"Someone is watching us," Cheon muttered, having seen the leaves rustle. Maybe he was imagining it, but he was generally good about these things. He stepped a little closer toward the tree, reaching for his gun, but not yet drawing it. He knew he had to be careful, he had a goal in mind and he wasn't an idiot. "Come out! Show yourself!"
A few tense seconds passed, but then the trees leaves parted in one place, like a curtain. The various items attached to the branches made sounds as they moved. The man who had stepped forward wasn't tall, but certainly strange looking. His hair was dyed a vibrant red and reached down to the ground, gradually fading to an ink black. Whether it was his real hair, Cheon couldn't tell. His eyes were smeared with black and he was wearing a black skirt that reached the ground as well, his upper body bare, but covered in tattoos.
Weird guy, Cheon concluded, but he bowed his head a little bit.
"You should have asked nicely," Minjun suggested, looking from one to the other. He had been watching and listening. There was a reason he wasn't wearing his necklace or any other jewels right now.
