Yoongi waited outside Namjoon's classroom, sipping on the coffee he had bought for himself and holding the one he had gotten for Namjoon. Namjoon liked his coffee sweet and with weird flavours, so he had provided. Even if these things could barely be called coffee anymore.
It was good coffee too, he had gone to the coffee shop across the street instead of getting what the teacher's lounge had. Apparently he had something to make up for, after all.
Jin nodded at him when he came back from the bathroom, then headed into the classroom, closing the door behind him and stopping by Namjoon's desk. "Yoongi-ssi is waiting for you outside."
"Oh... huh. Oh no. Oh God. What if this is about the random bran hunk? I don't think I can explain my way out of it. What do I do?!" He realised he was freaking out at a ten year old and soon stopped himself looking sheepishly at Jin. "Uh... never mind. Sorry. Go take your seat."
Hurriedly, he went to the door and slipped outside, eyeing up Yoongi and trying to gauge his mood. Curse his expressionless face.
"Hey... I was gonna wait until your lesson's done." But on the other hand, the coffee might be cold by then, so Yoongi held out the cup, careful to hold it so Namjoon would hopefully manage to take it from him without spilling or burning himself somehow. He knew how to handle him.
Sometimes. "I brought you coffee." Evidently. "It's the one you like, the cinnamon one."
"Chai." Namjoon smiled as he inhaled the scent, had one relax, calm moment and then it all fell apart as he looked desperately at Yoongi. "I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. There was no bran hunk I met in the cereal aisle, I know it was a cunningly crafted story but... I just ... I wanted to do what Hobi said and I fucked it up entirely."
He really should have never tried to make Yoongi jealous. "I don't know why I tried it. I didn't really want to do it. I was overthinking. Don't be mad at me. Please?"
"You always overthink. And you always overprepare." Which he knew by now, but still. Yoongi smiled a little bit and put his hand in his pocket, holding out a card for Namjoon. It was laminated, because, well. In his experience, Namjoon was one of those teachers that loved to laminate stuff. "Here. Take this. Does that help?"
"Oh my God... it's laminated. I could hang it up." Namjoon beamed and hugged the stupid thing close before catching himself and feeling like an idiot cause clearly this was joke and not intentionally a cool present. He smiled sheepishly at Yoongi and nodded. "It does. I'm sorry for being so weird. I can't help it. I really like you, I don't want to lose you."
And clearly making him jealous and playing hard to get? Bad ideas. "I'll never eat bran again. Promise."
"It's fine. I overreacted, probably. I mean, I know you wouldn't... make a move on some weird bran guy. You didn't even make a move on me before I straddled you, so." Yoongi wasn't exactly dealing with someone likely to do anything like that.
"I think I knew that you were probably making it up for whatever reason, but it just reminded me of stuff from my past. I don't like games, you know? I don't want to play with you."
Wait.
"Like, I'm fine playing video games. But not relationship stuff."
"I didn't like it either. I just felt bad since it happened. Like I'm a horrible person and I deserve to die alone. That sort of thing. I want to just be with you. That's cool, right? Cause that's all I'm after." He held his hand out and took Yoongi's, smiling softly at him. He was so lucky. "Can I come to yours tonight? We could have food and--"
There was a loud crash into his classroom and kids cheering, he turned his head and winced. They were probably playing with his wheely chair again. "I shouldn't leave them unattended for long."
"Go inside, Joon-ah. I'll be here after work, we can go to my place. You already have a shoe there, so."
What more could he need? Yoongi smiled, pulling Namjoon down and kissing him briefly, really not wanting to get caught doing that. "I missed you, yeah? Don't worry, Joon-ah. We are in this together."
Because here he was, missing the guy he had been with less than twenty four hours ago. He didn't like fighting with Namjoon.
Namjoon headed back inside the room, yelling at the kids to settle down and a lot more bouncy. He had an official certificate, he was definitely Yoongi's bae now. This was just the best day. And later on, they got dinner and kissing to look forward to.
