"This is the boss, Min Yoongi, or Suga as we call him. The one and only. We run this side of town and you're the fucking idiots who stole his coke. Six packages. You disrespected us and now you will sit here, listen to Yoongi and suffer for your crime." Oh yeah. Jungkook knew how to work a crowd.
He smirked at Tae, amused at how the boy had lost his spark in this particular situation. And Jimin, well, he never had any fire to lose. He just lowered his head and prayed that he'd get out of this not dead or horribly mutilated.
Jungkook was pretty cute and doing a good job, Yoongi made a mental note to tell Namjoon about that. He knew Namjoon was already mentoring the boy a little, maybe he should tell him to step it up. There was definite potential there and it would be a shame not to nurture it.
"We didn't do anything," Tae braved, because whatever. Worth a try. "It wasn't us. You got the wrong people."
Yoongi raised his eyebrows and stepped closer, then looked at Jungkook. "This kid thinks you lied to me."
"Didn't say that." All right, this wasn't going well. "Maybe he needs glasses?"
"This is the punk I want to hurt later." Jungkook introduced as he turned his head and gave Tae a truly evil little smile. Oh yeah, he was going to have a good time hurting him... if he lived through this. "I call bullshit, I bet it's them. Look how guilty that one looks."
He pointed at Jimin, who did look pretty fucking terrified and like he was regretting his whole life. Which he was.
But he was also loyal to Tae, he was his best friend and he said to lie so, he was going to lie. "I-- I'm not guilty, I'm scared."
"I don't like liars. But I like Jungkook. So I know he wouldn't lie to me." Yoongi stepped up to Jimin, curiously looking at him. "Now, I already really dislike your friend for lying, but maybe I could dislike you just a little less."
Tae was still staring at Jungkook after that smile that had shocked him to the core, his heart up in his throat. That sounded a lot worse than just getting killed. He wouldn't mind just getting killed so much, he was just sad that Jimin was caught up in it with him.
"You seem like you want to be a good kid. Your friend is a lost cause." Yoongi knew one when he saw one. "If you start talking, I won't hurt him." Well. Not yet. Not him, anyway. "If you don't start talking, you get to watch me hurt him right now."
Jimin didn't like having that kind of decision, his eyes were wide as he turned and looked at Tae. He couldn't let Tae get hurt, no, it wasn't worth it. If they died because of this, at least they'd die swiftly. If they had to be tortured to death, that was worse. "I--I--"
"A little louder, we can't fucking hear you."
Jimin jumped at Jungkook's intervention and then bowed his head, desperate to save Tae from whatever he'd do. "Please don't hurt Tae! Please! I'll tell you what I know if you don't hurt." He didn't know all that much but he knew enough. "They lied to us when they told us to get the stuff. They told us it was the owners coke."
"Jimin, don't, they'll hurt me anyway..." Of course, by then it was too late and Tae just lowered his head, biting down on his lower lip, while Yoongi crouched down to ruffle Jimin's hair.
"I knew you were a good boy. Jimin, is it?" He moved his head up with a light grip on his chin, looking at him properly. He was pretty, under all those tears and the desperation. "Who are 'they'?"
Time for more questions. "You should tell me, you know? Don't you want the assholes that set you up for this to suffer?"
"They said we had to do it because we owed them." Jimin confessed as he trembled, trying his best not to flinch away from Yoongi's touch. Tae was mad at him, he knew that but he just wanted to save them both. Maybe they could get out of this alive, maybe they stood a chance if they were just honest. "I don't know their names, I'm so sorry."
Tae knew the names. He closed his eyes, trying desperately to think. "I only know where they are."
"Where are they then?" Jungkook was amused, this kid cracked so hard and so fast. He could hardly believe it.
"The south side near the club, erm, it's got a neon green sign. It had strippers. It was really loud." He hated it a lot. He sniffled and looked at Yoongi, his terror obvious.
Interesting. Yoongi nodded, while now gently playing with Jimin's hair, wanting to encourage him to keep playing along. He also noticed Tae tensing next to him and he wondered what that was all about. One thing at the time.
