"Oh. His ex, seriously?" That made no sense and Jin kept his voice down. "He's with the Jung family, that's... Wait. You mean he was dating him while he was Suga?" What a mess that was and he didn't even know the details yet. "Oh boy." That did explain the mood Yoongi seemed to be in. He reached for Namjoon's hand, giving it a squeeze. "Sorry you have to deal with that."
"I have to work, but I can move it to later if you got the time. Always nice when you're in the mood." Cheon didn't mind going for it when Jimin wasn't in the mood yet, he could talk him into it, but he wasn't about to complain about him being eager. "We should get going, huh? Is that why you wanted to leave? You should have said."
"It's a whole Suga issue, you know what they're like." Yoongi yearned for a different life, he just didn't have an option otherwise. He held Jin's hand and watched as Cheon and Jimin got up. Oh, thank God. "Freedom." Namjoon laughed a little and leaned over, kissing Jin's cheek quickly. "Hopefully they tipped well."
Jimin got up and pulled on his coat, smiling the best he could and trying to look more eager than he was. Maybe a quick fuck and he could go to bed. "I didn't want to embarrass myself and I did anyway. I'm an idiot." He smiled and held out his hand for Cheon, wanting some pathetic form of comfort right now, even if it was just holding hands. "I'll make it all right again."
Jin smiled and let go of Namjoon's hand. "I'll see you tonight." Just holding him to that promise, even if it was likely to mean getting woken up around midnight, especially with him and Yoongi running behind. He knew he should be glad that Namjoon didn't have to be like Yoongi, instead he could just kiss him and smile at him and still be his cute self, but he'd still rather he had a different job. Whatever. He couldn't really complain, as long as Namjoon stayed careful.
Yoongi glanced over his shoulder for just a moment, in time to see Cheon get a hold of Jimin's hand. It was easier before seeing that, then it had been possible to just think of Jimin as someone from the past, someone he had lost and couldn't get close to any more. He didn't like the dose of reality.
"I know you will." Cheon had a tight grip on Jimin's hand and held it as they headed for the door, in a much better mood now. "You are always a good boy."
"I will try to be!" Jimin still smiled, still didn't look back, his heart breaking all over again. Suga was always there, in his fantasies, his dreams, the one thing he would think of it someone told him he could have anything in the world. He wanted to go back and see him, to throw his arms around Suga and hide against him, to get him to undo all his mistakes and just go back to when it was easy.
His happy place would always be in that crappy little apartment, eating cup noodles and talking to Suga. He wanted those days back.
As they left, a relief washed over the room and Namjoon smiled at Jin, walking the long way around so he could toss some extra tip money on Cheon's table. They deserved it.
Yoongi knew he had no more time to waste, so he just got up and allowed for enough time that they wouldn't risk running into them outside, taking the time to text his driver so he would bring his car around. He didn't say anything to Namjoon, just focused on keeping his face blank as he walked outside and got into the car. Only when Namjoon was inside and the door had closed did he lean forward, bury his face in his hands and allowed himself to cry. He only had a few minutes to break down, he knew that.
