"Well, he shouldn't. I suck." Ten slowly pulled himself back up, sitting on the floor and winced. God damn, his body still hurt. "I dunno why he likes me but ... I guess if he does, I just have to try, yeah?" He looked at Suga and then lowered his head, wanting to be as respectful as he could be. "I'll do my best."
He would have to earn Hobi's trust, show him that he could keep him safe too.
"I--" He bit his lower lip and then just dropped on his ass, sitting on the floor like it was no big deal. "Can I ask you something? It's... It's about Cheon."
"You can ask." Not that he really wanted to talk about Cheon, but talking about him was still better than talking with the bastard. He wanted him to suffer, he just hadn't realised that would mean a lot of suffering for him too. Whatever. If anyone had the right to ask about Cheon, he supposed it was Ten, in light of everything, for better or worse. "What is it?"
"He said things about me, didn't he? Did he ever... did he ever say anything good?" Oh shit, this was pathetic. He knew it was but Cheon had said nice things before and while he was trying to save his skin, sure, he was pulling him down with him. Lovers did that, he guessed. But did he say anything good? Just one compliment. "He said he'd protect me because no one else would but did he even try to?"
"Depends on what you mean by good." Yoongi could imagine what he meant, so he actually thought about it. "Mostly he talks a lot of shit."
Enough for him to not allow Jungkook to be there when Cheon could talk and enough for him to want to limit it for Namjoon too. Hell, he hardly wanted to hear any of that stuff himself. "He doesn't have protective instincts. No, he didn't say anything to protect you. He made things up to get to me or Namjoon a couple times, but Jimin would have told me if any of them were true."
"Can I see him? No. Wait. No. Sorry. I don't want to see him." But he did a little bit. Fuck, what was wrong with him? He knew he was messed up but he really didn't want to see Cheon. He just had to accept that he was going to die and he was never going to see him again. And that was a good thing, not a bad thing. "Sorry, just old habits. I don't want to see him."
Getting up slowly, Ten loitered around the chair and tried to stay cool. "Can I go now, sir? I won't get into any trouble or even go near Jimin or Tae again. I swear."
"If you can keep Jimin from going near you, you have to tell me your secret." Yoongi said it drily, shrugging his shoulders. "You can go. As I said, you are Hobi's responsibility."
For a moment he frowned, leaning forward. "And if you tell me why you want to see him, then, yeah. Maybe I'll bring you to see him, before he's dead."
Perhaps it would be good for closure. Yoongi didn't know.
