Ewoks? What the hell? Oh. Star Wars. Right? He assumed. What was happening with Kangwoo? Yoongi knew that Kangwoo had never shown any interest in his youngest brother and now here he was talking about Star Wars and his baby brother's preferences? "Joon-ah likes the Ewoks a lot. They are very pro-nature." And so was his Namjoon. And now he had shared that for no reason, but...
This was a strange day. "My man wants the kill." He gestured at the injured man on the ground. "Can he kill him with no retaliation? Then the issue is resolved, once the money is transferred."
"They are fascinating. They have a whole hierarchy that has generations of perfection in motion. It's not unlike how we work." Yes, he just compared gangs to ewoks. This was a weird day. He was aware he was getting funny looks but he didn't care, he just tilted his head to the side and watched the bleeding man. "Yeah, sure but it's only payment for the house. His business fucking up is his own damn problem."
He would pay for the fire damage and that was it. Then it was all even and he could go home and research Dooly. "Retaliation may come from his family but most of them think he's a worthless piece of shit so I wouldn't really worry about it." Only Cheon seemed to like him.
Yoongi nodded, then gestured to the man and gave a glance to one of his guards. The guard picked the injured man up and dragged him outside, while the man whose revenge he had negotiated knelt down and pressed his forehead to the ground. He didn't say a word, a lot of their clan's business tended to be about gestures. Yoongi waved him off and then he left, allowing Yoongi to look at Kangwoo again. He was so very curious what the Star Wars talk was all about.
"How old is Taehyung?" Kangwoo had shown interest in his brother, so it seemed only fair to do the same.
"I'm not sure. Six. Seven... maybe eight. I think Eight." Kangwoo mumbled under his breath, doing some quick math before nodding. "He's eight. He and Jiho had three years between each other." And he and Jiho had nearly seven. It had been an easy life before Jiho came in, then things got messy. "Taehyung is sick right now." He had the flu a little but it was mostly gone now, the bruised ribs weren't but he seemed to be getting better. He wasn't dying, at least.
Kangwoo put his hands in his pockets and looked at Yoongi. "Minjun-ssi is watching him right now."
That was interesting information. Kangwoo taking an interest in his little brothers. Minjun actually being with them? He clearly had to have a serious talk with the people supposed to give him up to date information. "I hear noodle soup is best when a child is sick."
Or maybe that was just what Jungkook liked to eat best when he was sick, but whatever. At least couldn't hurt. "I haven't seen Minjun in a long time. You must be happy he is back in Korea to help you."
"Noodle soup?" Huh. He pulled out his phone again, made another note and then put it away, leaning back with a look in his eyes. There was a switch, he didn't look happy with how Yoongi spoke. "I could do without him. Why? You hoping he'll stab me in the back? You fuckers are all the same." He knew what they all wanted. Everyone outside his loyal circle.
He tensed up and glared, his anger clear. "Minjun works for me."
Yoongi didn't move, his expression didn't change. But his guards had shifted a little and Yoongi knew why, obviously. No one was supposed to talk like that to him and that definitely included Kangwoo. He was slipping. His temper getting the best of him, very emotional. "For the interests of the Min Clan, it is best when your family is stable. You know that. There is no need for wild accusations."
"They're not wild. People think I don't know but I'm not stupid. I know everyone wants him to off me. I know why he came back. He doesn't want to rule, he's not a leader and yet, suddenly he's back and interested." He knew that it wasn't of Minjun's own desires. He acted because he had to act, because he was pushed to. Kangwoo huffed and shook his head. "You'd end me if you could. If you could get away with it. Anyone would."
"And how many, do you think, would end me if they could? Such is life." Yoongi had only ever had a period in his life when he had been able to go to places without guards. Without guarding himself as well. "We work together. I'm not opposed to working with Minjun as well. But I see no advantage in a war among your gang. There would be a war if it was for succession between you and Minjun. Your brothers would be in danger. The Min Clan never hurts children. Never lets children be hurt. I have no desire to see any of that happen to your family. You should believe that. My word means something."
"They won't get hurt." Kangwoo insisted because he wouldn't let it happen. His baby brother nearly died by his hand and it didn't feel good so ... now he would't let it happen. If Taehyung and Jiho didn't exist then what would he have? He felt prickling guilt run up in and he gritted his teeth. "The Baek family is strong, there won't be in any wars. The rumours are all bullshit. Me and Minjun get on fine, the kids are fine and I'm taking over easily." So there.
He huffed and looked over to where he heard the gunshot. Finally. "He's dead. I'm going to go."
"I'm glad your family is doing well." Yoongi inclined his head a little, then paused. Wondered if he should really push further by bringing up something else. But Namjoon would want him to and it was rare that he didn't do what Namjoon wanted. Not that anyone knew that, outside of the two of them of course. "Kim Seokjin-ssi. His business is under our protection. That extends to his person. I don't know or care what happened between you two, but see to it that you tell your men to stop harassing him."
"... My men are -- what?!" Wait, he didn't set that up? What? Oh. Oh great. He stopped fucking with Jin like a month after they'd broken up and he must have done something or said something stupid. Or maybe this was Cheon doing him a solid. He massaged his temple, clearly annoyed. "Well, I didn't order that so fine. Fucking morons. I'm over that faggot, he was a weak little pussy anyway."
God, he missed Jin. what a handsome, beautiful, kind man. That he ruined. Probably shouldn't have decked him during that fight.
"Whatever." No, Yoongi didn't care for the language. He liked Jin and he knew that none of them described him at all. Not that it would have been all right even if they did. But he couldn't get hung up on that. More importantly, it was confirmation of what he had already suspected. Kangwoo didn't know what was done in his name. Now the question was whether he could stop it, when he was aware, and if it would make him look into what else happened without his knowledge. "Good to know. I want to continue working with you. Greetings to your family."
"Yeah. Ditto. Greetings to Jungkook. Thanks for the ... the soup thing." Damn it, what the fuck was Cheon doing? He was going to look needy and bitter still when he wasn't and he'd never look chill and cool around Jin! Huffing, Kangwoo took off, already texting Cheon about his dead friend and what the fuck was up with Jin.
He had to handle that but first, he needed to find soup stuff.
