"Cheon slipped away from us. Little bastard. He shot-- shot Jungkook and ran for it. We're looking everywhere for him but..." They had no luck so far. He closed his eyes and tried his best to stay strong around these kids. Why was he still so upset? Jungkook was stable. That was good, right?
"Is he... did Jungkook--?"
"He's alive, yeah, he's stable. Just waiting for news on what the full impact is, you know?" They said it was a clean shot, the only thing it hit was his appendix and they had to remove it but they still didn't tell them what other complications were possible. "Cheon knows he's a dead man so he's probably laying low."
"I'm sorry..." So, Jungkook wasn't exactly their favourite person - for obvious reasons - but he could see that Namjoon was really upset and he wasn't sure what to do about it. What would Jimin do? Tae swallowed and then moved past his friend so he could go and hug Namjoon, trying not to feel like a complete idiot doing that. There was only so many ways he could show that he cared. "He will be fine. He's really tough."
"Oh yeah, I know. He's a little pain in the ass, he's going to be fine." Namjoon laughed sadly as he started to cry without wanting too. He wrapped an arm around Tae and hugged him close. He was like Kookie in some ways. Clearly Tae wanted to be loved and wanted to help, he was just a kid looking for a place. And Namjoon would help him, he'd already decided. "Sorry, this is so stupid, I'm just a little worked up."
"It's okay, anyone would cry." Jimin got up too and reached out to stroke Namjoon's back, so easily falling into affection. "You and Yoongi must be torn up."
"Oh yeah, he ... he took a bullet for Yoongi. It's been hard."
"Wow!" It sounded like something out of a movie and he knew he shouldn't focus on that, but it was so exciting. Tae kept hugging Namjoon, deciding that this was okay. He could hug the gangster, if the gangster was such a puppy. He clearly needed a hug. It was a bit like hugging Jimin. A very tall, lanky Jimin. "Jungkook is gonna get a diamond gun next."
Well, he had figured out by now that Jungkook liked to show off with his weapons and he'd saved the boss's life? He bet he was going to get something cool out of it. "He'll be fine, just to brag."
"Seriously. He's such a show off, he's going to love this when he wakes up." Namjoon pulled back and ruffled both boy's hair, laughing as he wiped at his eyes and cleared his throat. "Whatever, I'm fine. I didn't come here for this so... I need you two to work with me for a while, yeah? Nothing too big but just some training. We lost some guys so we could use some new ones."
"We'll help in any way." Jimin bowed respectfully, hoping he wasn't just going to be benched. "I would very much like to help out."
"Good, we'll head to Hobi's club today and you guys can check out the work place a little."
Tae nodded and bowed as well, so excited for the opportunity. "We'll be very helpful!" It was still at the back of his mind that Cheon was out there, but he supposed that wasn't too much of a worry. He was sure the man had other worries, with Min Yoongi's men all out for him.
"That means you have more territory now? Right? Because you won against them." He assumed that's how it worked. "Do you own that club now, the green one? I don't like that one."
"We're taking it over right now. We'll clear it out and change ... God, everything about it. That's not the kind of gang we are." They were respectable gangsters. They didn't do that to people. They didn't rape or sell people, they didn't want to be pimps either. "The closest thing we're considering is a strip club."
"What happens to all the people who were there?"
"We'll help them." He reached out and gave Jimin's shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "And look, I know you're a little worried and all but you guys will be safe as long as you do what we say."
"... What is Cheon comes back?" Jimin didn't like him. He hurt him a few times. He bit his lower lip and looked over at Tae. Not good.
"Yeah, is someone... I mean. Cheon really liked Jimin. A lot." And Tae hadn't even told Jimin all the things Cheon had said to him, but everything Cheon had already done to his friend was probably more than enough to scare him. He wrapped his arms around Jimin and held him close. "You can keep him safe, right? Your group."
Because that would be a good reason to stick with them. Protection.
"We'll keep you safe. You can hang out at Hobi's place and try to stay off the streets until we have him. Unless you're with someone, of course." Namjoon didn't think Cheon would be coming at them again but he didn't put anything past that bastard. "He's not going to get close to any of ours again. I won't let him."
"Thank you." Jimin felt nervous and bounced a little from foot to foot as he debated what to say next. "I-- did you check his hideout yet?"
"... He has a hideout? Like his own place?" Wait, what? He thought they only had that shithole club and their meeting point. "You know where is it?"
"Yeah, he took me there and we -- did things." He didn't want to specify things but Cheon told him that was where he took everyone he found pretty. And if these guys didn't know about it, maybe he should tell them. "I can tell you where it is."
"Tell him!" Tae remembered seeing Jimin after, that was bad enough, but he didn't know where it was. He hadn't even known there had been a specific place, he just assumed it would have been at the stupid club, so this was new information for him too. "He hurt Jimin. I want him to be dead." Just making that clear.
"Tae, calm down." He wrapped his arms around Tae and nuzzled him, just wanting the other to cool down. "I can tell you where it was."
Jimin gave the address and Namjoon texted it ahead to the men looking and to Yoongi, adding where he got the information from. As long as Yoongi knew these kids were useful. "Thanks, I appreciate the help. Come on, you two. Let's go to the club. Meet the boss."
