"Do you remember how Jiho was R2D2 for us when we were little, hyung? He beeped." Well, he felt like he needed reminding. "What are your plans tonight, hyung? Because after I do your paperwork and touch bases with my bae, I would love to watch a movie with all of you. Family bonding. Very important."
And he watched as Tae hugged the Ewok, holding it tight as if it was the most precious thing he'd ever seen in his life. He had no idea what to feel, this was all a bit much.
"I'm busy. Me and Cheon are going to a party and I have to meet Soohyun and Sangwoo to give them their jobs. If I wuss out then--" He watched Tae curiously, the way he was cuddling the ewok. It was like looking at himself years ago, he remembered how that felt. He watched Tae for a while before frowning and shuffling a little closer to Tae.
"Do you know what an ewok is?" Kangwoo was curious. Did he? He wasn't sure.
Tae shook his head, looking at Kangwoo uncertainly. Was he going to get angry? "No, hyungnim." Was he holding an ewok? "If this is an ewok, I love them."
Seemed simple enough.
"Look at that, Kangwoo-hyung. Come on, the party can wait. You gotta educate your brothers. They have no idea about ewoks or droids or anything important!"
"An ewok is that. They inhabit the forest moon of Endor. And they're in the third Star Wars movie. And some very weird spin offs. That I watched as a kid and I'm unsure were real." Kangwoo didn't seem convinced and almost looked at Minjun to confirm that they happened because it almost seemed fake.
"Is that like the droid thing you made me do?"
"You were useless at being Yoda so we had to cast you as R2D2." Jiho could not master Yoda talk but he was pretty good at beeping. Kangwoo shrugged and gave Minjun a look. "I can hang around for a few."
"Then I'll see you tonight. We'll have ourselves a movie party, yeah?" Minjun looked around those three traumatised boys, amending his statement. "A gentle party. Hyung, can my boyfriend come by during the day? Only, I've got a lot of homework to do and he could hang out with the kids."
Also make out some. But mostly Ten had been really curious to meet his cousins and see the house. "He's Thai. Maybe he can cook lunch, he's good at that. Sometimes. You need a new cook, hyung, what happened to the old one? Also, yeah, the spin offs were all very surreal..."
"I dunno, Cheon -- did something. I wasn't hear at the time." Yeah, sometimes he just left Cheon unattended in his house. A solid approach. He gave Minjun a look and then pulled a face. "I don't want your boytoy wandering about my home. It's weird. I don't-- it's weird." Kangwoo wasn't sure how much he wanted to budge, there was a lot of changes being pushed and all Kangwoo wanted to do was steal the ewok and cuddle it himself.
"TaeTae." Jiho whispered as he tried to beckon his baby bro over while the older hyungs discussed boyfriends or whatever. Something gross and icky. "Lemme see the ... wok."
"Ewok," Tae corrected as he crawled onto the bed and moved himself against his brother and into his arms, holding the ewok out to him. "He is soft." Tae was smiling. This was the best thing he had ever gotten.
"He's not my boytoy, hyung. He's my boyfriend. My partner. We live together, it's not casual. Don't worry, you don't gotta meet him. But he is good with kids." Minjun paused. "As opposed to Cheon. Come on. You left Cheon alone here, but you don't trust me and the boy I love?"
"Ewok." Jiho smiled a little and pulled Tae into his lap. He didn't care if Tae was almost a big boy down and was a bit too heavy to really sit in his lap, he liked to have him close. They were both stunted in some ways, both clinging to each other and this just made it easier. He hugged his brother and petted the ewok before whispering in his ear. "Minjun-hyung says Kangwoo is sick. This is him trying to be better... I think."
Kangwoo shrugged and pulled out his phone, texting Cheon to tell him he was probably not going to show tonight. Family issues and all. "I dunno, Cheon is too dumb to do anything. I don't know the same about your true love."
"Do something like what? Be nice to children? I think they'll survive that, shocking as it is." Minjun mocked a little, but tried to keep it gentle. "Look, if you don't want it, fine. Just don't say no because you are doing some posturing thing. Ten is a good person. I wouldn't be with him if he wasn't."
Tae looked at Kangwoo, a little concerned suddenly. His big hyung was sick? Oh. He didn't want that. Even if he was mean. "I hope he feels better!"
"That's a good point. You are soft. I guess... fine, while I work, you can have your dumb boyfriend over but this is a one strike system. If he fucks up once then he's out." Kangwoo got up and stretched a little, looking at the two boys on the bed. Jiho hastily covered Tae's mouth and looked up at Kangwoo, who mostly just seemed puzzled by them.
"Thank you for the presents, hyungnim." Jiho bowed and made Tae bow with him. Kangwoo just sort of nodded awkwardly.
