"Oh man, seriously? That's a big deal." Woah, a shoot out at a Min Family club? So what? If the boss was gone, did that mean that they had no rivals? Woah. Jimin smiled a little, unable to help himself. That was pretty damn cool. "So we'll be in charge entirely? Hobi-hyung must be so happy."
Well, he wasn't quite leader yet but, well, he stood to gain a lot. Him and his father. All of them did, really. Jimin gave Tae an amused look. "Do we know any details at all or just hearsay?"
"It's all hearsay so far. None of our people can risk going there, they'd all be antsy." But Tae really, really wanted to go there. "It must have been so cool, everyone says that their boss is the best shot ever." Most bosses tended to have a lot of stories to go with their names, but whatever. Tae liked the mystique. "If we can hit at the right time, we could take over. If the boss is really dead. I don't know, that's what everyone's talking about. Hobi's kinda tense about it, I guess we don't know anything concrete so far."
Tae bounced a little, wrapping his arms around Jimin. Screw dignity. "But I heard it was all headshot kills." That's what he had heard, about the situation no one knew anything about.
"Does he not have an heir? I heard talk of that a while back but he disappeared, didn't he?" It was something like that. He was either missing or dead, he only had one son so it was unlikely he had anyone to compete with. "As great as this is, they may have prepped someone to take over. What if he's worse? He could be dangerous, maybe that's why Hobi is worried."
Wrapping an arm around Tae, he walked along with him, pulling out his phone to send a quick text to Suga. Just to tell him he loved him. He was busy right now but that didn't mean he couldn't send love.
"Yeah, Min Yoongi is his heir. He's supposed to be pretty ruthless, but no one knows anything about him these days, so maybe he ran off or got killed. I know Hobi doesn't like him. Not sure what the story here is, but I hear that in the Min Clan they keep the heir secluded from people and they get trained to basically be like ninja, only with guns." The things Tae had heard could fill a book and he happily shared. "They get taught not to show any emotion and to kill, like, I heard that Min Yoongi killed someone when he was three years old. Or four! Just old enough to hold a knife."
It made for a good story, he liked the visual of the creepy child with blood all over him. "But no one's heard any word of him in a while, so my guess is that he ran off. Probably got a better offer to be a killer for the government. Assassinate presidents."
"That sounds like bullshit, Tae. Stop being so gullible. No four year old would do that and who'd even ask it? They just spread stuff like that to make their leader sound scary and badass. It's what cowards do, I guess." He was sure that they got trained and it was harsh but not nearly as crazy as it sounded. That was just too unreal.
"I think he probably got bored of his life and ran off... or he got shot. In this line of work, Tae, when people disappear? They got shot." That was generally how it went. "I bet he's dead. It's kind of sad, really. Must have been young."
"He's Hobi's age, I think. Few months older?" Tae shrugged, not finding the facts nearly as interesting as the theories. "I just wanna know who died in the shoot-out."
The Min Clan did have a scary vibe and reputation surrounding them, which did appeal to Tae in a certain way, he was fascinated, but obviously he was rooting for them here. He opened the door to Hobi's office and Hobi waved them in, even though he was on the phone, apparently talking to someone who was trying to ID at least one of the corpses.
Tae took Jimin's hand and gave it a squeeze, smiling brightly. "This is gonna be big."
Jimin's phone vibrated, but what else was new? Tae ignored it.
"Oh shit, this is crazy." Jimin had no idea what to make of any of this. He watched Hobi talking away and then felt his phone vibrate. He turned away from them both, just to be polite, looking down at the phone and frowning. What the hell kind of message was that?
i do remember why do you sound like you're dying? are you okay, sweetie?
He didn't want to have to worry too much but it seemed like odd wording. He turned his head back and tried to listen in on what Hobi was saying. "Any clue yet, Tae?"
yeah sry, im fine namjoon got roughed up a bit, im just thinking
"Don't know. He keeps turning away, so either there is a man who looks like the Min leader at the morgue or it was something about an orc." All in all, hard to tell. Could go either way. Tae frowned, looking at Hobi expectantly when he finally ended the call and looked at his screen.
"That's definitely him. Clean shot." Hobi was frowning, stepping forward to show the picture of the body to both Tae and Jimin. "Don't tell anyone yet. We still aren't sure what went down."
oh no, should i come over? i hope you're okay <3 miss u
Looking up from his phone, Jimin came to stand by Tae and watched as Hobi revealed the picture. Oh. Yep. That definitely was a dead body. He looked away and pulled a face, he never liked the dirty side of this thing. "That does look like him... is that it then? If he's down, that's the clan gone. Right?"
