"I'm chill." Well, he was not, but he had his head rested against Namjoon's shoulder and his eyes closed and, honestly, he wished he could just do nothing right now. Maybe sleep like this, that sounded like a great deal. "I don't wanna work."
He stayed still for a few more moments, then he finally pulled away, letting go of Namjoon and settling back in his chair for the damn paperwork. "How are things going with TaeTae and his brother? I only talk to Minjun and Hobi."
"Erm, well, still not official word on how we are proceeding forward but we're close to having a plan put together. Hobi is helping Minjun get more stable before anything is finalised. I think Jiho and Tae are settling in a little but, you know, they're anxious. As expected." They knew the boys by now, they were a strange but sweet pair. Always holding hands, always talking to each other. Even if the older played it cool and kept distance, it was clear that they loved each other a lot.
Good. They'd probably have to depend on each other for a while. "I worry about them. They're under the care of teenagers really."
"They need to have a caretaker there. I don't know, just... Someone, a nanny or something. Ten and Minjun are still children themselves and they have enough to focus on." Yoongi had a lot of sympathy for them all in this situation, he just wasn't sure how he could best help them with it all. "They can't raise them and there's no need for that either. It's pretty common, having nannies or something. Just someone to take care of them."
"We'll arrange it. Jimin said he knew some people who'd be great for it and we can arrange to help pay for it. I don't think they should be left alone. Hell, you know that Jiho would probably try to raise Tae and he's too young, he's a kid himself. They're all too young for this shit." Fucking Kangwoo, couldn't he be halfway decent for once. He huffed angrily and leaned back in his chair. "We'll work it out... we just need to keep on top of things. Somehow. I didn't expect any of this to happen."
"Minjun can pay for it. Money isn't really the problem. You know, he's not half-bad with finances, Hobi filled me in. He has a good head for the business really, once you get past the punk attitude, but luckily he has morals."
As opposed to, obviously, his cousin Kangwoo. No morality holding him back from earning money. Obviously. "It's important that Minjun starts to be autonomous as quickly as possible, because his claim to power is largely based on being a better option than Kangwoo. So he has to be, in every aspect. Him having the brothers helps a lot."
Yoongi wrote down a few numbers and then turned the page he was looking over. "The question is what Kangwoo's move will be."
"Kangwoo has apparently claimed that we stole his brothers and spread these rumours about him so that we can slip our own double agent in - specifically, Minjun." The frustrating thing is that on the surface, it added up. The only people who could vouch for the truth were two small kids and they could be forced to say anything, logically speaking. "Kangwoo is good at this stuff, he knows how to spin bad PR. The more extreme it gets, the more they think it's a lie because ... I mean, why would someone kill their brothers?"
He got it, he knew Kangwoo was psychotic and paranoid but he didn't present that to the world. So how could they know? "It's started to breed a lot of unease with how they view Minjun so I don't even know. They're losing it. All of them."
"As far as the clan is concerned... We need the family to be stable, we can't have it imploding. That would be bad for business. It doesn't matter, to the clan, whether Minjun or Kangwoo is in charge. I know we have a personal stake in this, but none of that is any claim that I can make the clan's agenda." Jungkook was his now, but any offence to him had happened before he had taken him. Everything else was technically none of their business.
"There is division though. Unless Kangwoo teamed up with Minjun, neither of them could unite the whole family again, as things stand right now. And unfortunately our personal stake - the two little boys - are caught up in it all."
"I'm just worried they'll end up dead. I can't see a light at the end of the tunnel." He just wanted to step in and handle it for them but he knew he couldn't, he had no say. He had held Tae a few times before he left, let him cry his eyes out and comforted him. It was so hard to have to let him go. His fate was so uncertain.
Yoongi's phone buzzed a few times, some messages from Jimin.
don't freak out SERIOUSLY DON'T. AND NO GUNS, NO SCARY FACE, NO YELLING
"I'll think of something, Joon-ah. We can figure it out." Yoongi looked at his phone, frowning. "Jungkookie's sad, I'm going downstairs."
He got up and leaned down to kiss Namjoon, since he knew that he was sad too - and for very good reason. "I love you. Just think of how much crap you and I already dealt with. We can save those two boys."
Somehow. Yoongi headed for the door and unlocked it, taking the lift straight down. No gun, no bodyguards, he was perfectly calm and as non-threatening as Min Yoongi could look when he got to the kindergarten, stepping up to Jimin. "What's up?"
"He's just upset, I think. He misses his appa. It's been a big day for Jungkookie. You've been apart from appa for almost two whole hours. What a big boy!" Especially impressive given his anxiety issues but slowly, Jungkook started to fully understand that appa was gone and a meltdown had proceeded. He was in Jimin's arms, crying against him.
As soon as he saw Yoongi, he reached out and tried to grab him. Jimin laughed, endeared by the boy. "Aww, no, my poor Kookie. He was such a brave hero."
Jimin beamed at Yoongi. "Tomorrow, we'll aim for three hours and then by the end of next week, he'll make it to nap time. You watch!"
"I was staring at my phone, Jungkookie, you are braver than I am. You can ask dada." Yoongi whispered it near Jungkook's ear and then he took him into his arms, but he didn't leave just yet. He held his boy and looked him over, checking that he was all right. "Tell me what you did, yeah? I'm curious."
Well, he was. "Appa has never been in kindergarten, you'll have to explain how it all works. You know it better than me now."
"I-I--" Jungkook was so worked up from crying, it was hard to get the words out but Jimin was there, hero as always, walking over with a pretty picture that Jungkook painted. Washing his hands while he cried had been very difficult but Jimin didn't want to get paint on Min Yoongi's suit. Jungkook turned his head, wiping his eyes and pointing at the picture. "I painted appa and dada."
The weird blue and black blurs with purple around them were supposed to be Yoongi and Namjoon. Jimin beamed. "I'm pretty sure it's cause of your suit colours. Smart boy, he knows his colours."
"The colours look really good, Kookie. We'll put that up on the refrigerator at home." Yoongi studied the picture and nodded his approval, hugging Jungkook closer. "Did you talk to Jiminie? To any of the kids? I bet they are all nice. Were you nice too?"
He was sure he was, even if he was shy. "They have really good colours here, huh? Even better than at home."
Jungkook nodded and buried his head against Yoongi. He was very shy, he had managed to play with a few kids but in the end, he got too embarrassed and hid behind Jimin. A lot of today had been hiding behind Jimin. Not that he minded. Jimin smiled and leaned forward, stroking Jungkook's hair. "He talked to Taemin and Jinyoung, he played with Jiwoo a little bit. He did so well."
Jungkook nodded again, nuzzling into his appa. "I'm sleepy, appa. Can we go nap?"
