"Don't be a quitter. My parents always want me to show commitment. When you think about it, isn't addiction just the ultimate form of commitment?" Minjun took a cigarette and lit it for himself, taking a drag before exhaling and looking up at the sky. He was right, it was going to rain. "Addiction and obsession. People just never like when things get too intense."
"You use a lot of big words." Well, big by his lazy standards, admittedly. He hmmed a little and then gave Minjun a teasing look. "I like how you think though so whatever. I don't think I'll ever quit anything except maybe school. It's killing me. Inside and out." He didn't do well at school, he never had. He used to always walk home from school whenever he felt like it, even as a young child. He just wanted to be at home, in his mother's arms, not stuck at school. Some things, admittedly, hadn't changed. "Today was too much. Too many thoughts and words. Can't wait to puff 'em all away."
"I read too much." Not the cool slacker's way of playing down his vocabulary, but whatever. He could go for that, he wasn't an insecure idiot any more. He was trying not to be, anyway. "But you're a class above me, hyung, right? You should be done with school soon anyway, then you don't have to bother any more."
Although he supposed he might be failing. Well... Awkward. He could get the sentiments he expressed earlier a bit better now. "I just think more when I get high. Don't you?"
"I'm not gonna... whatever." He wasn't going to be able to graduated, not since he walked out of his tests last semester. His parents were horrendously disappointed and pissed off at him but he couldn't do it, he just didn't give enough of a shit to try. He knew he'd regret it but he couldn't get past the roadblock. "You read though, huh? Cool. English or Korean? I mostly read mangas and comics."
Not as smart or cool but he liked it enough. "I think more and less, if that makes sense, like I think a lot but it's easier. That's why I like it."
"English and Korean. Kinda depends on what, I go for the original language when I can?" Minjun figured that was mostly due to his parents' efforts not to let him lose touch with his Korean, but it worked out well, now that he was back here, so he wasn't complaining.
"I like manga and comics too. DC, mostly. I got Wonder Woman jammies." And he would not be shamed for them. "But I get what you mean. More and less. Easier. Guess that's it. Though sometimes I just start crying."
"Any crying is manly crying if it's done by a man." Wise words indeed. "I just get that with booze more than weed but some shit changes how you feel. I've gone from fighting to bawling to laughing my ass off in the space of twenty minutes." He didn't judge, he couldn't really judge - when you were as much of a fuck up as he was, standards kind of changed. He didn't judge a lot about anyone, what was the point?
If he was one of the lowest, how much worse could others be?
"Also, for the record, I got Batman jammies and they're awesome."
"That makes sense." Well, he had only just met the guy, but Batman and Wonder Woman seemed to kind of work for them right now. In a way, anyway. He had the whole strange angst thing down, if only Batman had become a stoner instead of a vigilante. Strange thoughts indeed.
"I always get into fights when I'm on something, you'd think I'd learn how to run in time. I never win."
"I can't run when I smoke like this. I just dance away. If I dance, they get confused and usually leave me alone. You'd be surprised how often it works." Rushing ahead of Minjun, he suddenly started to do a strange sort of dance walk in front of him, gesturing his arms a bit wildly as he talked. "So, like, yeah... I mean, would you pick a fight with this?"
And then he aggressively started to do the robot.
"Cause I would fucking run the other way." And then he shook his booty.
"Y'know, I'd like to say I wouldn't, but I pick fights with actual bouncers all the time, so I wouldn't underestimate my stupidity." One should think that some dancing weirdo twice his size would discourage him, but Minjun knew himself better by now. He laughed and shook his head, pressing his lips together as he tried to do a few dance moves of his own, to similar stupid results.
"I dunno, I've never done it." Not to say he didn't score or get laid but he found dating a clusterfuck so he avoided it. Anything hard, complicated and having a long term impact on his life? He avoided it. Hardcore. It was his coping method. "High pressure, lots of expectations, gotta be careful with who you pick and why or something. I don't even know. I just kiss people and see what happens."
He winked suggestively as he moonwalked down the street, accidentally bumping into some guy. "Can't you see I'm dancing here? Jeez, move!" Rolling his eyes, he kept on moving, focusing back on Minjun. "At clubs, it's easier to find a fuck than a true love, fyi."
"Yeah, I... No love. Let's not fall in love." Just seemed like a smarter move overall. Minjun didn't even want to think of a the headache of a tangled heartache he'd left behind. He was here now, fresh start. Maybe this time it'd be better. He glared at the asshole that had bumped into Gyungho's beautiful dancing, then just focused on his hyung again.
"Clubs I can do. Can't wait to see you dance to actual music."
And he was going to show him. They were close to the alleyway now. He was going to get his drugs, find them an open club, dance until his body hurt and pass out somewhere. At least this time, he had a friend to do it with. In a manner of speaking. "Come on, keep up. We gotta score weed if we wanna party."
