"Shh. I'm here. It will get better soon..." Really, all Jin had to go on for that was Ten's word and he had no idea if he could trust that, but he had to. He helped Namjoon sit up and held the tea cup against his lips, carefully making him drink, having made sure it wasn't too hot. Namjoon was sweating a lot, he had to make sure he'd have enough fluids inside him. "You are fighting so bravely."
"I'm fine. Doesn't hurt." It did. He felt a pain he'd never experienced before and all he wanted to do was scream but he couldn't. It was weak and he had to be brave and strong. He sipped the tea as before he could, trying not to lose his mind in the pain. He didn't know what to do - he just wanted Yoongi to fix it. Always fixed it.
"You okay?" He had to make sure Jin was okay, even if he could barely keep it together himself. "No pain?"
"I'm not the one that got hurt, don't ask stupid questions!" Jin scolded him, then kissed his forehead immediately with slightly conflicting tenderness. "I only hurt for you. We are linked, right?"
That made sense, he supposed. It explained why it was so terrible to see him like this. He wished he had better words to use, but he wasn't a poet like Namjoon. He set the cup down once Namjoon had emptied it, making promises he didn't know were true again. "It will get better. Soon."
"Uh. Yeah. Linked." He liked him? Well. Cool. He smiled a dorky, feverish smile and tried to stop his hands from shaking. God, it hurt so badly, what the fuck had been in that snake? And he could have died from this? What a horrible way to go. That Ten kid was a literal demon child. "We're together. Forever. Marriage. So. Yeah."
Did Jin really love him? He wanted to ask but it seemed awkward. He had vague memories of him saying it but then, he was poisoned at the time.
Jin nodded, reaching down to take Namjoon's hand in his, his eyes filling with tears again. "I can't stand seeing you in pain like this!" It was awful. His heart broke for him and there was nothing he could do but watch him suffer. His fault, too. It was him Ten wanted revenge on, but it was his husband who was in pain.
"I'll never let you go to war, I need you to be safe." There, he had decided that. How could he deal with this? "I need you, I just found you, you can't leave me. You'll get better."
"... Jin, sweetie, I'm a warrior. I kind of have to go to war." Wasn't that why he married him? They had to get Cheon, that'd be a war and hell, a messy one too. He didn't exactly wish to die but what else could do he? "I'm sorry this upsets you so much." It upset Namjoon too but there wasn't much he could do. He didn't even wish anything bad on Ten, the kid was clearly broken.
"I'll be with Yoongi. Basically means I'm untouchable." He exhaled hard through the pain, biting down and gritting his teeth. Just a few more days. A few more days of pain and he'd be fine. "I have to fight for you."
"Can't Yoongi go for you? He'll be fine, he isn't even scared of all the damn snakes." Jin pressed his lips together, not usually one to curse, but... Well, there were too many damn snakes. He tightened his hold on Namjoon's hand, just to try and be with him more, wishing he could share this burden for real. "I don't want you to fight for me! I want you to live with me!"
"I need to defeat Cheon, we both know it. And my men will think I'm weak if I hide. I'm less likely to die than anyone, take solace in that." Namjoon didn't feel much like arguing right now but he knew what he had to do. Even when in this kind of pain, he squeezed Jin's hand and look into his eyes. "We can't let anyone else suffer because of him. I suffer because Ten suffered. And people will keep suffering. We have to do it."
Jin looked back, hating everything about the pain Namjoon was in, the pain he would be in. "I've made it your problem. You wouldn't suffer if it wasn't for me." He knew there was no going back for either of them, but that didn't keep the tears from rolling down his cheeks. Finding a strong warrior to protect his people and to save Ten and his country had been an easier thought before he had started to feel for Namjoon the way he did. "You are such a good man. I don't want to be your doom."
"You're not my doom. You give me purpose." Namjoon smiled, unable to believe he could make Jin feel like this. To make Jin love him. He reached out with a trembling hand to wipe his tears away. "It's okay. I'll be careful. Don't cry." He didn't like the idea of Jin hurting this much for him. "I'll be fine soon and then -- ah, then it'll be better. You'll see."
He felt dizzy and clamped his eyes shut, trying not to make a pained noise. "It's not your fault. It's not Ten's fault. I blame no one but Cheon."
"I blame him too. I'd... I'd kill him, if I could!" Which was saying a lot, coming from him. He glared darkly, then his face softened again when he heard Namjoon make a small noise of pain he was clearly trying to suppress. "Shh. Just rest. It will get better. I hope the tea will help you sleep. Please rest, my love."
"I'll rest. Just stay close by. I like your voice. My sweet prince." His eyes closed and he didn't rest, of course he didn't. He was in too much pain. Still, being able to relax his body was one giant step forward that he loved. It was enough for now.

Of course he was. "My warrior husband."
