They worshipped the same Gods after all, even if they were more likely to fear than love snakes. They still respected him. "He got married recently. I felt the ceremony. Someone from the North, if I'm not mistaken."
It hadn't been something he put a lot of weight to until now, when Ten talked about him.
"Oh, very nice for him. To run off and get married, to find love when I was begging him for help? I was afraid and he did nothing! I kept thinking he'd come back but he was off, wedding himself away to some man from the north?!" Ten's anger came out and he yelled his words, wishing he could lash out but not daring to hurt his snakes. Medusa wrapped around his arm, she was almost telling him to watch his temper and he knew it.
"We played together as children, I gifted his brother a snake. We played in MY fields in MY kingdom and I thought they loved me." Clearly, they did not. "They left me with Cheon."
"That's very cruel of them," Hoseok agreed, thinking as he did so. He would give his beloved the revenge he clearly needed, he was willing to do whatever it would take, so he was thinking. "I will gift you a new snake, Ten." Using his actual name, something he generally only did when he wanted to ensure that he would listen closely.
"Men from the north are strong, you know that. They always have weapons. You are harder to hurt now, but not impossible. You can walk into the palace without being seen, I have made sure of that. But if he shared the bed with his husband..."
He trailed off, figuring that Ten would get what he was getting at. "The snake I'll give to you, she has a poison. It acts fast, but kills slowly. It paralyses immediately. If his husband is there and she bites him, he won't be able to move. Talk, maybe, if he has a lot of willpower, but I'm sure you can shut him up should you want to. I will give you the antidote, you can leave it with them if you want to. It's up to you. I don't care who you kill, not if it will make you feel better."
"You are so generous to me, my lord. I wish to meet her and praise her, she is a friend of mine now and I will love her. I promise." He wanted to hurt Jin and perhaps if he took away whatever pathetic love he had and reduced him to a weak mess then he could understand his fear and pain. He could understand how much it hurt when a loved one walked away.
