"Namjoon... Oh my God, is he the lanky guy with glasses? I spoke to him once. Heh. Namjoon is the leader. Woah. Good luck." He didn't think that'd go well at all. He giggled playfully as the blindfold came off and grinned up at his love. "They'll eat him alive, you know? You're really just going to throw him to the dogs like that? Tsk tsk."
Once his vision cleared up, he looked up at Yoongi and cocked his head to the side. "I can't believe I would have done it either... I think I just expected you to escape. And I was right. You did."
"You always expect me to handle everything, huh? It might not have worked. I wasn't so sure." Yoongi still remembered that uncertainty, the fear. Fear of dying, fear of surviving. Fear of having to kill Ten. "See, that's the issue. I already have you entirely too reliant on me, I'm not going to let this whole country do the same. Too much responsibility."
Namjoon could handle it. It wasn't as if he'd be alone. "I'm good at some things, but I'm no leader. Not unless I have no choice."
"Same." Ten smiled with almost a hint of mischievous pride. He was no leader and he had made that very clear. He had caused chaos, misery and started a rebellion against himself. And did he care much? Not any more. The burden was off his shoulders. He felt like he could live again and he didn't just have to be a king. Though power was fun, responsibility was not.
"I just wanted everyone to be nice to me. Why is life so hard?" With a pout, he leaned against Yoongi and kissed him lightly. "Why doesn't everyone just love me? It's so much easier."
"You are being ridiculous," Yoongi informed him, rolling his eyes, "I barely even know why I love you. It's an acquired taste, I'd say."
He reached for his knife and used it to cut through the fabric that connected Ten's feet and hands, then cut through what tied his ankles together too. "We will see if anyone tries to argue with me when I take you to my room."
He didn't imagine that anyone would. People were currently thinking of him as practically a saint and definitely a hero, which was part of why he wanted to remove himself from the equation as quickly as possible. "My friends don't like you much, but I guess that's mutual."
"Get less sucky friends and that won't be an issue." Ten suggested as he stretched his no longer bound arms and then reached out to touch his poor, ruined robes. Darn. They cost so much and they felt so nice. He was going to miss this outfit. "In future, can you harm my body and not my clothes? Thank you."
Slowly, he stood up and yeah, he felt kind of odd right now. This was his kingdom and yet, now it wasn't. He had no crown, no power, no future here. "... What do I do now? Show me."
"In future, your clothes are going to be worth a lot less." Yoongi looked at him for a few seconds, swallowing because of how attracted he really was to him like this. Then he shrugged out of his jacket and draped it over Ten's shoulders, smiling briefly. "Cross your hands in front. I'll have to have you tied up. And you'll say nothing. Let me handle things. Let me handle you."
"That's not fair. Why do I have to be a prisoner? If I submit willingly then I should be able to walk and talk?" Ten complained. He was not used to being the sort of boy who got told things or was made to do stuff he didn't want to. He was used to being coddled and told yes all the time. In fact, that was what he wanted right now. He wanted to be told he was allowed to act like he hadn't just been overthrown.
"Either you cross your hands in front of you and submit or I will tie your hands in the back and lead you around while you're gagged and blindfolded." Simple choice, Yoongi felt. "Believe me, I am very happy either way." Perhaps he even had a slight preference for the second option, but that was him thinking with his dick. And a little him considering the likelihood of Ten actually shutting the fuck up when he needed to.
"I don't know why you have to be so cruel all the damn time." He stuck his hands out and glared at Yoongi, clearly not about to actually shut up and behave because since when did he ever do that? He couldn't help himself. "Are you going to tell them we fucked? Like ever? Will you tell that Namjoon idiot? I mean, he must know. Right? I think everyone kind of knows. We have a vibe."
"I don't know if they know. Doubt it with some of them. Unsure with some others. Either way, it doesn't matter. They know that they needed me for all of this and I didn't lead them astray." Yoongi tied Ten's hands securely, then grabbed him by the arm and walked toward the door. "Also, Namjoon isn't an idiot."
Mostly. He pushed the door open, not surprised to see people standing there. None of them were that important though, so while he nodded at them, he didn't say anything directly to them. "I'll take my old room. Or did you burn that down?"
"I wrecked it quite a lot. Let's go to my room, it's way nicer. It's got the best sheets and the best mattress. Your mattress is really uncomfortable. It's just hay, I think. Who sleeps in hay? Urgh." Ten rolled his eyes and then tried to turn around and playfully kiss Yoongi because he didn't like feeling like a prisoner, it hurt his ego a lot. He liked being a lover, not -- whatever this was.
"There's also some nice rooms on the top floor. Take your pick. We can fuck anywhere."
"Uh-huh. I guess we can take your room. It's big." And it would make some sense, leader of the rebellion taking over the king's room. He avoided the kiss and shoved Ten away a little, still holding on to his arm and using that grip to tug him along. "I need to find Namjoon..."
He muttered it, more to himself than anything, but then he called out to the men. "Where's Namjoon? I need to talk to him. Or Jungkook, Jimin. Someone."
"Namjoon is outside handling the prisoners, I think Jimin is searching the rooms and I don't know where Jungkook is. Sorry."
"Searching for what? ... He better not disturb my snakes." Ten didn't like that idea. He didn't want people wondering around his home. How dare they, honestly. "Keep your men out of my room, would you? It's very disrespectful." He knew the guards were giving him a look but he couldn't help but be critical. This was his home.
