Tae stared at the pokémon and Ryan with big eyes, then he finally reached out carefully and petted Ryan's head. "Hi."
He bowed his head a little bit, being polite. Even as he greeted the plushie. And then one after the other the other plushies, all with a very serious expression. Yoongi just shrugged his shoulders. Honestly, he didn't know what to make of that either, but Namjoon had been insistent.
In the meantime, he handed Jiho a music player with a set of headphones. The music player was in the colour Jiho had told him before was his favourite. "That's yours. I put some music on it already for now, but I'll show you how you can put your own on it when we're home."
"You got me a music player?" Woah. That was a cool gift. How was he supposed to pay Yoongi back? He frowned a little and then looked it over, it was pretty cool. Blue too. He liked blue. He smiled at Yoongi, unable to believe he wasn't going home to his appa any more. It didn't seem real.
Namjoon sat on Tae's bed and smiled at him, picking up Ryan to encourage Tae to take it, just in case he felt too unsure to do so.
"I bought all of these for you. You own them now. Which means you have to take really good care of them." Especially Ryan, he was a collectable but he didn't say that just yet. "I'm Namjoon-hyung, Jiho's teachers and Yoongi's official boyfriend." Yep. He had a certificate.
"You made it official?" Jiho looked at Yoongi with amusement. "About time."
"Music player and headphones. Not cheap stuff either, so you take good care of it." Where music was concerned, Yoongi really didn't believe in cheaping out. He sat down on the edge of Jiho's bed, getting out his phone and opening the album to show some pictures. "Joon-ah and I spent the morning doing some prep work for when you two get home. We moved the piano from your future room to the living room, look."
He figured that giving Jiho something visual would help the whole thing feel more real. "We also ordered beds for you yesterday, they should get there today. My parents are giving us some stuff, desks and chairs and all that."
Tae took Ryan into his arms and hugged him close, smiling a little at Namjoon, even though he still felt unsure. "My hyung likes you." So he automatically liked him too. "What does official mean?" He had heard the word before, but he wasn't sure.
"I laminated him something, so he'd stop hitting on bran guys." Yoongi shrugged. Hey, it had worked.
"There was no bran guy and stop bringing it up! We're official, that's all that matters. Like true love, yeah?" Namjoon crossed his legs as he sat opposite Tae, looking over the pokemon he got and showing them to Tae one by one, explaining what they were, their special attacks and what type they were. Seemed like a better conversation topic than bran guy.
While Namjoon explained Pokemon, Jiho looked at his future room with confusion. Was he really getting all of that?
"I hope it doesn't cost too much. I'm sorry. I can pay you back." Kangwoo always told him he had to pay him back one day so he kind of assumed that was normal. He could pay Yoongi back, he actually liked him! "You don't have to worry too much about us. We'll stay out of the way and I'll take care of Tae."
"Nuh-uh. You focus on school and piano. My house, my rules. I take care of you kids. But you're a big boy, so your help is gonna be appreciated." Yoongi knew he'd have a lot of unlearning to do with Jiho and Tae, so he wasn't going to just let it pass by. "You don't gotta pay me back either. Don't worry about that. You can worry about money when you're old enough to have to."
Although Kangwoo had a lot of money and it was looking likely that Tae and Jiho wouldn't have to worry about that, but that, too, could be figured out later.
Tae was in another world, because here he was learning about so many creatures and he was fascinated. It was like a nature documentary! Only even cooler, because he got to snuggle what they were talking about. "Is it a game? Or a movie?" He wanted to know everything. He kissed the Eevee and beamed at Namjoon. "Hyung, you know so much! That's why you are a teacher."
"They're Pokemon. It's a game and a show and a movie. We can watch the cartoon together when you're better, yeah? You might be too little for the games." He smiled at Tae and picked up Pikachu, pretending to walk up to Tae and then kiss his nose, smiling at how cute the boy was. He was so precious. "Aww, look, pikachu likes you. That's special. You must be so special."
He set Pikachu in Tae's lap gently. "I'm a teacher cause I'm a nerd but I do know a lot of stuff. Especially about Pokemon."
Jiho couldn't help but look at his brother, happily talking to his teacher - it made his heart warm. He loved when people were nice to Tae, he hated the way appa treated him.
He looked up at Yoongi, smiling sheepishly. "I always worry. I'm like eomma. My eomma always worried. She said she had to cause appa never did." And Jiho just assumed he had to as well.
"Oh no. Am I?" Tae covered his nose and looked at pikachu and then back up at Namjoon, smiling while he moved to now hold three plushies in his arms. Soon he'd be holding them all. "I wanted to be big really quickly so I could be in your class, hyung, but Jiho-hyung says I have to wait."
So mean. Life was not fair. But he liked pokemon already, he wanted to watch the show!
"Well, you don't have to worry anymore, because I worry a lot." Yoongi could assure him of that. "And you still have to worry too, Jiho, but worry about yourself." Seemed as if that would leave plenty of material for all kinds of worries. "I'm new to all this, so we have to figure a lot out together. Can you tell me what you and Tae like to eat and if there's anything you don't eat? Like, Namjoon doesn't eat seafood."
"It's okay, it's nothing special and besides, I'll wait for you. I'll save all the really good lessons for you and Jiho, yeah?" He smiled at Tae as if he was letting him in on something special, smiling as he reached out to ruffle his hair. "Until then, how about we come back to Yoongi's apartment when you're all better and we can watch Pokemon and hang out. Does that sound fun?"