That was what he'd always heard. "Especially since the heir left."
miss u too im not hurt and namjoon will be fine id love to see you, but i got work, sry
"Doubt it. I think Min Yoongi was at the scene. We've only got some access to blurry camera footage so far, but I think I recognise him. Bleached his hair, I guess?" Hobi shrugged his shoulders, looking at the picture on his phone again. "If Min Yoongi is alive, the whole clan might fall in line with him. He's the heir. But he's young, he's been away, they have a whole thing about earning your place? So there might be some in-fighting."
Hobi chewed on his bottom lip thoughtfully. "Min Yoongi was always an annoying brat. Zero respect for anyone. And he liked planning ahead. Might have a plan on how to secure the power, so we are hoping to get in before he can do that."
"Ohh, do they do a knife fight for who gets to be boss? Like, one where they are tied together?" Tae was just curious.
"I'll tie you together for a knife fight." Hobi rolled his eyes. "Look, they have all sorts of stories, most of it is bullshit. It's all about the rep."
okay but text me later, yeah i love you and i wanna see you soon gonna give you suuuuuch a big hug!!! <3
A little crushed that Yoongi didn't have time for him again, he focused more on that than what Hobi was saying. He got the gist. The son was alive, he was probably there and he as a brat with no respect. Than again, Hobi said that about everyone. Everyone deserved to be punished in his books.
He put his phone in his pocket and crossed his arms, trying to focus on business over everything else that was on his mind. "So if he secures power, he's the new rival? Will we know soon or will it be a while before the news gets out?"
"They have to make a definite move soon. Show stability and power, everyone's going to be looking for some weakness." Like they certainly were. But it was risky, Hobi didn't want to lose men in a move that he might end up regretting.
"My guess would be that he'd contact the big bosses. So, my dad, some of the others. Then he has to somehow show that he's worthy of taking over, to his own people and to us." It was a tall order. Which was a thought that actually made him smile. "I think he's about Jimin's height, so really, I'm not that worried."
Obviously this wasn't a matter of size, but Hobi couldn't resist the tease.
"Huh. I wonder how you could even do that. It's really just showing cock measuring, isn't it?" Tae found it fascinating. Their side of things was mostly just run like a business, this was different in a number of ways. "I'm excited, hyung."
"Hey! Size isn't everything. I bet he's scary. People my size can be scary!" Jimin pouted and gave Hobi an annoyed look, walking across the room to pull himself onto a table and sit down, trying to focus on business but he just wanted to see Suga. He was worried about him, he didn't know if he'd be okay or not. Should he go by to his place and see him? Maybe he could try to find Namjoon and ask him? He seemed nice enough.
"I hope it's an easy take over for us. I don't like when it gets too messy." Longer shifts, more violence and Hobi tended to have a mean temper whenever things went badly. Hopefully it'd all just work out.
Maybe the Yoongi guy would just leave them in peace? "What do we have to do in the mean time?"
"Just stay close by. I might need you both if we make a move, whatever the move is." Hobi looked at his phone when it vibrated, then suddenly frowned. Huh. He read something on the screen and Tae's eyes widened, because this looked exciting.
"...I just got a text from Min Yoongi. Apparently it went to a couple of people and I've no idea how he got that number. Or any of those." This wasn't exactly usual procedure. But it was a power move, he could recognise that. "He must have someone who's good with technology..."
"What's it say? What's it say?" Tae was all but bouncing in his seat.
"He's invited people, for tonight. To the club where the shootout happened." Hobi's brows were furrowed. "He's still such a little shit."
"Oh woah. We're going to a club someone died in? Oh. Goodie. You always take us such pretty places, hyung." Jimin was teasing, of course. He was actually kind of excited and hey, maybe it'd take his mind off worrying about Suga all the time. "What do we wear to that kind of occasion?" Was it technically a wake or what?
Sliding off the table, he wandered over to Tae and wrapped an arm around him in a playful half hug. "I assume we're going to go?"
"Of course you're going." Hobi sent a message back after quite a bit of deliberating. "It's dress to impress. And armed. In Tae's case, anyway." Well, he knew Jimin wasn't the most comfortable with weapons. "We might have to hand the weapons in on the way, but don't worry. It'll be fine."
He was hoping. Honestly, who even knew? "I don't trust Min Yoongi. So I'll be careful and we'll be fine."
Tae grinned, wrapping both arms around Jimin. "Ohh, Jimin, you should help me do my hair right. I'll help you!" This was going to be great fun.
Dressing up for a murder? Always fun times. He grinned at Tae and ruffled his hair, feeling his phone buzz in his pants. He pulled out his phone and looked at his messages, beaming at the text he saw on the screen. Love? Yes! He wanted that. He was hoping Suga would say it.
i mean it as well i love you so much i can't wait to see you <3
"Today has been a lot of fun." Jimin grinned at both guys in the room before yanking on Tae's shirt. "Come on, let's prepare and get some work done at the same time. We have a lot to do."
