"Yeah, Thai." Ten nodded his head and then frowned, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he tried to work out what was where. He really didn't have a good position here, he cleaned, he played waiter and he stripped once or twice as a substitute - he had a good body and he knew how to work it. He didn't really know where anything official was. "There's an office in the back but I don't know where the keys are."
"We busted all the locks. Or we should have. Come on, let's talk." He shoved this guy ahead of him and tried his best to be big and intimidating. That was exactly how Yoongi got everyone to respect and fear him.
Ten moved ahead nervously and pushed the office door open, holding it for the two men. "Do you mind if I--" He trailed off as he reached into his pocket and Jungkook assumed he meant having a smoke so he nodded. Instead, Ten pulled out a lolly, unwrapped it and put it in his mouth.
Hobi followed behind them, moving his jacket just a little so that there was a flash of that for a moment too, for the benefit of everyone still in the room they were leaving behind. They had to show a strong presence, he knew that was important. Jungkook was good at intimidation, the problem was that Yoongi clearly wanted him to learn diplomacy too and that might not come to him as naturally, Hobi suspected.
"Just sit down," he told the kid with his lolly, gesturing at a chair, "If you cooperate, nothing bad is going to happen to you or any of your friends back there."
He moved around the chair to lean against the desk, nodding to the big office chair after a brief moment of eye contact with Jungkook. He was the one in charge.
"They're not really my friends, they just stopped me from getting my brains blown out. Your boss killed all of our crew here." He was serving at the bar when he came in, there was such a loud shoot out and blood got all over him. He'd hidden under the bar, crawled out and hidden backstage with the hookers. It seemed like the smartest move at the time.
"You got a problem with that? Cause I think they had it coming." Jungkook took it a little personally. He did get shot, after all. Those guys deserved what they got.
"No, no problem. They were pigs. I just owed them money." He grinned despite how afraid he was, laughing a little because he was nervous. "I'm very pretty so no one suspected me not to be a hooker! I don't really want to be a hooker but I would just like you to note my beauty." He sucking on his lolly a little hard and pulled it out of his mouth with a pop. "That makes me useful, yes?"
"I've seen more beauty in the mirror." Hobi said it quickly, not wanting Jungkook to be caught speechless. He watched the boy, curious and trying to see past the mask he'd put on. It was fairly easy to see the sign of nerves, maybe because he had a similar defence up at times. Not around Yoongi though, because Yoongi didn't play like that. "How much money did you owe them?"
Technically he'd owe them now, that was how it worked. Debts didn't just vanish.
"Nothing, worked it all off." He knew he'd owe it to them and he kind of didn't want to so he lied and smiled, trying to cover it up. Jungkook narrowed his eyes, he knew the kid was fucking with them. He owed money.
"How much? Don't lie to me. That's the only lie you get. One more and I will hurt you. A lot."
Shit. Ten leaned his head back and made a noise, mildly distressed. Not just from the fear but having to do math. He hated math. "I dunno, I originally owed two hundred thousand, five hundred and six. Then I worked off a percentage. Eighty percent of my wages. Out of the amount I paid off, I thinnnnnnk-- nope, dunno. I can show you what I paid off, I have slips somewhere." God damn, this sucked. He didn't want to pay any more.
"There's books, I will look through it all later." With Jungkook, he had to teach him how to properly keep the books anyway. "I bet they have that marked down in detail. They were trash, but they knew how to keep the business running."
J-Hope looked at the kid in front of him, arching his eyebrows a little. He just couldn't help the curiosity. "What in the hell did you even need this much money for?" Interesting. "Do you know all the workers here? We have a message for them from Min Yoongi."
"About a hundred but it was really cool. So I gambled for it and I won big! So I got a lot of hats and then shoes and I kept going and making easy money. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I lost big this once and they wouldn't let me try again!" But he still had the hat so who was the real winner here? "Then I worked out like half of it and bought a coat. I was supposed to give that money to them but I wanted the coat so they added interest on my debt."