He assumed it'd be way more fun than sitting through his class.
Jiho frowned at the question and then looked over at Tae. "He's a good eater, he'll eat anything. And if you make silly noises, he'll always open his mouth." Tae liked most things, he'd yet to find something Tae utterly hated. "I ... I don't like a lot of foods. Sorry."
"That's okay. Namjoon likes three foods." Slight exaggeration, but only slight. "You can write me a list, maybe? I'm an okay cook, I'm sure we can find something you like." Food was a big thing, the doctor had told him that, so he figured he might as well share with Jiho. "They told me that both you and Tae are a bit malnourished. That means you haven't been eating so well. So we gotta make sure we fix that, so you'll grow big and strong."
"YES!" Tae was answering Namjoon's questions, not Yoongi's. "Can I come back real soon? Cause I hurt, but not too bad. And when can I go to school?" He frowned, troubled. "Hyung, it's school tomorrow and we are building kites..." Now he couldn't be there to continue his kite! Tragedy! Woe! "Also Jiminie will miss me a lot."
"I like to cook but eating is always hard. It's not that Kangwoo didn't feed up, I just -- I can't eat a lot and -- and then people start pressuring me." And Jiho reacted badly under pressure. When he was little, he couldn't eat all of what was made and Kangwoo would push him until he cried, then mock him for crying. Eating became such a nightmare. "I like little bits. Tae, uh, Tae won't eat unless I'm eating. So. It's awkward." They did everything together. Even at their detriment.
"Don't worry about it. I spoke to Ten and he said he was going to save the kite you were making with Jiminie. They're gonna pause the project until you're well." He wasn't sure when Tae could go back. Ten said whenever he wanted to, he'd keep an eye on him but damn, Tae was so small. "You can go back soon."
"Then we'll figure it out together, yeah? Maybe you and I cook together and we just do it relaxed." Yoongi didn't expect it to be easy, but he knew by now from all their lessons that pressure was the worst thing to do to Jiho. Not pressuring him seemed key to actually helping him. "We can all have little bits. Or we have my eomma over and she'll make everyone eat."
"Okay." Tae nodded. "I really like kindergarten. We learn about aerodynamics." He liked that word so much! "I want to know everything, so I have to learn a lot." He had a very set goal in life. "Hyung, you can't tell Jiminie that I got hurt! He'll cry. He always cries."
"Your eomma is scary. But in a nice way." Jiho laughed a little, smiling up at Yoongi and then looking back down at his music player. This was all so nice, how did he get to be this lucky? It didn't seem right. "I like spaghetti." He knew that. Jin's eomma made it for him and Tae, he always loved having Italian food. "Pasta is fun."
Namjoon laughed and then pulled out his phone, looking up some cool kite videos and opening them up, showing them to Tae. "I won't tell anyone. It's not my place to tell people. Me and Yoongi won't be mentioning what happened."
"Thank you." Jiho bowed a little. He really didn't want Jin to know.
"We just tell people you are too sick to go to school. Although I think you should be all right to go some time next week, Jiho, just when you are ready." Tae was a different matter, because not only was he pretty injured, his face was also obviously bruised and he just looked so fragile that the thought of him being out in the world frightened Yoongi. He was a worrier.
"I can go to kindergarten," Tae assured everyone, "I can go now!" He tried to sit up, but it hurt and also Yoongi quickly called out.
"It's Sunday! Don't worry about it yet, TaeTae. Maybe tomorrow you and Jiho can come home and then we will order pizza."
"Tae, inside voice." Jiho scolded lightly as he shot his brother a look. Just because he was hurt didn't mean they could ignore manners. What would would appa and eomma say if they saw them. "You can go to kindergarten when you're not bruised. You want Jiminie not to cry then you have to get better. If you won't get better, you'll never go back."
Namjoon found it kind of funny actually. Jiho spoke like such a little parent. It was sad in many ways but it was kind of funny.
"TaeTae is just excited for pizza, Jiho. It's okay." Namjoon dismissed, ruffling Tae's hair. "How about until you go to kindergarten again, you have special lessons with Joonie-hyung? Big boy lessons."
"Can I learn everything, Joonie-hyung?" Tae shook off his embarrassment over being called out by his brother quickly, looking at Namjoon while he snuggled his various plushies, feeling like it had to be Christmas and birthday all rolled up into one. "Really, really?"
"Maybe start with some things," Yoongi suggested with a smirk, shaking his head. "You also gotta practise piano even if you don't go to school right away, Jiho. I figure maybe you go some time next week, but not Monday or Tuesday."
"Whatever you think is best, hyung. I would like to keep playing though, I don't like missing lessons. That's how you become a failure." He knew practice made perfect and to not practice was to fail and lose. He would keep on trying, he would be a great pianist and with competitions! Then Yoongi would love him. He smiled a little. "I can do it. I'll keep practising. Tae likes to hear me play."
"You can learn sooooo much with me but first, you rest, relax and cuddle your plushies." Namjoon lectured as he tucked the boy in a little and pushed the plushies all around him. "They're all looking for hugs. Hug attack! Look at how lucky you are, Tae. So loved."

He was just going to go ahead and call it home.
