"He took my shoes!" Which, Yejoon knew, wasn't really the pressing concern right now, he just fixated on it. He was trembling a little, all that tension having built up and now here he stood, feeling like an idiot. He wasn't some weak victim, but what was he supposed to do against a man who was built like that? "He wanted to know what we were here for and he had a knife and he said we are bad and he took my shoes!"

He couldn't stop himself from talking, shaking his head. "I don't like this, I don't like it at all."

"It's okay, it's okay. We knew we'd get resistance but we're going to make first contact soon and smooth it over. Just breathe." He was really hoping that they wouldn't be like that, that they wouldn't actually attack because otherwise, they might be in some danger. And Gyungho didn't want to hurt anyone, not really. "I'll piggy back you to camp, get on."

He crouched forward so Yejoon could get up his back. "You're braver than me, Yejoon. I would have screamed bloody murder."

Yejoon got on Gyungho's back, really wanting to feel safe, but now he felt like some more half naked men could attack at any moment and, since it was real, he couldn't even consider that a fun fantasy. "I wanted to scream, I just couldn't, I was too scared. And he had a knife."

And some other things that looked pretty dangerous. Yejoon was in pretty good shape, but that didn't even compare to the muscle on this guy. "Are they dangerous here? I thought they were supposed to be peaceful tribes."

"They are but even peaceful people would react to a threat. They don't know we're here yet, we should have introduced ourselves first... they'd going to get the wrong idea. I'll tell Cheon to hurry and introduce himself before things get worse." He stabilised Yejoon and carried him along merrily, trying to move fast so they didn't run into anyone else. "As long as we don't upset them, they'll come to accept us."

Hopefully. Maybe. "They're primitive so don't take it personally. It's like meeting a dog, they always start off suspicious."

"He thought my shoes were weapons. Why would they be weapons?" It didn't even make sense. "He seems dumb." Primitive, sure, but hey. There could be primitive dumbasses and primitive geniuses. Of course he would meet the former. "He has those markings all over, are they like tattoos? That can't be hygienic, however they apply those."

Why that was the first thought that popped into his mind, he didn't know.

"Maybe but he was smart enough to ask all the right questions and not actually kill so maybe he's got something to him." Not that he thought he was a genius by any means cause he did just rob off with some shoes so, you know, not exactly a genius, was he? With a smile, he adjusted Yejoon on his back. "And yeah, I saw them. They're incredible. I wonder how they do them and what they mean. I need pictures."

If only he had his camera. "I can smell smoke, we're near camp."

"He looked impressive, I guess. Apart from the pair of shoes around his shoulders." That looked more dumb than anything. But the tattoos had been fascinating. "He had some kind of big cat on his chest, I saw that."

It had all happened too fast and he had had other worries at the time, but he had noticed that much. "I wonder why he took my shoes off, what he was thinking. Whatever. Guess I'm lucky he didn't cut my throat. Do you think I did it all right?" Was Jaebum going to be upset?

"You did good. Don't worry about it."

As they came into camp, Gyungho slowed him approach and stopped to help Yejoon off his back, steadying the other as they carefully walked through the camp and towards the tent their boss had. Peering in, Gyungho cleared his throat. "Cheon-hyung? We had an incident. A wild tribe member attacked Yejoon."

"What?" Jaebum shot up and hurried out, coming to look at Yejoon and make sure he wasn't too hurt. "You okay? What happened?"

"Just... He took my shoes." Yes, that sounded even more awkward than he'd have thought, but whatever. It had happened. He reached for his throat, feeling it. "He had a knife, but I don't think he cut me." Really, mostly he had escaped unharmed. Unharmed and terrified. He looked down himself, tightening his hands to fists. He didn't want to see them tremble.

"What did he look like?" Cheon addressed Gyungho, that seemed easier. "And he just retreated, yeah?"

"Big, muscled, tattoos with a scary glare. Kinda short though. He didn't just run, he made a weird call and went off in another direction. It seemed like he was doing something. He probably intends to warn the others." Which was bad cause they'd get the wrong impression. "We don't want them to fear us so we should go and meet them soon. Quick as we can."

"He threatened Yejoon-ah, we should gut him. They should fear us." Jaebum muttered as he stroked Yejoon's face gently. "Poor boy, must have been traumatic. We'll get you some new shoes, yeah?"

"I don't know, if all he did was meet Yejoon, how scary can he think we are? He'll just think we are a bunch of pansies." Cheon snorted, not that concerned, but since Gyungho was here to advise them, he gave him a chance anyway. "How do you suggest we make contact? Just send Yejoon out wandering alone again?"

Yejoon glared at Cheon, much more ready to lean into Jaebum's touch. He liked the protectiveness, he couldn't help it. "He thought my shoes were weapons? I don't know why. And I told him we are just here to learn.

"Don't call him a pansy, you'll hurt his pride. Yejoon is very manly." Jaebum didn't think he was, at all. He called him a pussy all the time to Cheon but he liked to play and give him fake ego boosts. He felt being mean all the time got him nothing. He couldn't get away with punching and slapping the bitch if he wasn't also good to him, after all. "He sounds like an idiot but a dangerous idiot."

"Look, we should just go out and try to find the camp. There's two of them so ... we just need to work out which was that one's tribe." God, this was tricky. "I think he ran north so we could go true north and see what happens?"

"Fair enough, who do we send? We should just conceal our weapons. I'll bring my gun." Cheon had already decided that he was going. Potentially violent situation? He was there. "You should come too, Gyungho. We might need a smartass."

Turning his attention to Yejoon, he remembered something. "Did you see any jewellery on the guy? Anything?" He wanted to know whether there were those gem stone reserves that were rumoured, but even if they were, a warrior might not wear any. Seemed pretty obvious. Still, worth a try.

