"Why did you yell at him?!" Jin looked slightly scandalised, turning to Yoongi curiously. It was hard to imagine him yelling, but then he supposed he didn't really know him. Yoongi had always been on duty and very formal whenever he was near him, the Yoongi Namjoon had told him about before sounded a lot different. But this story was new.
"I felt he was being an idiot. I didn't know who he was." Yoongi obviously would have thought he was an idiot regardless, but he probably wouldn't have told him to his face. Although he wasn't sure about that either, he had been a lot less disciplined as a child.
"Admittedly I saw six and he was nine." So. It wasn't like it was a big deal or anything Yoongi would have done as an adult. I was looking for crabs and my foot slipped, he saved me but he thought I was-- what did you call me?" Namjoon laughed a little tilting his head back with a toothy little smile. "Something like a brainless idiot or openheaded dummy. I can't remember."
The sentiment was there though. "Relax, Jin, he hasn't really yelled at me since. He still calls me stupid though." And Namjoon still was.
"Brainless idiot," Yoongi helpfully supplied, he remembered that very well. He'd assumed it would lead to him being executed initially, but instead he had gotten a chance for himself and his family that would have been beyond their reach otherwise. He was grateful to that brainless idiot. "Are you feeling better? I could update you on everything."
"I hear the snakes have finally vanished." Jin was very, very relieved about that.
"You can update me. I want to make a move on Cheon, look at the trouble he'd causing. I'm going to consider this an assassination attempt on my life. Though we will keep the details foggy. I won't get Ten in trouble." He said that mostly for Jin's benefit, he knew that Yoongi was likely on the same page. No point blaming a traumatised kid.
Lots of reasons to blame a dick like that. "Anything else happen? Any more ... snakes?" He meant the biggies, not the babies.
"It's what I've told our men. They are ready to go against Cheon." It wasn't as if their people didn't always look for an excuse to fight, but Cheon had definitely managed to make himself the ideal target, with a little bit of help from Yoongi. No one but him, Jin and Namjoon knew the details after all, even Jungkook only knew a little more than he had told the men. "I told Jungkook to set camp with the men and start training in earnest again. They'd gotten restless. But you have risen a lot in their esteem, Prince Jin, when they heard you wouldn't leave your husband's side."
Jin smiled a little, happy to hear that. He was still trying to understand how Namjoon's men thought.
"Ten told me to tell you that he's sorry. He didn't want to face you again himself. He said his grief makes his temper hard to control."
"I understand. I still don't know what... He's barely even human anymore, is he?"
Yoongi shrugged his shoulders. "We should be fine. The men know not to hurt any snake they might come across."
"I think Ten is ... difficult right now. But if he wants us, he will come. We can't worry too much." With a soft smile, he reached out and touched Jin, wanting him not to worry so much. He knew how bad Jin felt over it, he didn't think it was his fault. Just a cruel situation. "I'm sure he can protect himself. He's pretty damn strong these days, huh?"
So clearly he had someone looking out for him.
"I'm glad the men are training. I'm going to send word to my father, get some relief in. I think if we do this right, we can storm them and declare war in a month, if that. It shouldn't be that hard." He doubted any natives were left.
"Yes. I suppose so." Jin smiled a little, even if the worry never left his eyes. He leaned his head against Namjoon's shoulder for a few moments, relaxing as he did so. It had never before occurred to him that it would be able to gain strength from someone's company. He would have never thought that Namjoon could be that someone.
"If possible, I want to kill Cheon." Yoongi knew that things might not play out that way, but he had sworn, he swore every night, so he at the very least thought he ought to mention it.
"I didn't know you knew Ten, Min Yoongi." Jin did still wonder what that was all about.
"You really should have told me. I don't like when you hold things back. That night when I told you about Ten, you knew who he was and you didn't tell me. I would have -- I would have spared details." He wouldn't have been so cruel. He felt horrible for saying it all so bluntly to him. "I would have wanted to know, hyung."
Especially since he had apparently sworn to do this for Ten. He must have cared a lot.
"How do you know him? He's younger and from a different town, he doesn't strike me as someone you would have trained with there - being a prince and all."
"I didn't want to be spared details." Yoongi also really didn't want to discuss this, because it felt like his life, his memories, the last thing he really had left of who Ten had been to him. But obviously, with the way things were now, he knew he had to explain himself a little. "He watched me in training. I won a competition and he decided to award me."
Very unofficially and with a kiss, but still. That was what had happened. "So we met."
"Ten was always very forward." Jin supposed some things didn't change.
"I'm sorry we intruded. I'm sure you two had a good bond. I don't think he's all that gone, there's always a chance to save people as long as they're alive. The best way to start is remove his nightmare." He shrugged his shoulders, gesturing off in the direction of Ten's homeland. "We have to kill Cheon."
And, of course, in battle, it was hard to predict who'd land the final blow. "Hyung, I can't promise you his death but I hope you get your chance."
"We'll see." Yoongi bowed his head again. "I will let the men know that you are feeling better. They'll be very happy."
"I'm sure you can kill Cheon, Min Yoongi." Jin tried to be encouraging, he just wasn't sure quite how to do that. "You are really good at killing, everyone says so."
"Thank you." Well. He got the spirit, Yoongi supposed.
