"I'm waiting for some kind words. We were together for how long? And you just act like I'm nothing to you now. Years of doing right by you and you decided I wasn't playing nice. And now this? Ha! And you can't even muster up a nice word for me?" He didn't think he'd done anything bad. He just did what he was supposed to do. What his advisers told him to do. Hell, half of the time, he just let them handle everything because it was very stressful.
He was supposed to be the spoiled, happy youngest boy who'd never rule. Not this. Not ever this! He didn't want it.
"You will beg me. Even if it's just begging for death. I won't let you go that easily." He needed Yoongi to need him again.
"You haven't been sleeping well." It was obvious, at least to him. Maybe someone who didn't know Ten as well as he did wouldn't have been able to tell it as easily. "Why's that?"
Of course he felt sorry for him, but having sympathy with Ten didn't stop his people from suffering. Yoongi didn't regret the path he'd chosen, not for a moment, but that didn't mean that he had stopped caring about Ten. He doubted that he could get Ten to understand it, so there seemed little reason to bother.
"Fuck you. I don't miss you. I never would. I don't need you. You need me, you idiot. All of you do. What would you do without me?" Rolling his eyes, Ten pulled his leg away from Yoongi's head and then turned, slamming his foot into Yoongi's stomach before smirking proudly down at him. "You think you're going to win this but you won't. Everyone who died, they die because of you. It's all your fault. Who's the real monster?"
At least he didn't lead poor innocent people into battle. He had well trained soldiers. Or whatever. He was pretty sure they were well trained. And very, very, VERY loyal.
"I'm going to cut your head off as my trophy." He grinned and then giggled playfully. "They'll know to behave then."
Yoongi coughed, groaning after the kick. He felt the urge to curl up and protect himself, but instead he stayed lying on his back. He'd be in pain either way, so why bother? He could handle pain. He did think he deserved it to some degree. Ten wasn't wrong, people had suffered because of him.
"If you keep cutting off everyone's head, you'll end up a great king of headless corpses." Did he really not see that? "How long do you think you'll be happy staring at my head?"
"Longer than I've been happy lately. For me, it seems like a win-win honestly." He would stop the rebellion and get more Yoongi than he'd had in a long time. He was pretty excited, actually. Sure, heads were icky and all but he could talk to him again! He could tell him everything and hold him in his arms, even if he was a dead head with no real hugging ability. He was pretty desperate for love these days - he'd take it.
"I'm killing you in three hours, just so you know. I just called in my executioner. It's happening. Anything you want to say to me before then?" He sighed wearily. "Make it nice."
Three hours? Yoongi tried to decide how he felt about that. It was hard to really process, he supposed. So he just nodded his head and looked at Ten, licking his lip and tasting blood. That seemed about right. He wished he could hold Ten and assure him that everything would be all right, but naturally that was an absurd desire to have.
"I miss you a lot," he finally admitted outright, "It keeps me awake."
"Aww, shame. You know what would have helped with that? Not leading a rebellion against me! Or, better yet, not leaving. You're the one who left. Missing me is what you deserve!" Huffing angrily, Ten turned away from Yoongi and buried down any sadness he had in him because he didn't want Yoongi to pity him. It was humiliating. He was the king.
He shouldn't be treated as pity and just a thing to say before death! He should have said it when he was alive, days after he left. "I know the names of your friends. I'll kill them all. Namjoon, Hoseok, Jimin... oh and Jungkook? Tsk. Involving people so young." He shook his head, knowing he was provoking but he had to. "They'll die for you."
"Will that make you happy?" He doubted it. Of course his own heart was breaking just at the idea and he would do whatever he could to prevent such a thing from happening, but he didn't focus on that right now. He focused on the man standing in front of him, above him. That lonely, troubled man, who didn't know himself all that well and whom he knew all too well. The man he loved, really. He wondered if Ten would ever be able to believe that.
"Will you kill them because they are against you or because they were with me? Because they had me when you hadn't?"
