"I'll see if I can talk to him. I used to be like that." Well. Maybe. Kind of. Sort of. "Less about thighs." Abs, maybe, but he didn't have to tell Namjoon that. "Jin-hyung's cool though. Cooking's a huge plus."
Because Yoongi certainly had no interest in cooking for a bunch of boys, so the best strategy was not letting anyone know that he could cook. This was where his genius truly came in. "Hobi's getting better too. Love his flow." Seemed to come as natural to him as dancing.
"Seems to be adjusting better too. I really thought he'd quit, it took ages to talk him around. I really hope he stays, I think his flow is amazing. We're going to work so well together." It wasn't just that Hobi was good at dancing and coming along with his rap, he was also really good at producing in his own way. He often sat with Namjoon, talked it out, pulled all nighters.
They needed people like Hobi. "I have no idea what I think of Taehyung-ah. He's so ... is it weird to call him adorable?" Cause he was. Entirely adorable. "And way too talented for this place. No wonder they're hiding him."
"I've no idea what to make of him either. But cute, yeah. Never seen someone that weird in real life. You now he got asked to audition, he was really just accompanying a friend?" Not that Yoongi could blame the people, Taehyung definitely had the looks and, as it turned out, clearly also a very unique voice. "They are so scared someone's gonna steal Tae from them."
He laughed, shaking his head. "You ever feel bad that no one's hiding us away?" Hey, he was just saying. "I told them that Jimin has to sing."
"We're the ugly rappers, no one cares about us." Namjoon waved a hand of dismissal. In this industry, it was kind of true. To get a label and make music people would actually hear? The ugly people did not exactly become the most wanted. He leaned back on the wall by his bed and then snorted with amusement.
"Finally. I did thing that was a bad move." He really never understood that one. Just cause it worked with Hobi, it didn't mean it'd work with Jimin. "I bet he's relieved. I saw him stressing over rapping recently."
"I bet he'll stress over singing too, but he can sing. I like his voice. He could probably learn how to rap, but... He wants to sing, y'know? You have to want it to sell it." And Jimin looked as sweet as his voice sounded. Yoongi sat up and pushed his hair back from his face. "We are getting there now, don't you think? We got all the people now, they gotta let us debut. Give us the chance."
Then maybe they'd fail, but at least they'd get somewhere.
"I hope so. I mean we still have to prove ourselves, we have to do M Countdown and have a solid album. Gotta make sure our old friends aren't still after blood." The rap community really didn't like them, as B Free so wonderfully illustrated to him and Yoongi when they turned up just to check out some of the artists and show their stuff. Namjoon wasn't bitter, not at all. Still didn't overthinking the criticisms at all.
"We just need the right breaks and to market ourselves well. The music can be amazing but in the end, does it matter?" Okay, he was being a downer but they'd been doing this for a few years now, it really didn't feel real. "Sorry, it's just... I'm scared to be excited, you know?"
"We'll get there. Because we will keep going, no matter what. It's all we can do, right? No standing still, no going back. And for better or worse, this is gonna be a memory." Yoongi wasn't an optimist by his very nature, but he was ambitious, he was driven and... They had been going for so long. "And, hey, look at the hot boys we have in the group right now. We'd definitely get fans if they ever got a glimpse of them. Then they've gotta listen to our music."
"Jin is so beautiful, how did we even land a guy like that? He looks too good for us." Namjoon had to admit, they had some guys in this band now. And teeny-tiny Jungkook... but he'd probably be a favourite of young girls so whatever. They had a good team. Very talented, lots of pretty people - it was ideal, actually. "I think we have one problem though."
Namjoon sighed and looked at Yoongi, pain obvious on his face. "The stupid dancing is killing me. And if it doesn't kill me, Hoseok will."
Yoongi had to laugh, seeing the very real pain on Namjoon's face. Probably not the reaction he should have had, but here he was. "You are right, Joon-ah, he's gonna kill you if you can't get it in your genius brain."
Although he figured that the brain wasn't the problem there, it was the dancing. "I get what you mean though. I'm too old for all this dancing." Not that he was old, but he sure felt like it when they had to practise dancing non-stop. "They tricked me into this. I was supposed to just be a producer."
"I was told that when I started doing this band, it would be minimal and easy. And now I have to learn all these steps and I can't! I crashed into Hoseok's back today and I swear to God, he looked at me and I felt my soul leave my body." He was going to have to magically get good soon or he was so fucked. "I guess this is the price we pay, huh?"
They had been together for a while nowhere, careers stalled and doing very little, watching others their age surpass them and do better. It was a hard road and if he had to just learn to dance to do this, he would. "I'll get better. We both will."
Yoongi reached out and held Namjoon's hand, giving it a squeeze. "It will get better. One day we won't have to watch the award shows from the dorm." Here was hoping, anyway. Yoongi got his phone out and started playing one of their songs, still holding on to Namjoon's hand. They would get there. They had to.
