I don't think your money is gonna bite me, I just don't want to talk money." Was it so hard to get that maybe he didn't want to talk money and get money from a gangster of his standing. This guy was really offended over the money stuff... maybe he should just win big and pay him some extra. He seemed to really love his money. "Once again, sorry I offended you."
He looked down at his beer and debated what to do next. "Maybe if you keep thinking he's not cut out for stuff, he senses it? It happens. What people think of you, you can usually see it in their faces."
"Mhm, you can see everything in my face. You just can't know why." But, no, he didn't have a poker face. Still, he missed when his brother had trusted him, even if he couldn't fault him for not doing it any more. "Anyway, you didn't offend me. If you'd offended me, you'd be dead."
He looked at Gyungho, just scanning him. Wondering what life must be like from his perspective. Hard to imagine. "What makes you a good tazza?"
"I get people and people like me. Being a tazza is about being likeable. If you don't like the guy you're gambling with, you don't miss his tricks." Gyungho supposed it was all about looks in the end. "It's looking hot, being charming and making people trust you. Being good at cards also helps, I guess."
With a smile, he finally sipped his beer. "Also a good tazza loves winning. And I do love winning. I'm usually a loser everywhere but the table so."
"That adds up. Explains why I notice tricks so often." These days, anyway. He used to like and trust people readily, but some things changed rapidly, especially in this business. Minjun looked at Gyungho, glad to see he was finally sipping his beer. Would have been a waste otherwise. Seemed stupid to waste perfectly good beer.
"My appa thinks I'm likeable. Not sure how right he is about that." He smiled winningly. "Do you like me?"
"I don't hate you but I don't know you much. You're hard to read so it makes it difficult. People pick up on that too. If you don't give much, no one wants to get close." It was just how people were, they never liked someone who always seemed to be keeping their cards close to their chest. Minjun wouldn't be a good tazza, he'd be too suspicious. "I'd like you a lot more if you ... wore a silly hat."
Seemed vastly more endearing. "Nothing screams open like a silly hat."
"You are in luck then, I wear silly hats all the time." One of his many fashion statements. Or crimes against fashion, according to his appa. Personally, Minjun just liked to wear what he wanted. Only so many ways to do what he wanted in this business. "Silly hats, huh? See, I like you. Everyone else who's ever given me advice told me to cover up and put on proper clothes."
"No, more silly hats. And instead of cash, why don't you just come sit at my table and hang tomorrow night? You'd scare people off but sometimes I like to take five and relax. Besides, the silly hat is somewhere I can hide my extra cards." He smirked playfully at Minjun and leaned forward. "Come join me some time, we can gamble."
"Sure. I'll bring you good luck." Doubtful, but... Well, he was only human and Gyungho was laying on the charm, would be a shame to not flirt back. He flashed him a smile and then took another sip of banana milk. All right, maybe no drinking before three pm wasn't the worst rule in the world after all. "I'm not that scary, you know? You might be surprised. People gamble where I go."
"I don't think you're scary." Just a bit confusing and not someone to mess with. Which made sense. Gangster royalty was not easy to play around with. "You're sipping banana milk, it's not that scary. Wear a silly hat and you'll be golden."
Getting to his feet, Gyungho bowed politely. "My table has people, Minjun-nim. Tonight, come join me, we can watch me in action. See if I'm worth your cash."
"We'll see. I might just pay you in nuts." Minjun shrugged and shifted, stretching out on the sofa and grabbing a handful of nuts. Ugh, he didn't like them, the sooner he got rid of them the better. Best to eat them all. "I'll come watch you. I like watching you." He didn't feel any need to hide that. He primarily got him for the eye-candy. "See you later, Gyungho-ssi."
