"That's okay, we don't need a bus." Jungkook reassured him as they wandered around the alleyway networks. It wasn't the best area, lots of dodgy people eyeing them up, lots of yelling and strange men. Jungkook found himself scared and whimpered, clinging to Yoongi's leg and making it very hard to walk.
He was so low down, all the scary people on the floor could look right at him. They could grab him! He didn't want to be grabbed. Whining, he tried to climb up Yoongi.
Yoongi reached down, wrapped his arms around Jungkook and lifted him up, cupping the back of his head to tuck him securely against himself. "Shh, it's fine. We're going to find a good spot somewhere."
Here he was, carrying a small child. Not as if it never happened around here, but now it was him and the thought alone made him anxious. Tomorrow he'd be able to pass him on into capable hands. He could keep him well for a night.
"I'm not really scared. I didn't cry. I just don't like being low down." Jungkook defended himself as he hid against Yoongi's neck, shivering lightly against him. It was going to be a cold night, he was glad that he was going to have Yoongi to keep him safe. He needed his hyung. And that's what Yoongi was. He looked over Yoongi's shoulders bravely. "No one can hurt me cause I have a hyung. He's the strongest and bravest. I bet if someone hurt me, you'd beat them up."
Like all the good hyungs could. He was sure of it.
"I'd beat up the bad hyungs for you too. I can punch really good. We'll keep each other safe. We're big boys."
"Yeah. We'll do that, for tonight. You can have hyung's coat as a blanket and I'll hold you." Together, that should manage to keep the boy somewhat warm. He hoped. He was so not suited for this, he wished he could offer him more. At least he had fed him well, at least he could keep him safe. "I'd beat up anyone for you."
A promise he made immediately, no hesitation there. "But we won't need to beat up anyone. See, doesn't that look like your Chinese food place right there?"
"Yes! There's a panda on the sign, look. It's funny." He nodded his head with a small smile, giggling to himself as he hugged close to Yoongi. "We can sit down in the dry patch and cuddle. You need a nap, hyung. Then you'll feel better. I don't like that you don't feel good. We're brothers so we have to stay healthy and together."
Jungkook had already decided that his hyung was really and truly his hyung and that meant that they would take care of each other and stay together. "Me, you and Dooly." They were family. "Tomorrow you'll feel better and I'll make you soup!"
"I do need a nap." That much was for sure. Yoongi found the dry patch Jungkook indicated and sat down, letting go of the boy so he could undo his coat. "Come cuddle close, Kookie. You are so small, you can fit right in here with me."
Between how little he weighed these days and how big the coat was, that probably was actually possible. He waited for Jungkook to snuggle him, then closed up the coat a little again, hoping that their combined body heat would be enough to keep Jungkook warm all night.
"Comfy, hyung." Warmer than last night for sure. He snuggled, hugging himself against Yoongi and let Dooly get smushed against Yoongi too. Well, at least the thing had no stuffing hardly, it could fit anywhere. "We have to say good night and sweet dreams or we won't have sweet dreams. Okay?"
Jungkook smiled up at his hyung and rested his head on his chest, listening to his heart beat as he closed his eyes. "Good night and sweet dreams."
"Good night and sweet dreams." Yoongi didn't think he was going to have a good night, but at least it would be warmer than last night. And at the very least he thought that Jungkook's night might be a good one, compared to what else could have happened. Tomorrow he could find a better place for him.
