"Hey, that's good news. I bet his dad was thrilled, he's been waiting there all day." Jungkook's father hadn't blamed them, he understood the business and he was proud of his son above all else. He kept in touch with them too, which they both appreciated. Especially since they were too busy to be there.
Namjoon got to his feet and wrapped an arm around Tae's neck, ready to show him the cool guns Hobi had, just trying to push Jungkook from his mind. It was better than crying all day. "We'll find him, promise. I'll see you in a few, boss."
Jimin didn't make a move to get up and look at guns. He was content to sit there and watch Yoongi instead. Besides, he had no interest in guns.
"I'm sorry you couldn't find Cheon. That's the only place I know or I'd help more."
"Yeah. He just asked about me." Because that boy was an idiot. Yoongi closed his eyes and took a deep breath, shaking his head. Still had to figure out how to reward him for it. Mostly he wanted to slap him up the head, but he knew that wasn't what he was supposed to do. Instead he got to listen to Jungkook's father assuring him that it was such an honour and whatever the hell.
He watched as Tae walked off with Namjoon and Hobi, already asking questions about the gun collection, then just went back to staring at his glass, not really aware that Jimin was still in the room. He'd just assumed he left with his friend, given he'd never seen Tae and Jimin apart.
Yoongi pushed up his shades and rubbed at his eyes, because he couldn't stop himself from crying and he couldn't let anyone see the tears. Might as well let it out while he had the chance.
Oh no, Yoongi was crying. Wasn't he? He was rubbing at his eyes. And he looked so upset. Jimin watched him for a moment before quietly getting up and coming over. He stood near him, awkwardly swaying as he debated what he wanted to do. Cuddle him, mostly. But should he? He didn't know if he was allowed but since when did that stop him?
Reaching out, he placed a hand on Yoongi's shoulder and squeezed it a little, wanting to make sure he had his attention.
"I'm sorry, sir. It must be hard."
And with that, he threw his arms around him and hugged him, just wanting to make it better and now sure how. "I don't like to see you upset. You must hurt so much."
Yoongi froze, which was a slightly better reaction than going for his gun. Probably because he recognised Jimin, he had a very specific scent. Which was a weird thing to be aware of already, but whatever. He could scold himself for that later. For now he sat still, letting Jimin hold him and barely even daring to breathe, because he knew he should not be allowing this.
"I'm not hurt." Others were. Jungkook was, for his sake. "I thought I told you not to touch me."
"Okay, you're not hurt. I am. I'm sad, let me hold you." Jimin pretended as he pulled Yoongi in a little closer and decided it was worth the risk of being hurt. It wouldn't be the first time he'd gotten himself hurt doing something like this. He held him in close and tried his best not to be too much of a bother. "I'm sorry I touched you, I can't help it. I'm very needy. I like touch. And when I'm sad or other people are sad, touch is the best thing for it."
Tentatively, he raised his hand and stroked Yoongi's hair. "Let me touch you. Please?"
"Whatever." That was a reply roughly on the level of a petulant teenager, but Yoongi simply held still and let Jimin do as he pleased. Seemed like less of a hassle. He looked at Jimin and, well. At least that helped him a little to stop crying, after he rubbed at his eyes again. He knew they were red and puffy, there was a reason he stuck to wearing shades. Luckily no one questioned it. People didn't really question him, period. "So, what do you think I should reward Jungkook with?"
"Hit him a little for being so impulsive and making you worry!" Jimin laughed and mimed a slap to the head, using his own head a a target. He smiled softly and rested his chin on Yoongi's shoulder, considering what would make a good gift. "He likes shiny things. Get him an even shinier gun. Or a shiny ... phone. Do they make gold phones? You should get that. That's kind of cool. Even when it's outdated, you could display it." Seemed pretty legit. "Or a watch, I guess, but who uses watches?"
"I do." Yoongi raised his hand, showing off his watch. "Mostly so I can know the time without having to deal with people." Too many messages on his phone, as a general rule. "But it's a status symbol for a lot of people. I could probably get him a nice one. I know what he likes."
It was pretty easy to deduce, given that a lot of Jungkook's style seemed to have evolved out of Yoongi's.
"Your friend, Tae. He's done a lot to protect you. You know that, you're smart. How do you feel about it?"
"Bad." Jimin shrugged a little and stayed close to Yoongi, one hand fiddling with his hair. "He did so much for me at his own expense and I never asked for it. I want to protect him. I'm grateful that he protects me but I would like to be able to protect myself." Unfortunately, he was often in trouble and Tae had to save him. Hell, this whole coke mess was because of him and he felt terrible for it.
"But I know that he loves me and it's what he wants to do so I can't stop him. I can only be grateful and love him." That was about all he could offer sometimes. "He's my best friend."
"He's a good friend. Bit of an idiot." Admittedly. "Seems to be part of his charm though, that's what won Namjoon over." Of course, Namjoon couldn't resist a mouthy boy who was really only looking for acceptance. Predictable. He closed his eyes for a moment, focusing on the touch to his hair. It was nice, he wasn't going to deny that.
"You know, I used to wonder why my father didn't want to be closer to me, but I figured it out now. The whole thing is a shit deal. You can't do that to someone you actually care about."
"It mus be very difficult. You have to always be strong and people have to hurt for you. And die for you. I can't imagine that it's easy. I'm sorry you have to suffer, hyung." He wished he could help out Yoongi in some way but he was the boss, this was his world and Jimin was just some random punk he snapped at half the time. He didn't have any real sway in this world, all he could do is offer comfort.
