"I see." Yoongi frowned, surprised at his own heart for hurting the way it did. He certainly hadn't expected to hear anything like this, but it wasn't as if he wasn't used to cruelty. There were differences though. This felt personal. And he knew why. Still, he schooled his face, hid his reaction. He would have been certain that no one could tell that he was quite disturbed, if this hadn't been Namjoon. No one knew him the way Namjoon did.
"What's the boy's name?" His voice sounded even. He hoped this wasn't Ten. He hoped that Ten was dead.
"The youngest boy. It was a weird name, uh, what was -- oh. Ten." That was the name. The tenth son. Now he remembered. He put his head in his hands and massaged his temples. "He and Jin were close, he loved the boy and the boy apparently begged Jin to save him or kill him. Jin just left. He didn't have much of an option."
Not in a situation like that. "Cheon said he'd do the same to Jimin if he gets here. We have to keep that from happening."
Yoongi bit down on his lower lip, turning his head to stare at the wall. He tightened his hands to fists, silently swearing revenge for Ten and to find a way to end his suffering, whether by freeing him or killing him. Whichever would be more merciful. But there would be no mercy for Cheon, that much was for sure.
"We should attack first. Destroy Cheon. We can protect the borders, sure, but the threat will be constant as long as someone like that lives right next to us."
"That was my thinking. I'll send word to my father. We'll storm that place, kill Cheon and bring his head back here as a token to Jin. If the boy is alive, I-- I don't think he would wish to live. Cheon sounds like a piece of work. He apparently let his men have him. That's a lot of people. A lot of pain."
He couldn't even imagine it but he's seen it in wars before. It was the only time Namjoon believed in killing, sometimes it was just a mercy. "We can't let that happen to Jimin."
"It wouldn't just be Jimin. He'd just be the one they leave alive. I've heard of Cheon. Trust me, him and his men would have your husband as well, before killing him." Yoongi wasn't sure why he felt the need to point that out, perhaps because he felt such a rawness inside himself ever since he'd heard of Ten's fate. He wanted to do something immediately. To fight. To avenge Ten and to maybe at least embrace him so he could have some comfort before he died.
He'd kill him in his arms if he had to, but he could not sit still knowing what he knew now. Yet he didn't really have a choice. "I'll go train. I've been slacking lately, focusing on your wedding. You'll make me a housewife."
"Okay, I'm going to sleep then try to train myself. We need to be ready. As soon as we have the army, we'll go in there." It bothered him too but he'd never seen Yoongi this upset over war. He knew it wasn't fair but that was how cruel men hunted in this world. Ten was an unlucky boy, that's all he knew.
