"Reading music as well as you do at your age, that's definitely a sign that you're smart and it's really good. Great." Yoongi grinned and ruffled Jiho's hair. "Remember when you told me about how pressure makes you want to eat even less? I think it's the same with you and studying. Plus, I think you might have dyslexia. Namjoon thought so too. You'll get to do a test and then there will be extra lessons to help you with that. Reading will get much easier, I promise."
Yoongi shook his head. "Everyone's brain is a bit different. I mean, you can see without glasses, right? Jin can't. And words move for you, but not for Jin. We just need to give you something that helps you, like Jin has his glasses. None of that means being stupid."
"Okay. I like not being stupid." Jiho smiled, unsure what else to do. He raised his arms and hugged Yoongi back, melting into the hold. He so rarely got hugged and this was just everything right now. He didn't want to let go but he knew it'd be weird to hang on. He pulled back and hugged himself instead, looking at the doorway. "Thank you for never pressuring me. That's why I like piano a lot. You don't yell if I make a mistake. Eomma never did either."
And he found it so much easier to think and to do things. "After TaeTae watches Pokemon, can we play a little?"
"Yeah, I was gonna suggest that anyway." Yoongi hugged Jiho once more, holding him close even after he had let go, after he was hugging himself. He wanted to let him know that there wasn't a thing like hugging too much. "For now, maybe you can sit with Namjoon and Tae and watch pokemon a little and I'll come with the pizza menu so you can help pick what we order, yeah? And then we eat some pizza while we watch pokemon and then Tae can have a bath and we can practice piano. You don't always have to be the one taking care of Tae now, all right? Us adults are there for that too. There to take care of you and of Tae."
"Okay... at bath time, be careful with the shampoo. He cries if it gets into his eyes. You have to be really careful." Jiho smiled and pulled away, heading out to see his brother. The cartoon was on and both Namjoon and Tae looked utterly fixated, both hugging a plushie each. His teacher was such a kid. Jiho laughed a little, walking over to Tae and ruffling his hair.
"Uh-huh! They are in pokeballs! And they are really cute, but they can do a lot of damage." Tae had been learning a lot. "That's pikachu! He is friends with the boy with the red hat now. They want to get all the badges!"
It was so cool. "Joonie-hyung has been to everywhere in pokemon and he has all the badges!" That was the best accomplishment he'd ever heard of. "He's the ultimate champion!"
"Nah, I'm not so good at games. I bet Jin has though. Jin is so good. He's ranked number one in all of Korean in... some game." He forgot the name of it but he watched Jin play for a long time. Jin almost forgot he was there. Typical gamer. He wondered if he played Pokemon too. He knew he played Mario all the time. "I don't have the focus for games."
"They're fun. I'll borrow you my DS and games, you could play through it with TaeTae some time." Maybe that'd be a fun indoorsy project for them.
Also nerd sons were easier than active sons, right?
"Some games are good for dexterity, that's good for piano." Yoongi grinned and handed Jiho the pizza menu. "They have the weirdest pizzas these days. Anything that looks good to you?"
Tae wanted to look at the pizza, but he also had to watch pokemon and so he just decided to trust Jiho. That usually worked out for him. "Hyung, you pick something for me WHOA!"
His eyes were wide. For him, watching anything was apparently really exciting. "What's that pokemon? Ohhh..." He listened to the explanation on the show and bounced a little. "So cute!"
Jiho looked over the pizzas and found the perfect one for Tae, pointing it out to Yoongi. "Vegetables are a good topping for Tae and he likes chicken. I'll just have plain. I don't like a lot of stuff on mine but tomatoes and cheese." That was just more food to eat and he didn't always find it was ideal. He liked to make a really good bite and plain was always the best for that.
"He is cute, right? Aww man. I forgot how cool this show was." Namjoon laughed and picked up Tae, pulling him into his lap. "They're as cute as you."
Tae looked over to Jiho to make sure that him being on Namjoon's lap was okay and not somehow bad, then he smiled and leaned back, deciding that he liked it. It was like a hug, but really nice and cool and from a big person! "You are like an eomma," he told Namjoon, because in his eyes that was the biggest compliment.
Yoongi smirked. "See? He notices your feminine mystique." He had to tease. Hey, he was a big fan of any of Namjoon's fashionable attempts to bridge gender roles, but this was still entertaining. He handed the menu to Namjoon. "Tell me what you want, eomma."
"I'm not an eomma! I'm an appa. An appa that looks awesome in a skirt." Namjoon insisted, rolling his eyes. "Not that I do that often because -- you know, I don't want to get fired." The school was very traditional. Wasn't worth it. "Your very beautiful boyfriend would like pepperoni on his, thank you."
Wrapping his arms gently around Tae, he held him close as he watched TV. "It's okay to be your eomma though, TaeTae, I'll let you off." He turned his head and gave Jiho a look. "Do not spread it around class or I'm picking you for extra credit next month."
Jiho was already smirking and looking like he was ready to tell the whole school. It was funny! "I won't. Eomma."
"I do have a beautiful boyfriend," Yoongi agreed, before getting up so he could make the call to order the pizza, ending up adding one of those four variety ones, just in case Jiho or Namjoon felt like trying something new out. Unlikely, but hey. At least he would have a lot to try. Besides, any leftovers would be great for lunch tomorrow, they had a lot of administrative and other stuff to worry about.
