It was a joke. Mostly. If he was about to tell him he was some kind of otherkin lion soul bonder who super wanted to bone lions or whatever then... they were going to have some problems. Ten set his phone aside, pulled one leg under himself and watched Minjun. "Talk to me, sweet boy. What's up?"
"No. I... I'm like Simba, you know? I mean, I didn't kill my father." Wait. "I guess Simba didn't either, but..." All right, this was not going well. Minjun hid his face in his hands and made a sound of frustration, then rubbed his cheeks and looked at Ten again.
"I have an evil uncle. In Korea. Like. Really evil. Gangster. Big time. He is... He was the leader of a gang there. Dark Dragons. In Seoul."
What. Just. What. Hmm. "Gotcha." Was this even real? He wasn't sure. But Minjun did look so upset that he supposed he just had to roll with it. He shuffled closer and reached out, stroking Minjun's cheek gently. "Okay, evil uncle. And you have to go and ... defeat him?" That seemed impossible and stupid. "Or are you just upset? Is this movie too much? Cause you picked it. We can change movies."
"Nah, it's thematic. I guess." What a weird theme to plan an evening around, but what was he supposed to do? Minjun leaned into the touch, closing his eyes briefly as he nuzzled Ten's hand. Damn, he would miss him so much, he really didn't want to think about it. "Like... My uncle is dead. He got killed. And he's why I had to leave Korea, because technically I'm his heir and he wanted me dead."
And now everything had shifted again. "A lot of the gang want me back, because they don't like the guy who's set to take over."
"Okay. So he banished you and now you want to go back and retake your pride rock." He did idly wonder just who was the Mufasa in this situation but whatever. "Do you really have to go back or do people just want you to? Cause, you know, people want me to do stuff all the time and I just ignore it. It's not that hard."
If he really didn't want to and he wasn't in Korea right now... why did he have to go back? "We could just forget it together and go to bed, yeah?"
"I wish." Minjun sighed and leaned back against the couch, stretching his legs out before they could fall asleep. "My friends are caught up in it. They contacted me, they want me back. There's gonna be war, but they got nothing to fight for without me."
It was a fucked up situation. Especially... "My uncle had a son. Kangwoo. I never met him, but he would have been like... Two? Three? And I thought he'd died, everyone did, but apparently that wasn't true. And no one knows where he is now, he might have been killed or kidnapped or whatever. Maybe they will negotiate with me, whoever it is. He's a baby, you know?"
"He sounds very young." Too young for this shit. Damn, it was just a baby. Ten sighed and tilted his head back, looking up at the ceiling of their apartment and considering all of this mess. "It's a lot. I need to think more but whatever you need from me, you have it. Okay? I don't get it but I get you. I love you. So if you go, I'll follow."
Besides, it sounded interesting and he was pretty sure Minjun stood no chance alone. "We can handle this together."
"...yeah?" Huh. Minjun somehow hadn't expected that. He frowned and moved so he could straddle Ten, sitting on his lap and facing him. He figured they really had to talk this through, he wasn't sure whether Ten really got this. "I mean... This is gonna be dangerous. Really dangerous. Cheon, that's the guy that is set to take over, he's a sadistic dick, he's bound to want me dead."
"Then I should definitely come. You're soft, I don't want you getting hurt. And I punch harder." With a teasing smile, he brushed Minjun's hair back and playfully stroked his hair to keep it sticking up like that. "I mean, I love you. I want to be with you. Didn't think I'd ever want anyone like I want you. I think I'd rather go to hell and back with you than live without you at this point... which is weird, I know."
But apparently he was love's bitch. Harsh but true. "We may not be able to handle it but together, we could bluff it."
Minjun was at a loss for words for the moment and he felt as if the most appropriate reaction was to make out with him anyway, so he did just that, eyes closed, hands in his hair, so very in love that it hurt. Finally he leaned their foreheads together, breathing heavily. "Hurts to think of losing you."
So much so that he couldn't spend a moment longer trying to convince Ten to leave him, because he couldn't. He didn't want to. He pulled back, just to smile. "Fuck. You're gonna meet all my childhood friends..."
"I can imagine your friends already." He pulled a face. Well, some losers told him to party until he broke and then keep partying so clearly they were probably idiots. But hey, he could live with it, he didn't have to love his friends. Just him. He kissed Minjun again and wrapped his arms around him, just holding him close and nuzzling against his neck.
"We can do our best to find the baby too. I'm sure he's ... there's hope. And there's hope that maybe we can sort this out." Or at least not die.
"You are so sweet." It actually calmed him a little, hearing him talk like that. Calmed him a lot, even. Gave him some hope. "I was always... Like, he's my baby cousin. I hated that I never got to meet him. And I hate that someone's gonna be using him. But you're right. There's hope. We might get him out of that mess."
He wasn't about to give up. "I love you." He realised he hadn't said it back before, so he might as well. "And, hey. You wanted to see Korea. We can fly to Busan together soon."
"you thought he was gone and now he may not be. That's exciting, right? It's a positive. Lots of negatives but hey, look, one little positive. I bet he's cute too. Just like you." Ten knew that he shouldn't get his hopes up too much but Minjun needed something positive, he needed to believe and Ten was happy to encourage it.
Leaning their foreheads together again, he smiled a little to himself and tried to ignore that burning in his chest. He said that he loved him. It felt so good. "We better have good seats for the flight."
