hmmm, right now on the switch, there is let's go eevee or let's go pikachu, I think they might be good for beginners and they'd be fun for someone like tae too, probably!
and then if you have access to a 3DS, you can play sun or moon or ultra sun/ultra moon and alpha sapphire or omega ruby are really good places to start too