"I kill all traitors and you know that. You knew that when you started this. You started this. You wanted it to end this way." Yoongi left him to make a dumb point and he clearly wanted that point to rip open his head. So fuck him! Fuck him and fuck everything be wanted to do. "You left ME. You started this! You left me for them and I-I still don't know why you prefer them to me but you do!"
Those dumb, smelly peasants were worth more than him. The king. He was the one who should matter the most. "I'm more important! Me! Not them. Don't you get that? What I'm doing is for the best of the country."
"We are just the players, Ten. Neither of us is that important." Yoongi didn't expect that to make a lot of sense to Ten, so he sighed and stared at the ceiling, wishing he could hold him in his arms. If he had any personal goal in all of this, it was that, and he knew how unlikely he was to reach it. Hold Ten in his arms again, without feeling conflicted. "You are important for the part you play. Same with me. And you, as a person, are important to me. But, really? We are just doing this. If it wasn't me, it'd be someone else. If it wasn't you, there'd be another tyrant."
"Blah, blah, blah. I really don't care. I don't care about this stuff. I just want everyone to stop being jerks to me!" He didn't care about players and games and all that bullshit. He was just mad that this was happening to him when he had done nothing but serve and work for these stupid people since he started. It was hard to make the decisions and have it all be his call only. "It's hard to be sad, I don't like it. Hurting makes me happier."
He walked over to the table where all the torture instruments were and he picked up a knife, opening it out with a crazed smile. "I was merciful once, I won't be again. Ever." He let Yoongi leave when he shouldn't have. Now he had to punish him and remind everyone of loyalty. "You're mine."
"I left you," Yoongi pointed out, since maybe he hadn't dragged their emotions around enough yet. It hurt worse than any torture, not that he didn't watch Ten right now with a lot of apprehension. It was one thing to be tortured by some nameless henchman, he didn't want to be hurt by Ten instead. "I'm not yours anymore. You are just angry because you know you can't make me yours. Like my head is going to satisfy you."
"I can make you mine. You will be mine. Forever and ever. Even when you're dead, I'll have your remains. No one else will be able to get near or touch them." Joyously, he rolled Yoongi onto his back and sat on his legs, rolling up his shirt to look at the pale skin of his back. "You will always belong to me. You, them, everyone. I rule this country, it's mine. So is everything here. Mine, mine, mine."
He smirked and then lowered the knife, crudely cutting a T into his back as best he could. "You're mine."
"Great. Are you going to cuddle my corpse? How sane of you." Yoongi might have said more, but he was too busy gritting his teeth and hissing, not wanting to give in and scream in pain. The concept of being marked by Ten bothered him less than it should, but that didn't make the physical action hurt any less.
He turned his head to the side, breathing heavily. "Fuck."
"I won't cuddle your corpse but I will keep it until it's gross, you know? I don't want to be weird about it." Ten mumbled as he slowly finished his markings and sat back, licking the blood off the blade merrily. He had crudely written his name, awkwardly carved into Yoongi's back, leaving a very clear mark of ownership.
"T E N. Ten." He traced his fingers under the name and giggled playfully. "I should have done this sooner."
"Yes. Sure. All my many other lovers would have been so confused." Yoongi rolled his eyes. Still being childish, giggling and playing. Ten was winning his game, at least inside his mind. He supposed that was at least something he could give him, some triumph. One way or another, Yoongi feared what fate had in store for his king. He still wished to protect him, but he doubted his ability to do so. For the greater good. "Are you done yet?"
"Yeah, I guess so." Ten sighed and cleaned the knife on Yoongi's shirt before lazily tossing it on the table. It bounced off the surface and fell to the back but he didn't pay any attention. Instead, he got to his feet and stretched lazily before looking down at Yoongi and enjoying him like this. Submitting to him. It felt nice.
"Enjoy your last few hours. Your execution will be a delight." He was hurting, deeply trouble at the idea of killing Yoongi but if he didn't, he'd never get him. No, he stood no chance with him but this way, he'd get to keep pieces of him. And no one else could ever have him. "See you soon."

It would have made him more satisfied at least.