Long story short, he'd never pay it back. Or be good with money. He laughed nervously and shrugged. "I think it's just me left. I haven't seen anyone else. All the gangsters left and the workers didn't want to be involved any more. It's just me and the hookers. I know them for the most part."
"...you got problems, kid." J-Hope was just saying. He rolled his eyes, but there was a bit of a smile. He looked at Jungkook for a moment, then back at Ten. "The message is mostly for them anyway. The hookers. Min Yoongi doesn't want to be a pimp, so this club won't be a brothel any more. Jeon Jungkook is in charge and he will decide what happens with this place. Everyone who works here can find a new role or they can leave, even go back to their home countries. They'll be provided for."
Those were Min Yoongi's words after all. It was always nice, seeing those glimpses of Suga underneath the scary mob boss facade he was forced to wear. "Tell them that and tell them that Jeon Jungkook will talk to each of them individually to find out what they want. We'll get translators." A list of names would be handy, but Hobi hoped they could find that in the books. "As for you, you heard your new boss. You still owe a debt. I'd suggest you buy less hats."
"I can be your translator. Most of them speak Thai or some English, I speak both. And Korean, obviously. I can help." He supposed being helpful was the best way to do this. He wasn't sure if it was true that they'd help these people but he hoped it was. He just wished they'd help him. Damn, he should have used more of a sob story. He huffed and shrugged his shoulders. "I've got problems, it's true, I have to keep buying things. I dunno why. Can't you cut me a break?"
"No, you're a dumbass." Jungkook dismissed as he finished looking through the office, raiding around and gathering blue prints of the lay out. "You'll pay back in full but we will wipe the interest off." It was the only slack he'd cut the idiot.
"I'll take it." He bit hard into his lolly and it cracked in his mouth, delicious and cola tasting. Perfect for easing nerves. "May I please go now?" He was freaked out.
"Yeah, run off. Tell them." J-Hope waved him off, a little bit amused by the whole situation. Not exactly what he'd thought he'd find here, he was expecting more of a sob story indeed. He smiled for a moment, then turned his attention to Jungkook. "Do you know what you want to do yet? The building doesn't look bad. I can recommend you a good contractor who can look it over for you, but it seems sturdy enough. I'd recommend some remodelling to make it look less sleazy, no matter what you want to do with it."
"I think maybe a nightclub? I don't want to compete with your bar but a nightclub could work well. They could have drinks at your place and then come here to get wrecked." It was a big place and he was sure that cover charge alone would make this place worthwhile. Especially if the top gangsters came an frequented it. He looked over the blueprints and frowned. "Is that a good idea or not? I don't want to make any wrong moves. I definitely want something totally different. No reminders of those sleazebags."
"That's not a bad idea. Besides, I know you like to go clubbing, so you should know the business a little. Figure out where you'd like to go and aim for that. You know Suga's going to give you whatever money you ask for." It did have its upsides, being the golden child. "Go with a total remodel. And you should see if you can't get along with that kid, Ten. He knows the required languages, you can tie up loose ends with those poor boys and girls down there. If they want to work at the club, you can have some dancers on platforms, you'll need bartenders, the like. You'll figure it out, Kookie."
"Do I have to? Seems kind of dumb." He didn't really want to hang out with a shopaholic who couldn't manage their money well but he supposed he did have the languages. He smiled at Hobi and reached out, touching his arm in gratitude. "I guess I should. For the sake of ease. Thank you for you helping me, hyung. I know you're busy but your advise is what I needed to do this. I really appreciate it."
He bowed to his elder, not caring about hierarchy or not. Jungkook was always grateful, it was why he was so well liked.
"You're sweet as always, Jungkook. I'm sure you'd have figured it out alone too. When I started out, Suga just gave me the keys to the place because, and I quote 'you like to drink, right?'." Well, it had worked out in the end, so he wasn't exactly complaining, but still. "You can call me any time if you need help. I know what it's like starting out."

He liked to have candy, it made him more relaxed.