"Shut the fuck up," Yoongi told him kindly, before dragging him along further and heading outside. He didn't much like the idea of outside, made his heart beat faster again, but he knew he would have to deal. He spotted Hoseok first, who gave him a nod, a smile and a wave, before looking at Ten and smiling a bit wider.
All right, so one of his friends might know. "Where's Namjoon?"
"He's talking over there." Hobi gestured vaguely, then called out. "Joonie?! Yoongi-hyung wants you."
"What?!" Namjoon turned and looked back before saying some final words to the men he was talking to and hurrying over to Yoongi, bowing to his hyung. "Yoongi-hyung, sorry for the delay. All the prisoners have been released."
"All of them? Some of them sucked, you know?" Ten just wanted to point that out. Yeah, they were all political prisoners but they were jerks too. One of them threw food at him so clearly he needed his head removed.
"Uh... what did you need, hyung?" Namjoon gave Ten a confused look, mostly wondering why Ten was still with Yoongi and not in a cell or something. Or dead.
"Less of an audience." He definitely needed that. The weight of everyone's attention on him was already getting on his nerves, making his heart race. He started walking, leading Ten along and hoping that Namjoon - and Hobi, apparently - would know to just follow.
"You didn't kill him," Hoseok pointed out.
Yoongi shrugged. "It wasn't necessary. I'll take care of him, his power is broken."
"I'll get someone to disperse the crowd. It's hard to get rid of them, they're excited. We're finally free." And that was a cause for celebration, people wanted to be a part of this moment but if Yoongi wanted them gone, he would try. He passed the message on to the guards as he walked by, rushing to catch up.
"Celebrating? People are so ungrateful." Ten looked back at Hobi and winked at him, cruel and mocking. "I'm too pretty to kill."
"They can celebrate, whatever. I don't mind, but I don't want to talk to you in front of everyone. Just... Give them food, or something. I bet there is loads, they always had too much." Yoongi breathed easier once they were inside and he felt fewer people were looking at him. He exchanged a look with Hobi, who just raised an eyebrow, then he focused on Namjoon again. "We have to talk."
"I figured we would have to talk. Shall we lock him away and have some alone time?" Namjoon was thinking they lock themselves in a room and discuss this privately away from the mocking former king and all the loud people. "I might be best to talk." Given everything that just happened between them.
Ten pouted and purposefully nudged at Yoongi to remind him that he existed and needed more attention and love. Did they not need to talk? How dare he be ditched?!
"Come with me." Yoongi ignored Ten, outside of tightening his grip on him as a warning, and then looked at Hobi. "Can you handle the celebration?"
With a bright smile, Hobi nodded. "I was born for that."
He walked off and Yoongi shrugged. "Go figure." To each their own. He started walking up the stairs, looking at Namjoon. "We can go to the royal bedchamber, it's entirely too big anyway, I'll deal with him and he won't hear us. Is everyone all right? Did anyone get hurt?"
"No, no one got hurt. There was a few fights with the royal guards initially but they gave in pretty quickly. It's not their fault they had to work for a tyrant. They were pretty happy to surrender." Namjoon explained as he climbed the stairs, unsure how he felt about Ten being near them. "Everything went without a hitch."
His royal guards surrenders and didn't even fight for him? Dear God. Ten hated his guards. What the hell? Where was the loyalty. He followed after Yoongi, pouting all over again and that pout turned to a glare when he learned of Yoongi's plans. He dug his heels in and made it harder for Yoongi to move him. "I'm here. I can hear you talking. Stop pretending I'm not here."
"I know you are here, but you aren't relevant. Don't you remember? You aren't king. You don't rule anyone. I've told you what you are. We've been over this." Yoongi gave him a jerk, not quite as violently as he could have. He knew that Ten would be pissed, but he couldn't risk being separated from him. Anyone could kill him. Anyone might. This was the only way he could trust that wouldn't happen. "I was a leader for the rebellion, Namjoon."
Yoongi opened the door to the bedchamber and walked inside, waiting for Namjoon to follow and pulling Ten along. "There's no rebellion any more."
"True, we just have to work out the next step. What comes next, you know?" Namjoon had no idea that he was going to become leader, he was very happy to listen to his hyungs and follow as he was told. Even if he was doing most of the work, he didn't see himself as an authority.
"He thinks you can be a ruler but you can't. You're pathetic. No one would follow you. You have all the charm of a diseased mutt." Ten sneered, jealous and stung by Yoongi's cruel words. He didn't want Namjoon to rule - he wanted to rule. He wanted to be treated nice and be taken care of like a king always was. Not this! "Your precious rebel leader is a coward."
Namjoon glared and put his hand on the hilt of his sword. "What is he talking about?"
"Shut the fuck up," Yoongi told Ten again, this time tightening his hold a lot more than previously, wanting it to be painful. He had to deal with this properly and Ten wasn't making it easy. He knew he had to talk to Namjoon about this slowly. He would understand, if only he had the time to get through to him. But, of course, Ten wouldn't give him that.
So he marched him over to the closet and opened it up, turned him around and pinned him to the still closed door, catching his eyes. "Are you going to submit or do I have to get cruel? You are a prisoner right now."
"I'm not your prisoner, I never will be. Don't you dare treat me like one!" Ten raised his voice, clearly not happy with being treated like shit. He was a king, he had royal blood. Who the fuck did this guy think he was, treating him like this. "You don't understand who you are provoking." A fallen king with no power but that wasn't going to stop him. He was determined to be a total pain until the bitter end.
"Are you sure you don't want to kill him...?" Namjoon was just saying. He trusted the judgement of Yoongi but at the same time, he really didn't see the appeal of keeping that spoilt brat around.
