"We should hurry." Because they were already running behind and Yoongi wondered whether he'd have to take responsibility for that. He walked next to Namjoon, thinking about how this job really wasn't what he's expected. Not that he'd known what to expect, but basically having to listen to some kid having sex and getting renamed 'Suga' of all things?
Nothing he was too crazy over. This had been advocated as a very different gig than it already turned out to be. "Your father wouldn't like all of this." He figured it was worth pointing out.
"There's no hurry. They'll wait for me. It's a meeting about my next move. Why would they go on without me? Seems pointless." Namjoon didn't mind making people wait, he had very little sense of time or urgency. He just picked walked beside Yoongi and paused at the lift, hitting the button and waiting for it to come up.
"My dad wouldn't like anything I do. Ever. I could conquer Korea and dedicate a whole month in his honour and he'd still not like it. And his dream is to have his birthday as a national holiday, I shit you not." There was no love lost between the two of them, that was for sure. "I don't care what he likes."
"It's good to know you feel comfortable wasting everyone's time because you have daddy issues." Yoongi kept from rolling his eyes, just saying it calmly and without much emotion in his voice. He waited for Namjoon to walk into the lift first, checking in both directions before following behind him. He took his job seriously, even if he was guarding a little brat.
"Ooh, someone is pissy today. Just for that, we're taking the scenic route. I wanna walk around the park before my meeting." Hey, he could waste as much time as he wanted. He could waste more. What was Yoongi going to do about it? Putting his sunglasses on, he leaned against the inside of the lift and checked his phone. "If you don't want your time waste, get another job. You were hired for time wasting reasons. I'm not even in danger, dumbass. My dad just wants you around me to clockblock me."
"If that was the reason, I'd not have listened to you moan for an hour or two just now. I'm good at my job. Cockblocking isn't part of the job description." Although it could have been, because at least according to Jungkook, Yoongi was pretty good at that too. Well, he wasn't going to let his brother do something he'd end up regretting and he was still little.
"We can waste time, but when it comes to your safety, you have to listen to me. Not the other way round."
"No promises. I'm not a great listener." Namjoon smiled at Yoongi as the door opened and headed out of the lift, turning his head back to gesture at Yoongi to keep up. "Just relax, Suga. Chill. No one is gonna make a move on me, it'd be stupid. And besides, I don't have any enemies. I don't have any real issues. My dad is my biggest issue."
As neat as it was to have a handsome guy follow him around, he did think it was kind of pointless. "I hope you're getting paid well at least."
"You are naive." Obviously. No enemies? Plenty of people who'd love to take him on just for being who he was. Yoongi imagined there were probably more based on how annoying he was, but that might just be his imagination. Either way, he didn't think that it was baseless paranoia. Where the queer stuff was concerned, sure, but beyond that? Namjoon's father had a point.
"I get paid well enough." He was glad he'd gotten this job. It should make for a good life for Jungkook and then give him some extra he could send to his parents, so that was pretty ideal. He hadn't wanted Jungkook to need a job next to school.
"Whatever. Stop glaring and get in the car. We're gonna get ice cream. I'm really craving that one with the edible gold? What a waste, I love it." Seriously, what was the point? Well. He didn't mind. It wasn't like it cost him a think in the end. He stretched out, smiling, not really seeming to care what Suga said one way or another.
