"That's what they say about the Min Clan but it's still a gang. Gangs are still built on misery of others. Gun trade, drugs, you guys even has an escort service. It might be better than the Dragons but that's like bragging a house fire isn't as bad as a forest fire. Neither is exactly a cause for celebration." Ten wasn't an idiot, despite what most people thought. He was hesitant for a reason and he didn't think that Yoongi would be shocked. Ten didn't want to go back into this world but ... with how things were, there wasn't a choice.
"If you live in this city, you have to chose a side." And unless he and Hobi ran, which seemed unlikely, they would have to pick something. Ten leaned back in his chair. "What job are you offering?"
Yoongi frowned for a moment. Escort service? He didn't know about that. He made a mental note, he would look into that. Seemed unusual, but maybe someone was messing around. He still had a lot of clean-up to do. He was so sick of killing. Whatever. "We aren't a charity. All I'm saying is that I keep my word."
He looked down at the papers, then offered another shrug. "It depends on your interests. There are several businesses that need someone I trust to run them. Whether with Hoseok or by yourself. I doubt you'd want to be an enforcer or anything along those lines, but if you do..."
He trailed off, then frowned briefly before looking at Ten again. "You would be high-ranking." In case there was confusion about that.
"I'm not really the intimidating kind of guy. I don't think I can enforce a lot. Nor do I want to." Ten laughed a little and leaned back in his chair, playful and fairly chipper given the conversation they were having. "You know me well, hyungie. I'm submissive. A guy starts to yell at me and I'm probably just gonna get hard and horny."
Obviously it was a joke but he couldn't help it. He couldn't just switch to formalities with him and he wouldn't unless it was forced on him. He just didn't do that.
"High ranking? Aww, you must love me." Pfft, as if. "Where was that love when you stole the ball and made a half court shot? I'm still bitter about that."
Of course he loved him. His easy smiles, quick wit, flirty attitude, so much about him. Yoongi wished Ten would know that instead of joking about it like it was ridiculous, but he knew what he had to do. Damn. He couldn't think to himself that he missed being Suga, because it hit him like a wave of guilt over the head, Namjoon's words still echoing.
"I trust you. I know you well enough." And he cared for him. A lot. "And maybe you should have guarded better."
He looked through the papers in front of him, finding one that he offered out to Ten. "There's a list of some businesses. I don't know if any of them interest you. You could change things around, of course. Decor, staff, whatever."
"I'll see what Hobi thinks. We make all decisions together." They had a lot to discuss already so this was just more on top. He took the list, eyed up and then folded it up neatly and tucked it into his inside zipper pocket so he wouldn't lose it. "We'll get back to you as soon as possible, boss man."
He looked at Yoongi for a while, not sure what to say to him because he knew Yoongi didn't really have the option of talking so freely now.
"My poor, soft boy." Yoongi had always been sweet, even if he had to do different things now, even if he might not be able to hang. He would always be his soft boy. "You can tell me what you like, they all can but you'll always be that. I'm sorry it's going to be hard now."
"Sure. Just let me know." Yoongi nodded his head. "You can tell Hoseok that I'll see him soon."
Of course he could have just called him Hobi too, but sticking to Hoseok helped. Helped him remember how Hobi called him Yoongi-nim. Just the way Namjoon always had when he wanted to be hurtful. It had morphed from jab into reality, didn't make it less painful.
He looked at Ten and shrugged. "That's life." It was always going to be his life. It wasn't as if he hadn't known. That was why he'd made the most of it when he had had the freedom. "Have a good day, yeah?"
"Sure. Try not to go crazy... and visit Namjoon some time." Not his place to say but Hobi was giving him blow by blow updates and these boys just needed to talk. He got up, smiled at Yoongi and bowed very politely before heading off. "Catch you later, Suga-hyung." He wasn't using nim, not unless he had to. They were friends so why would he?
