"G-Dragon is hot. I bleached my hair back when, pretty sure that was inspired by him." At least partially. Yoongi shifted until he was next to Namjoon, looking at the phone. "I like them, they have good stuff. Especially the rapping." Well, he had his preferences and overall it was definitely rap, had been since he was a kid.
Not really any need to share that either, but whatever. Namjoon liked sharing, so why not?
"I always wanted to be a rapper. Back when eomma and dad were breaking up, I used to sneak out a lot cause no one noticed over the yelling. I always went to rap clubs, watched stuff and joined in sometimes. Best time of my life. Then dad got super strict." And after he realised his son was going out all the time, he ended up with an assigned protector every time he left the house.
"Hip Hop, rap, that's my thing. I used to perform, before I started training." His life had changed a lot then, for obvious reasons, but whatever. Couldn't make money with music. At least not enough at the right time. "I like Eminem, Jay-Z, lots of rappers. I usually listen to music whenever I have time."
Which happened relatively frequently in a job that was often about waiting around. "I guess you could still rap in your free time, huh? You've got money, you could set up space for it."
"It's not the same as a stage. And anyone I asked to come would say I was good, even if I wasn't. You get a lot of yes men when you become important." Namjoon learned a long time ago that he could fuck up big time and people would still praise him. Maybe that's why he lost a lot of his old manners and all - what did it matter? No one cared either way.
"Why did you quit music? That sounds more fun than this. Following around a rich brat must suck." He was just assuming.
"My parents had a restaurant. There was a fire. They survived, we all did, but they couldn't work for a while and we lost everything, so money was needed quickly. I've got a little brother, I want him to get to do whatever he wants. So I signed up, trained, sent home all the money."
Yoongi shrugged. It hadn't really been something where he felt he had any other choice, although he certainly didn't regret it either. Not ultimately. Not when he saw the smile on Jungkook's face when he talked about hanging out in the arcade after school and when he knew that his parents got to actually enjoy their life somewhat. If that meant having to work for gangsters and following around a rich brat, whatever. Worth it.
"Besides, this rich brat isn't so bad in the end."

Hence Yoongi. "What kind of music do you like?"