"Can you tell me where my product is, Jimin?" His voice was almost sweet when he talked to him now. "You're doing very well. Smart and pretty."
"Leave him alone, you perv." Tae basically immediately regretted saying that, but he had a strong protective instinct where Jimin was concerned. He still lowered his head immediately, biting down on his lip to keep from crying.
"I'm sorry, Tae. I'm really sorry. I don't want to die." And even if they did, at least it shouldn't be too long. Tear ran down his face and he wasn't sure if Yoongi was calling him these names to talk him into being more open or because he wanted to be weird and perverted. Not the first time an older guy had tried to take advantage.
He turned his head, unable to stop staring at Tae, knowing he was letting him down by sharing. They would be in so much trouble if they outed the other gang but then... they were in trouble now. Was there a win here?
"Not wrong," Yoongi observed, looking at Tae again, mostly curious if he might know anything Jimin didn't. He'd definitely have them interrogated separately too, but for now this was working. "Now, talk to me. I'm a pretty busy man."
And this wasn't nearly as exciting to him as it might be to Jungkook, although it was admittedly refreshing to deal with someone who was actually nice to look at. He could appreciate that.
"We had to put it in a shipping contained and then we locked it and we-- we had a combination lock."
"And what's the combination?"
Aww, shit. Jimin didn't know. He let Tae pick it as he was too busy playing around in the train yard. He wanted to keep Tae safe but he didn't know the answers, he couldn't bear to get him hurt. "I don't know. Please. I-I think it was -- I don't know. God. I'm sorry."
"So, let me guess..." Yoongi got up and looked down at Tae, who stared at the ground stubbornly. "Based on your reactions, you know the names and that combination. Never play poker, friendly advice." He moved forward suddenly, knocking Tae on his back and putting a foot on his chest to keep him pinned, looking down at him curiously. Tae pressed his lips together and stared past him at the ceiling, staying silent.
Yoongi thought for a moment, glancing at Jimin. His guess was that he could get this boy to crack easily if he hurt Jimin, but that didn't seem fair, after Jimin had been so cooperative. Besides, he'd given Jungkook a promise before. So he turned his head and looked at Jungkook. "If you think that you can crack him for me, you can have free reign. What do you think?"
"Wait! No! Stop it, you said you wouldn't if I told you."
"Nah, you said that. We never agreed." Jungkook rolled his eyes and stretched out easily, looking at Tae with a small hunt of curiosity. How to make him talk? Usually easy. Pain, hurt his loved ones, more pain, maybe no sleep. He did enjoy his job a lot. "I can give it a shot."
"No, you can't." Jimin wasn't going to let that happened, he staggered up to his feet, looking ready to fight. He may look soft but he was a fighter when he wanted to be. And he had a pretty bad temper. "I told you what I knew, you can't just-- that's not fair!"
Yoongi turned his head to look at Jimin, narrowing his eyes. Of course one of his guards was already there, grabbing a hold of Jimin's arm. Good, he didn't feel like beating him down himself. "I want my product and I want to know who had the bright idea to have you steal from me. So maybe your friend should just give up his information, don't you think? Talk some sense into him."
"I can give you the combination," Tae suggested, while shifting a little. His arms hurt a lot while trapped under his body like this, but he couldn't exactly dislodge Yoongi's foot, so he was stuck.
"...are you seriously trying to bargain with me right now?" Yoongi was starting to understand why this guy had annoyed Jungkook.
"I don't remember the names! Got knocked right out of my head, you people keep hitting me." Tae knew they were likely dead anyway, given the way that Jungkook guy talked he wasn't going to have a nice death either. But the guy who had made the deal with him had been creepy and he'd told Tae what he planned on doing to Jimin should they fuck up and he was not risking even just an off-chance of any of that happening to his friend. "Their last name's probably Kim. Everyone's is. Mine is."
"The combination is enough though, isn't it? Because then you can get your coke back." That seemed enough to call it even, couldn't they just leave it at that. He struggled against the guard, who just held him tighter to stop him from causing any more trouble. "We screwed up, we get it but torturing Tae isn't going to make either one of us more talkative."