Yejoon shook his head. "No. He just had a lot of tattoos. No shirt." His face felt a little hot. "Very muscular."

"I'll come. You're right, you need someone with some intelligence." Gyungho teased back. Cheon was a thug and an asshole but he didn't mind him. In his own way. He supposed he was used to these idiots, he had been planning to do this with them for months now. He got paid well, he might make some great discoveries and besides, it was beautiful here. "Don't get trigger happy though."

Jaebum rolled his eyes and gave Yejoon a look. "You sure you're upset and not just horny? The way you talk about him, it seems like you're into it?" He leaned in, lowering his voice. "I knew you liked pain." And he said he didn't. Little liar.

Pulling away, he gave Cheon a look. "I'll stay here with the others. Someone has to protect base camp."

"What?" Yejoon looked at Jaebum, obviously offended. "I'm not into him, I'm just describing what he looked like. It's not my fault he was good-looking and half-naked. They probably don't wear a lot of sweaters here."

He could understand that. It was pretty hot. He huffed and Cheon just raised his eyebrows, then nodded at Jaebum.

"I'll go with the egghead. I'll bring flares, just in case, so keep an eye on the sky."

"I'll stay with horny boy." Jaebum smirked and then shook his head, slapping Yejoon hard on the ass. "Stop getting so worked up, I'm teasing. You always get so worked up over every joke."

Gyungho rolled his eyes, wishing he didn't have to leave Yejoon alone with the assholes. "See you later, Joon-ah. Maybe sit with your brother for a few, he's near the beach." So, hopefully, Jungkook could watch out for him. He didn't trust Jaebum.

Turning to Cheon, Gyungho sighed. "You ready?"

"I'm always ready," Cheon smirked, glancing at Jaebum before already heading off the right way, waiting for Gyungho to keep up with him. "North, right?" Shouldn't be that far. "Yejoon's being prissy again, bet he'll give him a good fucking to shut him up."

Seemed to be what was needed. "They can speak here, right? Not all weird." To Cheon, not knowing Korean equalled not knowing anything.

"He's not being prissy, he's just a bit shaken and scared. He was pretty traumatised." He didn't think Yejoon needed a good fuck, he thought Yejoon needed a nap and some comfort. Too bad he was with a load of dicks. Hopefully someone would tell his little brother so he'd have some comfort at least.

"They speak Korean but a little off, the grammar is tweaked but I could understand what he was saying to Yejoon." Well, not all of them did, he supposed. "Rumour has it that one tribe speaks Korea and the other is more Thai in language so I dunno if they know Korea or not."

"Ohh, I love Thai. Their boys are basically girls. And slutty girls at that." Cheon was very welcoming to other cultures, he'd always felt that. Cheon followed the closest thing he could find to a path. This place could really use a good road system. Whatever, they would get there. "What else do you know about them? Are the two tribes fighting? We befriend one, the other is our enemy, that kind of thing?"

"They are not. They're just Thai. They're hot though but I think most people are so I suppose I can't judge." Jaebum always called him 'slutty' cause he was bi. He didn't think he was, he was just open... and blissfully not racist like Cheon. "I don't know entirely, I only recently started to study them but from the last account I read, they were at war and the only neutral ground was where the prophet is. Each generation, a new prophet from either tribe is sired and where he is, no fighting is allowed."

"Huh. Prophets. That's like a fortune teller, right?" Cheon nodded, he could understand that. A lot of people believed in fortune tellers and he supposed some might actually be able to do it, why not someone who was out in the backwoods like this? "So... Do you think we are headed toward where they live or toward that prophet?" He was ready either way.

"Hey, if I hurt that prophet, you don't think I'd get cursed or anything, right?"

"Kinda. And yeah, you'd get cursed." He didn't want the prophet dead so he was just going to say that and hope it works. "They say if you kill a prophet, you get a skin disease that rots your penis and it falls off." There. That should seal that one. "I wouldn't risk it if I was you."

With his hands in his pockets, he paused and considered his options. "I think probably we're heading to the prophet so we should decide who we plan to approach first after that. Do we want to greet and befriend the Thai or the Koreans?"

"I mean, we can probably talk better with the Koreans, so that'd make sense." Although he did like Thai people. "Maybe meeting the prophet will help us decide. Hope he speaks Korean."

Cheon looked around, then frowned when he spotted red colour smeared onto a tree. He put a hand on Gyungho's shoulder and pointed it out. "Might be a sign? Is it blood?"

He moved closer, sniffed. "I think it's paint of some kind. Wonder what it means."

"Could be mark, could be a pathway-- Oh, there's blue there." The tree to the left had a similar smear so he touched it and felt the paint crack between his fingers. "Let's just follow the paint and see where it takes us, yeah?" Gyungho moved along, leading the way as he stopped to check where paint was splattered, truly fascinated.

"It's amazing, they make their own paints and they can tattoo. Isn't that fascinating? They're very artistic." Gyungho thought it was amazing. He grinned and turned to Cheon. "It's their own culture."

"If I was stuck on some backwards island without proper entertainment, I'd make paints too." Cheon muttered it, looking around. The colours were interesting, quite vibrant. He kept following the path laid out and as they reached the top of the hill, he looked down and was silent for a moment. That was an impressive sight, even he had to admit that. "Big tree."

It was. A big tree in the middle of a small, round clearing, looking more man-made than anything else so far. The tree's leaves were hanging down to the ground, but there were strange fruit growing from its branches as well. Or something. Different coloured, some looked like pieces of fabric, more and less faded. Some might be pieces of wood or... bone?

"Creepy place."