"I'm a little bit like an eomma too," Tae informed Namjoon while he continued watching the screen, smiling so happily. "But really, are you and Yoongi-hyung like appas for us now?" That was so weird. "You are so young! Appa is way, way, wayyyy older. And he smells."
"He does smell." Namjoon agreed. "But look, we're young and this is a lot for us but we want to do it and we will. We're official boyfriends who can do anything." And as long as they never went near bran again, they were fine. "We have friends who can help out and we have space, we have stable jobs so it really helps our application form."
"Yoongi hyung said you had a bad appa ... is that true?" Jiho wasn't sure if he was allowed to bring it up but Yoongi had said.
"Oh yeah, my dad was the worst so I get it." Namjoon looked at Tae and gently bopped his nose. "My dad smelled too. Me and Yoongi won't. We shower often."
"Did your appa hurt you? Mine threw me!" Tae showed with his hand. "Bang! Against the wall." Wait. He frowned suddenly, turning to look at Jiho and lowering his voice. "Is it a secret, hyung?"
It always had been before, but now Yoongi and Namjoon already knew that their appa was bad, so maybe he could talk about it? "I won't tell Jiminie, cause he would cry." He always cried, so it stood to reason.
"It's not a secret with these two." Jiho still didn't like to talk about it but he knew it was healthy for Tae to talk about it so he let him.
"Oooh, yeah. My appa hit a lot. He once sent me to the hospital. He cracked my skull, luckily not too badly, but I had to wear a silly bandage on my head for ages. He said I fell off my bike but he shoved me really hard into a wall." So he got what it was like to hit a wall - interestingly enough. "Some people just like to be mean bullies. Some appas do and some eommas as well but ... not every appa and eomma is bad."
"We had a really good eomma!" Jiho nodded. "Can eommas be bad?"
"Yeah, Hobi-hyung had a bad eomma but not all eommas are like that, yeah?"
"Oh no! Someone was mean to Hobi-hyung?" Tae's eyes immediately filled with tears. Sometimes he cared too much. "I'll hug him." Then it would be better. Maybe he could draw him something? "Our eomma was really good, but I didn't know her well. But I know all about her from Jiho and I got to see her after the wall thing."
Not that he had liked being in pain this much, but it was nice to see his eomma, even if it was only in his head. "My Jiminie has a really good appa and eomma too."
"Miss Korea? Yeah, I hear they are nice people." And rich. Really rich. But then, so were a lot of people at that school.
Namjoon had to laugh. "Yeah, she's miss Korea. I had a meeting with her once and I got so tongue tied. She's so pretty. And I'm gay but I still got tongue tied." It was hard, she was so damn beautiful. He smiled like a dope as he thought about it. How did a girl get to be that beautiful? Sometimes he wished he had flawless skin like her.
"Don't worry too much about Hobi-hyung, he's a big boy now. He has Ten for cuddles too." And way more than that.
"I heard that Ten and Hobi made out in the school swimming pool." Jiho remarked idly because he had heard that. "They're weird."
"You shouldn't believe everything you here, Jiho." An important lesson. "... But that is true."
"They are weird," Yoongi agreed, sitting down next to Jiho. "Just don't tell people what you find out because of us, yeah? You are in a teacher family now, you have all the inside scoop."
"Like ice cream." Tae did like scoops of ice cream. "Can we visit Jimin's and Jin's house again now? Cause appa said no, he was really mad!" Obviously.
"Yeah, you can. Not now though, maybe in a few weeks. You know the doctor told you to be careful, because of your ribs, and we don't want someone else to have to watch out for you, but maybe Jimin and Jin can visit here? You'd have to be hosts."
"What do we tell them about what happened cause we don't live with appa any more. And we were off school. Do I lie to Jin? Is it right to? He's my best friend." Lying to Jin just felt wrong. Namjoon sighed, unsure what advise was best. He shrugged his shoulders and then looked over at Yoongi.
"I don't know... I would say that you should do what you feel is best. If you can trust Jin, you could tell him a little but if you want to keep it to yourself, we can cover for you."
Jiho nodded and smiled a small bit, blushing. "Jin said I'm his best friend and we'll marry some day."
"Hmm. It's a smart idea to marry your best friend. Namjoon is my best friend." Not that they were married, but hey. They had a certificate, so it was all very official. "You should probably tell him. If you want, everyone can know and maybe Namjoon can talk about it in your class. Maybe it will help someone else who has a bad appa or eomma. Or you just explain it to Jin. Jin's a smart kid, I'm sure he gets it. He'll hug you again."
One never knew. Tae frowned, thinking about it.
"I dunno if Jiminie can understand, cause he only knows his eomma and appa and they are really nice, you know? I don't know." What was he supposed to do?
"I would rather not tell people. I might tell Jin but... not yet." Jiho didn't know if he wanted that much attention on him. He stroked Tae's hair and gave him a small smile. "No pressure to do anything, yeah. We do our own thing. Me and you. If you want it to be a secret, that's as fine as not having it be a secret."
Namjoon nodded and put an arm around Tae. "Except never lie to appa."
Cause that would make life harder. "Erm, me and Yoongi. Not the smelly appa."