"Oh, shut up." Jungkook punched Jimin in the face, tired of hearing him trying to defend them. He didn't need to hear it. "The coke isn't enough. We need the names of the people."
"Yeah, but--" He sniffed a little, his face hurt so much. "I mean... they probably are called Kim." Just saying. Korea.
For a few moments, Yoongi just stared at them both. Then he pulled out his gun and pointed it at Tae, who closed his eyes, screwed them shut tightly, but tears still pooled at the corners. How old were these kids anyway? Yoongi was glad he hadn't taken Namjoon with him. He hesitated about putting a bullet in the boy, although there were ways to not make it deadly. Whatever.
He turned suddenly, putting the gun back away while heading for the door, giving a barely visible nod to Jungkook so he'd know to follow him. For one thing, he needed to cool his temper and for another he needed to make a game plan.
Once he was outside the room, he started texting Namjoon to send someone to the location Jimin had given them. Might as well get the coke back.
Jungkook exhaled loudly, giving Tae and Jimin a death glare as he made his way out. Those kids were fucking lucky that they were alive. Why were they even alive? What the hell? He guessed Yoongi really wanted that name. As they stepped outside, he shut the door firmly and leaned against it. "They're such dumb kids."
Seriously. Really just so dumb. "I don't get it. Why won't they just tell us the name? They're literally going to die if they don't. Why would they have loyalty to a random gang?" It didn't add up.
"No idea, but your Tae is apparently ready to die over it, so who even knows?" There was something there, with the way they reacted to each other, but he had no idea what and it annoyed him. "I need the name or names, Jungkook." Might as well explain it, the boy was here to learn. "No one knows that I'd trust Hoseok enough to store something like that at his place. No one outside the inner circle."
Everyone knew Namjoon was his other half, but it was different with Hoseok. "Whoever sent those idiots knew more than anyone should know. We might have a rat. I need to know whatever they know, what they were told, everything." He looked at Jungkook, just making sure he followed. "You get it, yeah? Why this is so important."
"I know it's important, Yoongi-hyung. I will do my best to get you answers. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it." If there was a rat, he had to find them and kill them for ever betraying them like this. He didn't want to even contemplate who would do that to them - they were supposed to be a team. Teams didn't rat.
"I think the best thing to do is separate them, hurt them and, at the very least, maybe we can play off their love and loyalty for each other. They might give up more if they think the other is in a lot of pain." Which meant making both of them scream near each other. Which Jungkook liked to do. It didn't even have to be real pain, sometimes he just twisted nipples. So funny!
"You just want to hurt that kid, huh?" Couldn't exactly blame him. Yoongi looked at his watch, thinking it over. "You have a point though. You're in charge for now, get them somewhere better suited for that set-up. Place is too soundproof and I'm freezing." Well, it was really cold, even with his coat on. "Let the cute one eat and drink, he's been cooperative. It's important they know that cooperating actually gets perks."
However minor the perks might be. "Just set them up wherever you want. I trust you. I have some stuff to do, but I'll meet you again this afternoon, around three? Get the combination from that kid and send it to Deok-su, I sent him down there. If it's the right combination, maybe let him drink or whatever. Don't be too nice." Not that he thought that'd be a huge worry. "Otherwise, keep them however uncomfortable you want, but no permanent damage until I'm there. All clear?"
"Gotcha, boss." He gestured a guard to come closer and told him to go get their hostages and transport them to the warehouse he liked to use for operations like this. He had a few guys who could help him out. He loved to play these kind of games, Yoongi always gave him the best jobs. As the guard went, he looked at Yoongi and bowed to his respectfully.
"Thank you for this opportunity, hyung. I won't let you down. When you come at three, I will have the combination. I swear."
"I know you won't let me down." It wasn't actually spoken as a threat, which Yoongi might do with someone else, but here there was a degree of warmth to his words. "You already did well so far. I'll see you in a few."
With that he turned and walked out, checking his phone to remind him of his actual schedule.