"I guess all you can do is be a good boss. They all love you so you clearly are. It makes it worth while." At least they're not dying for some asshat. Like Cheon.
"Sure." Worthwhile. He doubted that a lot. Yoongi turned his head so he could look at Jimin properly, knowing that they wouldn't have much more time alone. "You shouldn't be a waiter."
Did he have to give a reason? He was the boss, he decided that he didn't have to give a reason. "Try behind the bar. Mixing drinks looks like fun." Well, it honestly kind of did. Not that he'd ever tried. "You get a lot of tips there too."
"You don't want me to be a waiter? Aww, I was going to wear my tight pants." Jimin laughed playfully and let go of Yoongi, dropping down in the seat closest to him and immediately crossing his legs, looking very at home here. He did feel pretty safe, admittedly, and that was a rare one.
"I do like to drink so maybe that can translate to mixing."
If it made Yoongi happy, he could do it. Anything to make him feel a lot less sad. "Do you come to the club often? I'd like to see you more. I think you're pretty interesting. We could have fun together."
"Do I seem like I have a lot of fun to you?" Yoongi leaned on the table, looking at Jimin and wondering whether he knew that he had just told him not to be a waiter solely so no one else could touch him. Which, given that he was still not planning on doing any touching himself, was very presumptuous. But Jimin had agreed, so whatever. He decided not to feel guilty, he'd just have to tip him extra.
"I tend to come here every other day at least. A lot of business gets done here."
"No but that's why we should be together more. I could make you have fun. I know you're all king Yoongi, the coolest man alive but sometimes it's fun to just do stuff! I don't care what stuff. I can make you smile." Or he'd try. He made a heart with his hands and then giggled playfully, getting all embarrassed and slapping his hand on the table. "I don't have a lot of friends, I didn't have any for a long time so I never had any fun. I used to imagine having lots of friends."
And that was all he wanted. Friends, people who liked him, happy people who cared about him, all surrounding and supporting him.
"When you come by, you should come see me. I can make you a drink!"
"Cute." Damn it. He really hadn't meant to say that out loud, but here he was. Yoongi shook his head and put his shades back on, since he could hear voices returning. "You'll make a lot of friends in no time." He had no doubt about that. "Remember to tell Hoseok if anyone is bothering you, if anyone makes you uncomfortable. Ever."
Really a rule that he extended to all employers, but he wanted to make sure that especially Jimin knew about it. "I don't want anyone to touch you."
He called him cute. Jimin beamed excitedly and bounced a little, glad he was making some kind of headway. "I hope I make friends with you, Yoongi-hyung. I hope you come by and get a drink. I'll make something special just for you." He was going to have to learn how to do that but once he had a goal, he knew what he had to do.
Looking at Yoongi, he couldn't help the bashful smile that slipped onto his face.
"I only want to be touched by you." It was true. He didn't know why, he just did. "One day maybe I'll get a hug."
"I'll come by and get a drink." That was the extent of what he was promising, though Jimin telling him that he only wanted to be touched by him did things to him, both to his heart and lower down. Damn it. He swallowed and adjusted his shades. "Don't play with me."
It was the last thing he managed to say before Tae walked back into the room, his eyes still wide. He immediately moved forward to sit down next to Jimin. "It's so cool, Jiminie! He has all different kinds and some are really pretty! He has one that has a cross and it looks all gothic, it's really cool, you should see it some time."
Yoongi looked at his watch and then up at Namjoon once the man entered. "Are you coming? We are going to Cheon's hideaway. I want a look at what we got. Then you should go home, get some sleep." His plan was to go stay at the hospital, but he'd seen the bags under Namjoon's eyes. "We also need to figure out where you two punks are going to stay."
Tae wrapped his arms around Jimin and smiled happily. "What, you are not paying for us anymore, Min Yoongi?"
Jimin just kept looking at Yoongi, earnest with his concern, eyes wide and as he wanted to reach out and just hold him all over again. He'd never play with Yoongi. Never. Closing his eyes, he sighed and let Tae jump all over him, trying to let the feelings he felt for Yoongi fade a little. "That sounds so cool, Tae!"
"It was pretty cool." Namjoon stretched and nodded his head. "Let's go check out Cheon's place and then I'll sleep. I'm sure we can both catch some winks before we have to do anything again." Looking over at Hobi, he gestured towards the kids. "Can they stay here while we sort stuff out?"
"We can sit here and be good!" Jimin agreed, looking back up at Tae. "We could play cards. Or the King of Korea... in a bar."
"Sure, that's fine. It's a club, kids. Dance, have fun, live a little." J-Hope waved his hands, looking them over. "I've some space upstairs, you can sleep there. But party first, looks like you could use it."
Tae grinned, kissing Jimin's cheek. "I think we're going to like it here." Hey, it had been a while since they could go clubbing.
Yoongi got up and headed out the door without saying a word. He was the boss, surely he could get away with that. Who needed manners?
"Suga's in a mood, huh?" J-Hope looked at Namjoon, raising an eyebrow. "You need anything else from me?"
"Nah, we're good. Thanks, Hobi. I mean it." He gave his friend a quick hug and then turned to Tae, giving him his best stern look. "Don't fuck up, kid. I'm relying on you. Both of you."
"We'll be good." Jimin grinned and bounced a little, already on his feet to go look at the bar and see what there was to mix with. Namjoon left them and hurried after Yoongi, sure that they could amuse themselves.
